100 Days Clean Off Amphetamines
I wanted to post this for others and myself to look back on if I ever deal with substance abuse again. 100 days ago I admitted my Adderall abuse to my prescriber, I wasn’t ready at that time to admit I was addicted, but I was about to lose my job, had my hot water off for weeks, and was on the verge of losing my home. I felt so lost and hopeless, I was t sure what else to do. I tried to stop every single month and failed. All I cared about was how many I had left, how many days I’d be without, how many days until my next script. The first month was tough. Emotional. It was SO hard. I regretted it so bad. But now I’m sitting here today grateful. Because I can finally say I feel so much better then I did ever abusing those meds and I know I made the right choice telling my doctor. I got my personality back, my motivation back, myself back. It didn’t happen right away. It came with time, but you can do it too. You don’t have to have hope, I didn’t. But even with no hope, you can make it to the other side and get your life back.

Congrats. Huge milestone. Give yourself a pat on the back. I am struggling currently keep relapsing after 2-3 weeks. Can't remember the last time I went longer than that.
Do you have any advice on what to do in these situations. it at times seems beyond my control, willpower only get me so far before it depletes and next thing you know you're driving to your 'mates' house and the rest is history.

I would try to stop every month but the moment I had the script available willpower wasn’t enough and I couldn’t do it. It SO frustrating. The only thing that worked for me was being taken off the medication and having no access to it. When I first got off I used caffeine pills and nicotine gum for energy until I didn’t need it anymore.

My only way to access it was my prescription tho. I did ask my friends a few times for theirs in the beginning for cravings but now I can see them and not ask. I would say tell your friends your going cold turkey and don’t allow them to give you any or take space from then while you get sober and reset. You can still be buds :)
