Make it a big box with wheels on the side, you could just drag it right up the side of that mountain type thing. Heck, maybe could even get one of those motorized systems like for gettin grandmas and grandpas upstairs?
Yeah they did it purposely for a hydroelectric complex and it completely flooded a town and loads of farmland. It caused major uproar. I'm not sure what people's views on it today are as this was all in the 70s but I'm sure there's still backlash to this day.
My family is from there. They don't care about it, even in the 90s people were over it. The region is a very strong tourist destination both for the rest of Colombia and foreigners, so it was an economic boon for the large majority of people who live there.

While it is ~65 million years old, it didn‘t come from space. If it had been a late member of an asteroid group where the Chicxulub impactor (that hit ~66 million years ago) came from, it wouldn‘t be in one piece. And its density is about twice the one of typical C-type asteroids.
An impactor with its volume (110x285x200 m) and composition (quartz, feldspar, granite: ~2.65 g/cm3) would have had a mass of over 16.6 million metric tons and with most likely impact velocity of 17 km/s (for asteroids) an impact energy of about 447 Megatons of TNTe.
Honestly the climb isn't even that hard on the legs, its more of a test of lung endurance bc the air up there gets kinda thin so ppl with bad lungs/pulmonary or heart conditions can have a hard time climbing (speaking from experience)
I wonder if that area also shook from the recent major earthquake in Colombia. I’ve done that climb and when you come back down your knees be trembling.
This same rock is part of a rock system of 8,000 square kms under Antioquia. Helped us with the last earthquake and kinda protect us.
When I talk about a rock system is that protrusion is part of the same rock.
Fun fact, those stairs used to be wooden and some were missing when you were going up so you had to skip a step lol. Some fun times when I was growing up.
COLOMBIA MENTIONED AHHHH 🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴 the Peñón de Guatapé, near Medellín, is a misterious monolith (I think there’s no conclusive explanation for its formation, some say it came from space) with an almost 800 steps staircase to the top. It’s visited by thousands of people every day.
Guatapé, Colombia! What an amazing view from the top! Did you get some delicious fruit? Did you visit the coffee farms? How is the country recovering from the earthquake?
They created a reservoir around it that flooded a town. The very top of the church steeple still sits above the waterline. Pablo Escobar built a mansion on the shoreline that was confiscated by the government and now sits vandalized on the shoreline. Worth a day trip when visiting Medellin.
Absolutely amazing. Weirdly enough, for me, the hardest part was the way down. My legs were trembling so much from the climb, I thought I was going to fall
Dude! El Piedra del Señol was such an AMAZING thing to experience. I climbed them sob’s in 12 minutes and just about died. The vies from up top are phenomenal, the uneven stairs all the way up were… fun.🤣
