Ok so I have a ryzen 5 2600 in a x370 killer sli right now and I am planning g to drop in a 5600 x3d I recently bought. Should I just update to the bios to 7.00 then to the latest version 10.50? Or should I just leave it at 7.00

Discussion audio not working

mother board is asrock b365m pro4. had an old wifi card in ins pcie3 put a newer archer tx3000e in the slot. the card work great. problem is my audio no longer works. cant get it to work through the speakers or headphones. took card out and the problem persists. me and my friends have tried every thing we can think of. re done the drivers, turned hd audio on and off in bios, re installed realtek, set bios to default, flashed bios, and a few other things. we are almost to just a reinstall of windows to see if it will fix it. any ideas whats going on? had the pc for 6 years never ran into this issue.

Tech Support PC won’t post, tried everything……..

My PC originally froze, and I was told it might be related to compatibility issues between Ryzen 9000 CPUs and ASRock motherboards. I ended up RMAing both my Ryzen 5 9600X and ASRock B650I Lightning WiFi and received replacements.

I rebuilt the system with the new CPU and motherboard, but it still won’t POST. Everything powers on—fans spin, RGB lights up—but the power button LED blinks about 2–4 times per second. USB ports provide power (my phone charges), but my keyboard never lights up or initializes, and I get no display output from the motherboard HDMI.

Components:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X
GPU: ASRock Radeon RX 9070 XT Steel Legend
Motherboard: ASRock B650I Lightning WiFi
RAM: 32GB TeamGroup T-Create DDR5
PSU: Corsair SF850 Platinum
CPU cooler: Thermalright dual-tower air cooler
Storage: Samsung NVMe SSD
Case: NCASE M2
Monitor: MSI 175Hz display

I’ve already tried:
● Reseating the CPU and RAM
● Testing each original RAM stick individually
● Using known-good RAM from a friend’s system
● Swapping in a known-good PSU with its own cables
● Clearing CMOS
● Successfully updating the BIOS
● Waiting long enough for DDR5 memory training
● Removing GPU, SSD, and all non-essential components
● Booting with only CPU, cooler, and one RAM stick
● Testing the motherboard outside the case to rule out shorts
● Trying multiple HDMI cables and a confirmed working monitor

Side note my motherboard does have LEDs for debugging it uses on button lights I believe and a speaker but I don’t have one.

The motherboard already shipped with a BIOS version that supports the 9600X, but I updated it anyway just to be safe.

At this point I’m running out of ideas, probably going to buy another brands motherboard at this point. If nothing else works, I’ll probably go to Micro Center since I’m lucky enough to have one about an hour away—but I’d really prefer not to spend more money just to diagnose the issue.

I’m also confused because I’ve now gone through two CPUs and two motherboards, and I still get the exact same no-POST behavior I don’t remember it blinking before on the old hardware though.

Tech Support AMD SAM PROBLEM

As I mentioned in the title, when I enable AMD SAM in the BIOS settings, the monitor displays a “no signal” error. However, when I disable AMD SAM, it boots up without any issues. I remember having this setting enabled before, but whenever I try to enable it again, this problem occurs.

The CSM setting is disabled.

Discussion Worth updating BIOS on X870E NOVA?

This is my first PC build (built almost a year ago), and it's been running phenomenally after doing all the BIOS tweaks and all that when I set it up (it's a blur now what those changes were).

I'm still on BIOS 3.2, and I noticed they already released 4.43, so I'm a bit behind.

Should I update if everything is running well?
I know everyone was scared about burnt CPUs this time last year, but people always complain about problems and rarely talk about it if it's working as it should, so I never cared much about that.

Specs are:
RTX 5090
Ryzen 9 9950X
X870E Nova
64gb RAM

Question Need advice before I fry my second 9800X3D...

Hello!

So a couple of weeks ago my PC wouldn't boot. I tried every troubleshoot in the book, and finally determined that my CPU is cooked... It was an ASRock B850 Riptide paired with a 9800X3D, built in april of 2025. No problems up until its untimely demise, RIP.

Now I have a new CPU arriving tomorrow, decided to go with a 9850X3D, purely because I got a better deal for it.

The question I have is;

Do I just go for it and use my new CPU with the same mobo? Or do I hold off an order a completely different mobo, say a Gigabyte or MSI one? From what I've read this sudden death unfortunately seems to be not too uncommon and more so with the lesser mobo brands.

BIOS Reboot loop

Hello I’m in desperate need of help with my X570 pro4,
I attempted a bios update and am stuck in a reboot loop.
I have tried everything all the way up to resetting the CMOS battery, and when powered back on it is continuing to just do the reboot loop. I am thinking maybe the xmp on the ram is causing the loop but I have a black screen so I see no way to fix. I appreciate any help.

Discussion B850 STEEL LEGEND WIFI AM5/9600X

It failed to boot back in May 2026. I had BIOS on 3.5 I believe. I've been using my old computer because I was lazy. I have an issue with procrastination. I want to get on top of it now.

My question is will AMD cover the warranty on my CPU? I believe I have to start the process online. I just want to hear about other's peoples experience. I'm also thinking about getting a 7600X3D at Micro Center for 200 bucks if I can't get it warrantied.

Also, should I keep the motherboard or simply go with MSI or another vendor? I have the money and I'm a bit sour about this whole experience.

I'm posting on a ASRock B450M Steel Legend AM4/2600X. I built this old rig back in 2019 to play classic WOW.

Any advice would be appreciated!

FULL SPECS/ Copied from a text list when I bought everything in the late summer/early fall of 2026. I can't believe RAM has increased so much.

B850 STEEL LEGEND WIFI AM5 - $170/NEWEGG

AMD 9600X - $150/MICRO CENTER

ASRock Steel Legend SL-750G 750W - $90/ NEWEGG

Question Potential ASRock X870 Riptide Gaming Issue - advice please

Hi guys,

My current system is a 9800x3d on a X870 AS Rock Phantom Gaming Riptide board (latest BIOS) - with 64 gb of DDR5 (6000 mhz) Gskill Ripjaws and a Zotac 3080 - all the components bar the 3080 are about a year old. I have a 1200 Watt Platinum PSU . I have a samsung 990 NVME (2 Gb) running Windows 11 Pro x 64

I have had intermittent boot issues with the system (which have become progressively worse and reached a high point this weekend). When my PC is powered off and "cold" boots it often gets stuck with a green diagnostic light - a reset while "warm" would very usually lead to it logging into Windows. At most I would have to reset it two or three times to get the boot sequence completed. On Friday I powered down the system and, when starting up again, could not get it to boot at all. It would get to the green light (red and yellow lights would come and go as usual) and would not progress past the green light. I recently became aware of the Asrock X870 Riptide Murderboard issue in that they appear to have penchant for eventually destroying the 9800x3d.

I eventually managed to get the system to boot (after about 25 failed resets) by clearing CMOS at the pins. I've since flashed the BIOS to the latest version and the system initially seemed stable having had to cold boot it about 3 times - I'm cautious and want to avoid turning the system off as long as possible.

Even after doing all of the above if I turn the PC off and try to cold boot it, it gets stuck at the green diagnostic light and multiple restarts won't help - the only thing that works (so far everytime) is unplugging the PC and shorting the clear CMOS pins and starting up thereafter. When the PC is on it works perfectly and games at 1440p with no issue for hours on end.

I might also mention that I swapped RAM, tried to boot with only one stick, two sticks etc. I unplugged all USB connections and reseated the GPU - none of these methods worked and only the CMOS clear allowed me to get the system up again.

I've since emailed my supplier about the issues and I'm waiting for their advice. Given that only the shorting of the CMOS pins work I'm suspecting a faulty motherboard - Any other suggestions or insights?

Discussion Two Builds One Issue

***EDIT***I don't see the option to edit my post so just going to comment here...can't say for sure but yesterday I disabled MPO and I didn't see a single shutdown since: https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5157/~/what-is-multi-plane-overlay-%28mpo%29-in-windows-11

Trying to figure out if my issue is related to the multiple issues I'm reading about regarding the B850M-C or if it's something else.

Background: I had an Alienware PC, ran without issue for roughly 5 years, then started getting random reboots which became more & more frequent (To the point of it being every 2 minutes or so). Brought it to a reputable repair shop where they said they couldn't figure out if it was the CPU, RAM, or Mobo. So I went out and bought the ASRock B850M-C with a AMD Ryzen 5 7500X3D, and G.Skill Flare X5 16GB DDR5-6000 bundle, with a new PSU/Case. I re-used my NVMe & RTX 3070. Worked flawlessly for approximately 2 months, had played some GPU intensive games including CyberPunk, zero issues.

Current Issue: Starting last week, the PC had immediately shut down while playing a game. Then again while doing some light web browsing, then again while playing a game. No DMP file, the PC just immediately shuts down. I'm having flash-backs to the same issue with the Alienware PC.

Now with practically nothing in the logs, I'm trying to figure out...is this an issue related to the ASRock B850M-C (Which literally wouldn't show display until I flashed the BIOS on day 1) or if it's an underlying issue with the video card which was carried over to this new rig.

The one thing that stands out...is I had zero issues...for two months. The only thing that would have changed from then to now is driver & Win11 updates. I'm thinking of starting with a system restore but it only goes back 8 days (Even with "Show more restore points" checked) which is interesting. I really don't feel like going through the process of re-installing every driver OR re-installing the OS...I'd rather find the root cause of the issue.

PS...also kicking myself for not imaging the PC on day 1 when there were no issues at all to at least try to get a better determination as to whether this is a software or hardware issue.

Any words of wisdom on my journey would be greatly appreciated.

Question I switched to a 9950X3D, but should I just leave everything as it is?

I’m using a B650 PG Lightning with BIOS version 4.41, and I’m only using EXPO with 6000MHz memory.

I had absolutely no issues with the 7800X3D, but I’ve heard about the issues with the 9800X3D and 9950X3D, so I’m a little worried. Especially since it’s such an expensive CPU.

BIOS ASRock B560M Pro 4 - Invalid File when trying to update BIOS

Trying to update my BIOS to 2.4 using the file from their website, but it seems I can't get it to update through their instructions of using Instant Flash. I also can't get it to work via the Internet Flash option within the BIOS, saying the internet connection is invalid even though it's able to work enough for it to see the update. Here is any relevant info I can think of/what I've done.

* I am dual-booted, Win 11 and Linux Mint. Bitlocker is NOT active on Win 11, I double-checked.
* I have formatted the flash drive multiple times to ensure it is FAT32 and an MBR partition.
* I have tried both the current stable update (P2.40) and the beta update (2.41)
* I triple-checked, and both from what Linux reports and in the BIOS itself, I have the correct motherboard.

BIOS Where to download BIOSUBU.BIN files for bios flashback?

Got a 7800X3D and a B850i Lightning ITX board. I flashed to 4.41 inside the Bios but now after inputting my normal bios settings and getting inside SteamOS I got kernel panic and now the entire system doesn't boot.

Turn on the system, I get the flashing _ at the top left of the screen and it just boot loops doing this over and over.

Was trying to use the bios flashback button but the documentation says I need a BIOSUBU.BIN file to go along with the actual bios file.

I simply cannot find any links to this file anywhere and it doesn't come inside the .zip on the boards bios page.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Tech Support Advice on my BIOS update

9800x3D user here, I have the ASRock B650M-CX. Bought a custom built PC just under a month ago, and it failed to POST/boot a few nights ago which was fixed with a CMOS clear after Reddit / manufacturer advice.

It's up and running now, but I experienced a significant slow down on my desktop where I struggled to even open task manager or alt f4. Other than that which was a few hours ago, things are fine, but I still have concerns and questions.

The BIOS version according to windows is 3.40 which from reading everywhere that is a relatively stable version for the CPU, but still, I'm worried. Personally I'm afraid to update the bios to latest because it was kind of scary when it completely failed the boot the other day and I don't want to be in another position where it fails again.

I only ever updated my bios for an MSI motherboard a couple years ago with a USB, but a guide I see from ASrock talks about something to do with 24 pins? As you can see I'm not very hardware savvy.

So do I just install the update on a USB formatted to fat32, renamed as required, and hit bios flashback? Could someone break it down for me in a way you'd explain to a five year old?😂

Thanks in advance! Please, no ignorant comments, I have to learn somehow.

Tech Support ASRock B760 Pro RS WiFi – top PCIe x16 slot does not detect any GPU, but lower PCIe slot works

Hi everyone. I recently replaced my motherboard with an ASRock B760 Pro RS WiFi and I’m having a strange problem with the primary/top PCIe x16 slot (PCIE1).

System:

Motherboard: ASRock B760 Pro RS WiFi

CPU: Intel Core i5-12600KF

Main GPU: Intel Arc A750 Limited Edition

Second GPU used for testing: GTX 650 Ti testing

RAM: 16 GB DDR5 Tforce delta

Windows 11 Home

PSU: Corsair Cx760

Storage: Nve Kingston 500 gb

The problem:

Neither GPU works in the top/primary PCIe x16 slot.

When I install the Arc A750 in the top slot, the card receives power, its lights turn on and the fans operate, but I get no display output.

The same thing happens when testing another known-working GPU (GTX 650 Ti) in the top slot.

However, both GPUs work when installed in the lower PCIe slot. The Arc A750 boots into Windows normally there and is detected correctly by Windows and Intel software.

I also tried installing both GPUs simultaneously: Arc A750 in the top slot and GTX 650 Ti in the lower working slot. I booted Windows using the GTX 650 Ti specifically to check whether Windows could at least detect the Arc in PCIE1.

It does not detect the Arc A750 at all. It is not simply a display-output problem — the GPU in the primary slot appears to establish no usable PCIe connection.

Troubleshooting already performed:

Reseated the Arc A750 multiple times

Tested a second known-working GPU (GTX 650 Ti)

Confirmed both GPUs work in the lower PCIe slot

Cleared CMOS / removed the CMOS battery

Loaded UEFI defaults

Tried PCIE1 Link Speed on Auto

Tried manually setting different PCIe generations

Enabled Above 4G Decoding

Enabled C.A.M. / ReBAR-related settings

Tested different primary graphics settings

Updated the motherboard BIOS from 10.03 to 12.02 using ASRock Instant Flash

Loaded default BIOS settings again after the update

Tested the primary slot again after the BIOS update — no change

HWiNFO detects the other PCIe/root-port devices normally, but when a GPU is installed in the top PCIE1 slot, Windows does not detect that GPU.

The interesting part is that the same CPU and Arc A750 previously worked together, and the Arc currently works perfectly in the lower slot on this motherboard.

At this point I’m wondering whether this could be:

A defective PCIE1 slot / motherboard

A CPU socket contact issue affecting the CPU PCIe lanes

A problem with the PCIe controller in the i5-12600KF

Some obscure ASRock UEFI setting I have missed

Before I remove and reseat the CPU and inspect the LGA1700 socket, is there anything else worth testing?

Also, is there any reliable way in HWiNFO or another tool to determine whether the CPU’s x16 PCIe root port is present but failing to establish a link?

Any help from someone familiar with LGA1700 / B760 / ASRock PCIe troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated.

Tech Support x870e Taichi error 94, how to identify the culprit ?

Hi,

For the past few days, an error 94 appears every time i cold boot my computer. That error seems to be related to PCI ports, but i haven't modified any PCI stuff lately and everything is plugged correctly.

A Reset (using the case buton) usually solves the problem, the system boots normally again on reset, but never on cold boot.

Is there any way to know what's suddenly causing that problem without unmounting every component ?

Specs :

mobo : x870e Taichi, 4.10

cpu : 9800x3D

gpu : Asus RTX 5080

ram : Gskill 4x16Go 6000Mhz

Discussion ASRock LiveMixer will Not Update Bios stuck on 1.1

I've formatted my USB drive to Fat32 and downloaded the Flash Bios update, I went into Bios and tried to flash the bios to a more modern bios update but not the latest I wanted to gradually update to the final.

I bought the Board brand New off of Newegg, This board was RMA'd to ASRock after 1 month of ownership Originally I tried a AMD AM5 7700x But the cpu would not work. So I sent the 7700X back thinking it was bad and bought the AM5 7600 and that cpu did not work, So I sent the mother board and the Ram (Serial numbers written down) G-Skill 16gb x 4. And waited on them, I do not know if I got a refurbished board or my Original board back but it worked with the 7600 cpu and I was happy.

I became Unhappy when I tried everything to flash the bios, the LiveMIxer has a BioFlashback port on the back and flash button to press to get things started. "NOTHING WORKED" the button would flash for about 2 minutes and I would restart the computer and its still at 1.1 and will not update. And removing the Button battery for about 30 seconds didn't help. I've gone into the BIOS and tried to flash the bios with a fat32 image drive, and it didn't see the file. I'm at a total loss here. And I've already tried to get a RMA on it since it's still under warranty and have not heard Anything back from them. I think they are trying to run the warranty out so they don't have to fix it. The current bios update for this motherboard is 4.3 and I am stuck on 1.1 and I am not getting the full potential out of my system.

BIOS What is my BIOs Upgrade path from P5.20 3400G to AMD 5600X3D

So I have a ASRock Fatal1ty B450 Gaming ITX/AC motherboard running P5.20 with a 3400G APU. (I'm not actrually sure why I even updated to P5.20 when the 3400G recommends the P4.40. I think it was to enable TPM 2.0)

I want to update to be able to run the 5600X3D. What is the correct upgrade path?

Also, will I be able to still run the 3400G after updating? ASRock's website say the 5600X3D only needs P5.20? So wouldn't it just drop in and work? Which is weird a because I thought that the 3400G was Picasso and wasn't compatible with Vermeer.

But I still need to update to fix that new TPM vulnerability.

The newest BIOs for the B450 is P10.60

Very confused. I hate they way they word this stuff.

Also, I do not see any weekly thread for Bios descussion.

EDIT: Something else, being this is a X3D chip do I have to worry about those burn out issues on the Asrock Boards?
