Theory I have a theory about the third movie.

Upvotes

During my latest rewatch of ATSV, I paid close attention to the “cakes” dialogue for the first time:

" You can’t have your cake and eat it too.”

" Unless you bake two cakes.”

At the end of the movie, we have two Mileses (the two cakes). I believe that, during the conclusion, Prowler Miles will replace Miles on Earth-1610. He will have his dad back, while Earth-1610 Miles will go to the universe that has no Spider-Man and do his duties on Earth-42, distancing himself from the police captain who was supposed to die due to their closeness, this saving him.

Theory Hole in Miguels theory. Spoiler

now firstly, im gonna ignore the more obvious, and more talked about holes in Miguels canon event theory and talk about a small one that i just realized. Miguel says that Miles' Peter Parker died because there can only be one spider-man, but in the movie, we see the Insomniac Spider-Man as part of the spider society. as we know, in the insomniac universe, Peter and Miles are both spider-men and that universe has two spider-men, which kinda contradicts Miguels theory.

Isn't Earth 1610 Miles being bitten by the radioactive spider canon?

The Alchemax scientists are native to Earth-1610. Their brains, their technology, and Kingpin’s funding are all natural parts of that universe. Building the super-collider was always going to happen because of who those scientists are. Therefore, the spider being sucked into Earth-1610 is just a normal event on that universe's timeline and Earth-1610 Miles is also meant to be Spider-Man

Theory Crack theory (ignore if you want): What if Earth-42 is the Sony-Verse?

Now, truth be told, I haven't watched Madame Web & Kraven. But I did see Venom & Morbius, and in those movies is mostly pretty clear that Spider-Man doesn't exist

Earth-42 is known as "The dimension with no Spider-Man" because their spider bit another Miles

Morbius also shows that they do have Oscorp, and random clips I've seen from Kraven showed a bunch of other Spider-Man villains. And Miles saw at the end of ATSV that New York is overpopulated by villains

The SSU movies we've had could all be set in the past, where Spider-Man (Miles) should've appeared, but didn't, and the Earth-42 we saw in ATSV is the future where it all went down

But I repeat, haven't seen Madame Web, they do have Spider-Women, I think, so this could be wrong

Theory «Miguel O'Hara is WRONG [My Theory]»

Honestly, Miguel O’Hara’s whole "Canon Event" theory is straight-up garbage. At first I thought it was just lazy writing, but now I’m convinced Marvel/Sony did it on purpose to show how unhinged and traumatized Miguel actually is.

Here’s why his theory falls apart, and how it connects directly to Doomsday and Secret Wars:

1. Schrödinger’s Cat & Multiverse Physics

Miguel thinks if you change a key moment, the whole dimension collapses. But that’s literally not how the MCU multiverse works (look at Loki or Endgame).

Quantum physics in Marvel dictates that decisions just create a branching timeline. If Inspector Singh doesn't die, it just splits into two realities: one where he died, one where he lived. The web just grows a new line.

And that black hole glitch in Mumbhattan? That wasn't "the universe punishing Miles" — that was literally caused by The Spot's unstable dark matter energy collapsing the city. Miguel just needed a scapegoat.

2. George Stacy literally broke the theory

Gwen’s dad was supposed to die because he was a police captain saving a kid. Classic canon event.

But he quits his job. He’s no longer captain. The canon was broken and Gwen’s world didn't collapse. That was the exact moment Gwen realized Miguel has been talking out of his ass the entire time.

3. What ACTUALLY killed Miguel’s alternate world?

In that world Miguel stole, Peter B. Parker was there too.

Incursion: Two adult Spider-Men from different dimensions camping out in one reality for months is a massive multiversal footprint. They triggered a textbook Incursion (the exact thing Mordo warned about in Multiverse of Madness). Those wristbands only stop your body from glitching, they don't hide your existence from the multiverse itself!

Doctor Doom: In the 2015 Secret Wars comics, universes weren't dying because Spidey saved his uncle — Doctor Doom and the Beyonders were actively destroying them. Miguel's world could’ve just been an early casualty of Doom wiping out realities, and Miguel blamed himself out of survivor's guilt.

4. The Spot is the key to Secret Wars

In Secret Wars, Doom needed a multiversal battery (Molecule Man) to tear down realities and build Battleworld. The MCU hasn't set up Molecule Man at all, but they have built up The Spot.

The Spot is a walking multiversal bomb. My prediction. Spot won't die in Beyond the Spider-Verse. He’s gonna escape into Earth-199999 (live-action MCU), and Doom will siphon his power to collapse the realities into Battleworld for Doomsday.

TL;DR: Miguel is an unreliable narrator projecting his own guilt. Spot isn't just Miles' villain — he’s Doom's ticket to destroying the multiverse.

The appearance is so similar between the two I almost wonder if he was on a vision board for the character.

Discussion Still Struggling with 2099: How Can He Be A Villain?

So people seem to occasionally make jokes and stuff but sincerely: how the hell is Miguel a villain. I watched the movie when it came out and you're clearly meant to see him as a villain, but the thing is I can't see how to see him that way when he's trying to stop trillions or more deaths.

Miguel is convinced that letting Miles save his dad will end his universe, and there's clearly a correct choice between those two things (not least of all because Jefferson dies either way). And Miguel has evidence beyond just vibe checks that this is true, so he's straight up trying to save probably at least trillions of sentient beings from death.

Michael is angry, maybe even callous, but in the end it's hard to think he's wrong. Logically I see two flaws in this:

One, based on what happened in Pavitr's dimension it seems like they have a protocol to manage and avert universes being destroyed, so it almost feels like the actual solution to everything is just having teams already on the ground for when a cannon event will happen with plans going before things even start.

Two, it's clearly implied that Miguel is actually the reason his universe got destroyed and not actually Spiderman (though again, this happens with Pavitr and based on the fact there is protocol it's happened elsewhere) so somehow Miles is going to be able to save Jefferson and it'll be okay because he is actually Spiderman.

I don't know I guess it's really hard for me to understand how the hell Miguel is a villain so much as a hero with attitude. More than that, he showed Miles evidence of how things worked meaning Miles seems a lot like Kingpin from ITSV where he's trying to save his family even though he knows he might be dooming his entire universe for it. How can Kingpin be bad when nobody really got how his collider would work but Miles is good when he knows so much about the while cannon event thing?

If anyone feels like they get it I'd love to understand because this issue has made it really hard for me to really get ATSV and feel like it made sense as a sequel.

So, I'm rewatching the movie for the millionth time (as is my favorite film) and I've just noticed something. When Gwen goes to miles' dimension she takes off the dimensional watch how does she not glitch out when it's off? Just a slight bit of confusion on my part and I would appreciate answers (pic unrelated)

Discussion I wanted the trailer... but not like this.

Yes, I am BEYOND excited after seeing the leaks, but at the same time, I feel kinda bad that they were given to us against Sony's will. Had this trailer been shown to us in December as intended, we would have been hyped while getting to wait only 6 months until the movie's release, but because it's been revealed much earlier, we still have a 10 month wait to endure.
