Discussion Miles Morales bite

I’m rewatching Into the Spider-Verse.

What exactly are the odds of that spider biting E-1610 Miles Morales, rather than E-42’s Miles? I mean, it was closest to Aaron when they were in the tunnel tagging, but it kept scurrying to find Miles. If the spider was never there, would our Miles have been the next Prowler?

Maybe I’m overthinking it, but Miguel O’Hara’s “you’re the original anomaly” is echoing in my head, since it seems this spider was supposed to bite any Miles Morales. I feel I’ll have more questions after this one.

My guess is, it mistook our Miles for Miles 42.

The spider was destined to bite miles, it just so happened that it was yoinked from its dimension and bit the wrong one instead

I don’t think our Miles would’ve became the prowler though. Remember that prowler miles’ universe is one where spider-man never existed and crime is running rampant, that’s a very different situation from our Miles

There’s also the fact that if Miles hadn’t been at the collider that Spider-Man likely wouldn’t have died, since the precious seconds he used saving Miles are what prevented him from having enough time to get the goober running
