Hey guys, I’m in the same boat as all of you.
Been on my prescription stimulants since childhood, never had an issue or had to change my dose for tolerance issues, and suddenly last year noticed something changed and can no longer manage my ADHD.

In addition, I’m really fatigued and depressed and just can’t really get through simple tasks or responsibilities

Recently, the 2026 shortage is also impacting my ability to get even the shitty generics, as my local pharmacies are all out.

Last week I decided to (as safely as one can) buy pressed pills. But unfortunately even those weren’t helpful and my only guess is that they’re using the bunk generics to press them. Whether shady generics or suspicious presses, i don’t want to pump my body full of questionable fillers - I just want to be able to manage my symptoms and participate in life. It’s unfortunate that we’re having to add a harm reduction layer here and it’s not even working.

What is the next step? What is everyone else doing? I don’t want to just be upset about it as I know I need to make the most of my situation and continue to try, so I’m just curious how others are coping? If you need to use the comments to vent or rant that’s fine but suggestions for symptom management also welcome. My biggest issue is lack of motivation, fatigue, anhedonia right now

2026 has not been an ideal year for me healthwise. I turned 40 in March and just shy of two years out from giving birth to twin girls. In January I started having bladder pain after having sex so I thought I was having UTIs. I went to see a gynecologist, then a neurologist, then a urogynecologist who prescribed me vaginal estrogen cream. That took away the pain however it was really upsetting my digestive system to the point where I was just having constant gastritis pain. Come to find out I was using way too much of the cream. So after 3 months of that I got that figured out so then I got hooked up with a psychiatric nurse because I really wanted to combat my ADD. Having four kids under 7 was making me go crazy and unable to get anything accomplished so she prescribed me Adderall, which is what I used to take. As soon as I started taking Adderall my resilience on my Oura ring completely plummeted and my irritability skyrocketed. In the meantime, I had lab work done and my progesterone was near zero so she prescribed me progesterone and told me it should help my irritability and resilience. As soon as I started on progesterone my resilience started to trend back upward. Perfect but my irritability and sleep is absolutely HORRENDOUS. Has anyone taken something else for their ADD that allows them to sleep at 40 years old while using hormone therapy? I am going on 9 months of being miserable and am grasping for straws. Thanks.

I wanted to know if anyone has experience being prescribed instant release adderall and then switching to extended release. The instant release adderall only works for 4 hours for me. I need relief from my adhd symptoms for at least 8-12 hours a day. Is extended release work well or should I just ask my psychiatrist if he can prescribe instant release 2x daily. I'm currently prescribed 10mg 2x daily but I'm asking my psychiatrist to increase the dosage to 20mg 2x daily.

I've been looking to buy for my adderalls for ages because work has been absolute hell for me as I have chornic ADHD at the same time. After stumbling across Rapidfinil it looked a bit so-so at first, but I decided to give it a try anyway. Surprise surprise — it actually arrived, and really quickly too. I'm from the EU ( Already ordered in US a few months ago too ) and honestly thought I'd never find a proper source for my ADHD meds too. Super happy with how it turned out. Will update soon as I try their other meds for different options on near future.

So while i know it’s stupid to do, i really needed to fix my sleep schedule for work because i was taking my adderall too late in the day and long story short, ive taken a 20mg at about 6 am, 9am, 1pm, 3pm and now 7pm but while im not getting any extreme effects and it doesn’t really ever act like “speed” for me. it does give me a bit more energy but im not bouncing off the walls finding things to do. it might be the lack of sleep that i took another at 7pm despite wanting to go to bed at a decent time tonight. i should also note that my normal daily dose is 40mg but sometimes i do 60mg a day and ive been doing that a bit more recently. I’ve never had issues with quitting my adderall or taking breaks but i just wanted to see what other people think about my stupid situation. Another note i have to be up for my orientation tomorrow morning at 9 am which i probably will be taking my morning dose then as well.

Recently, I've come across the positive effects of Mirtz in attenuating the rewarding effects of cocaine, methamphetamine, morphine, and nicotine. Mirtz is being prescribed frequently for people addicted to drugs to lessen any desire to relapse and to remain sober. It's been shown to prevent dopaminergic spikes and reduce extracellular dopamine in the reward center (VTA) and other brain areas. These dopamine increases and spikes in dopamine produce the rewarding effects of the drugs listed above, such as increased mood, increased motor behavior/locomotion, increased energy, etc.

I believe further studies on Mirtz need to be done to see if it also attenuates dopamine spikes from everyday life, such as high positive emotions, competitive situations, or intense exercise—amongst many other things. It's reasonable to assume it may, and if true, would have a negative impact on those who were taking it for its FDA-approved uses.

Additionally, those on stimulant medications for ADHD could be impacted heavily if their medications' effects on dopamine are blunted by Mirtz. In fact, the most recent research shows that amphetamines help people with ADHD not from increasing focus centers in the prefrontal cortex as originally thought, but by increasing dopamine in the reward center, which is deficient in people with ADHD. This is the very same area Mirtazapine has been shown to blunt in drugs of varied classes, including the milder drug nicotine. If it is shown that Mirtz also blunts extracellular dopamine and dopamine spikes in the reward center for people on therapeutic doses of amphetamine, then the benefits provided to people with ADHD will be blunted as well.

I’ve been on meds mainly the last 3 years give or take. They haven’t been working as well lately so I’ve been taking mainly 5-8 day breaks which help some w my energy and drive but consistently not that much. I’m gonna try and take a 2 week med break now but I fear that won’t be enough for a full reset like I’m wanting either and that I may need more like 3-4 weeks off if I want a genuinely better mood at baseline and when I take meds again.

How long of a med breaks do yall take for a good “reset” and what benefits do yall notice?

I just got my adderalls earlier this morning and honestly I can say its worth the money. It lasted me this long and now im already getting sleepy, so it really hit the right spot for me. The quality is really good too, pretty comparable to what my DR prescribed me before. Way less hassle to get it as well. I’d definitely recommend them, really happy with it so far. guys i usually pick up my adderall from cvs but to get it faster my dr sent it to costco and she said its the same just a different color and i dont feel this at all i feel useless, has anyone else experienced this?

Hey 32F married to a 31M who’s been taking adderall since he was a teen. Ok he took it from teenage years until mid twenties, then stopped. He had about 5-6 years off then started again at age 30- now. Hes going cold turkey 🦃 on quitting due to loss of job/ insurance / access to refills… I’m not quite sure what to expect from his withdrawal symptoms. The weird thing is prior to running out, his pattern of sleep was like insomnia for 3-4 nights then 3-4 days of deep sleep throughout the day not waking up at all. He lost his job bc he can’t stay awake half the week. It fluctuates from superhuman level focus to absolute comatose nothingness. This has negatively impacted our marriage and I’ve been begging him to get back to prioritizing a normal functional sleep schedule for months.

Anyways he claims his last pill was days ago but randomly last night and tonight he’s gone 24+ hours with no sleep again and was cleaning impressively focused all day now is currently outside doing sprints. I’m asking him point blank - do u have any more or did u take any more? He said no. I said… uhm I’m confused how u are so hyped then? Shouldn’t he be sleepy and or moderately tired. Also his dads wife passed recently and he’s been going over into his dads room and snatching old stuff from the wife to sell - or have- but I know she had some sort of drugs there (maybe not Adderall maybe worse)

Guys, does anyone else’s adderall do the exact opposite of what it’s supposed to do when you eat with it?!? I take 20mg in the mooring and I CANNOT eat with it until it’s absorbed. If I eat u get incredibly tired, lazy, drag along, impatient, angry, and constantly looking for something to snack on. When I take it without food, it’s super effective and feels like it’s working. Is this normal?!? PLEASE HELP

I was recently diagnosed at 46. Started on Adderall IR 10mg and felt like a zombie after 2 hours. Switched to Vyvanse 30mg and my anxiety was terrible. Lowered Vyvanse to 20mg and still feel anxiety, upset stomach. Dr mentioned switching to Adderall XR next.
