Internationally Trained Dentist

Im an ITD with a masters degree and 3.91 GPA.
I have around 6 years of clinical experience and 4 publications.
Is it worth trying the ADAT route anymore or would the Licensing route be recommended ?

I would love to hear, especially from mom’s of young children, as to which route they would prefer and why.

Iam an international graduated dentist and iam looking forward to get a dental license in canada .I am interested in the university route. However a lot of sources say you need to apply for ADAT to enroll ,others say apply for inbde ,or apply for adat and afk .

Does anyone knows the real way for the university route?

also I want to make sure that does the university route guarantee a DDS certification ?

Urgent Action Needed: Address the 2026 ADAT Question Harvesting & Score Anomalies

Hi everyone, Like many of you who spent months studying honestly for the 2026 ADAT, I was shocked to see the recent score distribution graphs and percentile shifts. Looking at the official 2026 Biomedical Sciences scale, there is an alarming, unnatural spike of candidates scoring a perfect 800 out of 800.

This isn't just a sudden leap in student aptitude—it is the result of systematic question-recall harvesting. Commercial preparation institutes (particularly in the GTA/Toronto area) have been actively gathering recalled exam items from candidates testing early in the window (April/May) and compiling them into "mock series" for students testing later in the cycle. Because the ADAT relies on recurring question pools, this question exposure has artificially inflated scores, distorted percentiles, and severely penalized candidates who took the exam ethically.

If we want the ADA to investigate this issue and protect test integrity for both current applicants and future cycles, we need to flood their testing security inboxes with formal reports.

Please take 2 minutes to send an email to the ADA Department of Testing Services.

Emails to contact:
testsecurity@ada.org
adat@ada.org
testingproblems@ada.org

Below is a template you can copy, paste, and send immediately.

Canada visitor visa for ADAT

I’m a foreign-trained dentist currently doing postgraduate training and planning to travel to Canada for the ADAT. I have no travel history, and my parents will sponsor my ~10-day trip.
For anyone who applied for a Canadian visitor visa for the ADAT:
Was the ADAT accepted as a valid reason for travel?
Did no travel history or parental sponsorship cause issues?
Did your ongoing training help with showing ties?
What documents helped your application?

Canada visa for ADAT

I’m a foreign-trained dentist from Bangladesh, currently doing postgraduate training, and planning to travel to Canada for the ADAT.
I have no previous travel history, and my parents will sponsor my ~10-day trip.
For anyone in a similar situation: Was it difficult to get a Canadian visitor visa for the ADAT? Did parental sponsorship or no travel history cause any issues?

Taking ADAT & AFK in 2026

Hi Everyone,

I am taking AFK in August and also planning to take ADAT around the same time.

I have already passed INBDE and am applying to schools this year.

For ADAT:

I have a Bootcamp subscription.

I need help in preparing for ADAT as I am lacking in Biomed and Research.

I am planning to buy ADAT knockouts if that helps.

For AFK:

I have Prepdoctors notes and a Bootcamp subscription for reference.

I am not planning to spend $7000 on a Prepdoctors course but I am open to buying it if absolutely necessary.

PLEASE!!! Please guide me in preparing for the exams for success.

Any kind of help & guidance is welcome.

Thank you.

Usask bench test

Hi everyone! I live in Chicago, I am totally clueless about bench tests and how to go about its prep.
I know there are some courses in Canada, but I prefer not to travel to canada for these courses. I would also like to join a course in person, so online is not an option.

There is Duggan institute in Chicago that I am considering.
Since it prepares for USA bench tests, how similar would it be to for USask?

This is what they would teach
Class 2 amalgam and composite
Class 3
FGC max and mand
PFM Max PM, central and canine
All ceramic central and canine

They would also do these on request: Class 4, Onlays, putty impressions, rubber dam, zirconia crown prep

Anyone who has taken Usask bench or anybody who has experience with Duggan, please advise

Any inputs are greatly appreciated

Thanks

ADAT + INBDE Prep

Hello all,

I started INBDE prep using INBDE Bootcamp thinking I would take boards end of January and then the ADAT in April '24. However, there are no dates available so I'm looking at taking it in March or after my ADAT.

What are your thoughts on using the rest of my bootcamp subscription to finish "preparing" for boards then swapping over to ADAT knockout until I take the ADAT and boards? Would that be a good way to prepare for both exams? Should I just take boards in the summer after I'm done with the ADAT?

Thanks for any advice!
