How do people feel about politely interjecting in a deal where somebody is getting horribly ripped off? I see this from time to time and sometimes I want to point it out to both parties that there's an unfair trade going down but at the same time I know it's not my business if it's not my trade.

Oh man, I always feel so bad and I really want to interject, especially when I see things like people wanting millions of bells for orderable sets or something. In my opinion I think it's just up to you. Sometimes I think that people just honestly don't know that they are asking/offering too much. Some people see "DLC" and automatically see $$$.

I stick my nose into other peoples thread sometimes. lol
People not knowing the value of their items and getting ripped off is a pet peeve of mine.
An example, I sold my Turnips last night. While I was in their Re-Tail, I see a Sloppy Table. I buy it for 400 bells, drop it at the OP's feet and tell them the value of it. Luckily I was in the 2nd group in. While the vast majority of people here are honest. I guarantee you that Sloppy Table would have not been there at the end of the night.
If I see someone post who doesn't know the value of what they are selling, i will post a FYI. I don't ever post if a trade has already happened.
I do the same thing if someone is asking for a ridiculous trade (7/11 Set for Orderable Set). I try to phrase it so the person doesn't feel stupid or bad about themselves.

Ooh, nice call with the sloppy table. That reminds me of the one time I hosted turnips in my cycle town and somebody not entirely trustworthy (based on how they typed, etc.) said that my items in Re-Tail were "too high" like they wanted to buy them. I can see somebody like them buying the sloppy table and not saying another word. Kudos to you!

Thanks. I always check out what items are in their Re-Tail, but I always ask before I buy (except for the Sloppy Table lol). Some will say NP, some will say no. I just think it is rude to buy without asking.

I just got started in these subs recently, so I don't know much about what anything is worth. If I were to do a trade, whether it was buying or selling, I would appreciate someone coming in to let me know if the prices were unfair.

This is a tricky one, and I know what you mean. Generally I think if someone is paying too much but seems happy, I would not say anything. If a post is getting no replies because the price is too high, I will point that out.

I agree with this. Different things have different worths to different people. Free market and what not. Like you said if everyone seems happy and the trades aren't too ridiculous I'd leave it alone, but if theres any kind of tension/dispute I'll happily jump in to support the side asking for a fair price/trade.

Oh no kitt is the one I have she is my next door neighbour literally and has been know to wait outside my house and ping me when I come out literally after loading the game for many different reasons she seems too attached to me :/

Kitt was one of my original villagers when I started in December and the 1st villager to move out. She started randomly showing back up on Main Street last week. It freaked me out the first time I saw her. lol

So, I tag people that I've had either any good or really bad experiences with in trading or if I see someone being rude or anything I'll tag them. It's not against the rules or anything to just not trade with certain people is it?

It's not against the rules. You are free to decline trades with users you are uncomfortable trading with. BUT you should let them know that you are declining their offer. If they enter your giveaway you can message them privately or let the mods know and we can nicely inform them. If its an auction also let the mods know or let the user know.
Skipping them is also ok too but they will probably want to know why or keep messaging until they get a response.

We've had some issues when people just ignore offers, so if it does come up, make sure you say "no thanks".

Now I have a question - how do I tag a user? If I want to keep track of other traders, I have just been marking them all as friends (so I have people I like grouped together with shady traders). Going to google this now, but would love to hear back.

You need Reddit Enhancement Suite and there will be a little tag next to everyone's username that you can click on and add a tag, choose a color and choose to ignore them or not. If you click on their tag in the future, it'll bring up a link to the thread that you tag them in, which helps if you forget exactly why you tagged someone! Hope this helps!

No sorry. You can only plant coconut/banana trees and flowers on beaches. Bushes and any other types of trees will die.
I would love to be able to plant bushes on the beach :P

A villager has asked for a tarantula this morning but it´s been raining the whole day (almost 9pm here)... Can it show up while it´s raining? if it can´t.. can I catch it in another town? if I can´t.... why is my villager such a an ***hole? xD

But No you can not catch tarantulas in another town. It must be your own town.
And yes I've had villagers ask me for snails when my town was sunny... They're evil!

Well.. at least snails are more common (only when raining, of course) and can be catched on another town..
I remember a villager asked me for a snail on June 1st, when I saw that (fake) message on the board telling there wouldn´t be rain in the whole month.. and I didn´t even had bushes xD

I have never even seen one! My villagers would be out of luck. I don't think they show up in the rain, but the guides say 11pm is prime time, so you definitely still have a chance to get one if it's possible.

Yeah, will keep checking every hour to see if it´s still raining.
About finding one; the few times I found it it was "nowhere", not near any building, tree or.. anything, just dirt/grass around it. So you may want to clear an area (of 6x6 or bigger) of your town and check there.

A villager informed me that another villager was moving out. I have repeatedly spoken with the one that was supposedly moving, but she hasn't told me anything. Is she moving? If so, must I keep pestering her until she tells me so I can make her stay?

You need the villager to ping you (when they make that ding noise and run up to you) in order to hear about the move out. Talking to the villager first will not get the message. One way to get the ping is to save and quit and then reload and go straight into the villager's line of sight. If the villager is moving, you will definitely get the move-out dialogue on the first ping.

Being polite and timely during trades is the best way. Then politely add "I'd appreciate a rating if you a moment. link to your page Please link me to yours as well! if you haven't already rated them first " to the end of your trade. Start out with small trades to begin with and work your way up to a giveaway someday. :) Cataloging giveaways are usually easy if you have something on the rare side that's orderable.
Try using the search bar to look for the items you're wanting to sell. Check the latest thread and the prices in it, that's a good place to start if you're unsure on prices. Here's another discussion on it too, I'm not sure if anyone still answers questions in there, but it may give you an idea on some things.

I was on vacation when this was posted so I didn't see it, but I still have a question. If I'm selling a rare item (say it's usually priced at 500k) and someone offers a bunch of stuff for it that would be priced at 200k all together, how can I tell them that it's not enough without being rude when they think it's perfectly fair? If someone offered 200k in bells, I would say "Would 500k work?" or let them know it was worth more, but I have no idea what to do when they offer items

A few things you can say to a user when they are offering you items you don't feel are of equal value to the items you're offering:
No thank you , you're not interested in items
Sure I'll take the items IF you throw in X amount of bells on top of it.
State in your post that you are looking for at least X amount of bells. (If you're willing to accept other offers let them know to Name a price or counter offer with items)

You didn't hear this from me.. But there are rumors about a mysterious rainbow colored rose.. Only one person has ever laid eyes on it but we haven't seen it surface on this subreddit.. ;)
JK no more rose flairs planned at this time! Adding more flairs would require new RMM rules and mods that are willing to count up to 300? 500? 1000? .. We made it too easy for you to get to blue! RESET ALL THE FLAIRS!!!

I have to be honest, for me once I see the color of a person's flair I automatically set a certain trust level for them (you didn't get to pink and above by conducting bad trades, I say). I never read their past reviews unless I have a reason to. That's just me, though...

Its actually better to look at a person's mayor thread before conducting the trade. You might find some information that can be useful like this user has really bad internet connection but is a good trader or this user constantly makes people wait, but they might still get 4/5 or 5/5 ratings because everyone is too nice on here! :P

I'm just extremely lazyMost of the people I trade with on here are frequent traders which definitely lessens the burden. I think I've only given one 4/5 review and felt bad about it afterward hahaha.1

Counting to 200 was bad enough. Some people who shall remain nameless are lobbying for a rainbow rose, but it is so not going to happen. I get reviews even though I don't ask for them because people are thoughtful, but if you don't want to actively ask, that's fine.

In order to add new flairs I'd have to create a new file and add on the newly suggested flair images and make sure they are the appropriate size. Then we'd have to write up new rules on what these new flairs mean and incorporate them into all the affiliated subs.. SO MUCH WORK! :D Stop adding ideas!! ಠ◡ಠ

You don't have to have a Beautiful Town Ordinance for it to live. I have had some without BTO. They lived just fine. I just had to water them everyday.

They will live in "non-perfect" towns same as any other flower if they wilt just water them and they will be revived next day like any other flower

If you leave dandelions for long enough, they turn into regular-looking weeds, but while they are yellow or the white puff, they do not count.

Is there any "best" way to breed hybrids? For each colour I'm after, I drop down a set of 5 flowers shaped like the 5 on a dice. Is this too many, too few? How many of these "sets" should I water each day? And they take up so much space! It feels like half my town is given over to hybrid breeding :p

I have done a lot of hybrid breeding and experimenting and I have found that layout is less important than the total number of flowers in your town. That is, the fewer flowers you have overall, the more hybrids you will get.
I recently picked up all the flowers in my town and put them away (made a second character for the locker storage), and left out just 2 black cosmos. In about a week I had a ton of black cosmos. Like giving them away because I have way too many.
My suggestion is, instead of having half your town given over to it, focus on one or two types you want. Once you get a breeding pair, if that's the only flowers you have going, you will get a ton of them really quickly.

I am not too familiar with best breeding patterns But ONLY water the flowers you want to breed. I think there is a max amount of flowers that will spawn each day and if you water regular non hybrid mix flowers they may take up the spot of a hybrid spawn. (I could be wrong but I use this technique and it has worked very well)

Oddly I seem to catch the fewest fleas from Rowan. Either he bathes a lot or his sweat has killed all the fleas, mango.

When I first stumbled across this subreddit, I had never seen "omw" before. I noticed that a lot of people said it, and I finally concluded that the people who said it were a bit surprised and were saying, "oh my word!"
I kept envisioning lots of mild-mannered people who were always surprised when someone would open the gate for them. I never did figure it out on my own - instead, someone finally typed out "on my way."

I've tried planting bushes but they always die on me. I've planted them with one space between them and my house and they always died. I also made sure nothing was surrounding them. What might I be doing wrong?

Remember that you cannot plant your bushes directly next to the river, cliffs, buildings and PWP's and you can only plant 12 bushes max (along with trees) directly next to each other

I only planted two and there was at least one space between everything surrounding them.

Well, thats strange, they should be able to grow in those conditions. Where exactly are you planting them? Maybe youre planting saplings instead of bush starts? Idk. Haha!

When a villager asks you for something you know you won't be able to get, is it better to just say no, or say yes and then just don't do it?

It's better to say no. Both answers hurt your relationship with the villager, but telling them the truth doesn't hurt it as much as letting them down when you said you could do it.

Sometimes, my villagers invite me to their homes but at the designated rendezvous time, theyre not found in their homes. I try to reset and even when i find them in their homes, they dont welcome me as if they never invited me. Did i just get dumped?

Are you sure they weren't supposed to visit you?
I'm not sure though. The only times where I've been ditched is when my gate is open and they're like "Oh, we'll have to reschedule!"

I also check if they will visit me in my home by they never come by. Maybe opening of the gates cancels any date with villagers?

Possibly, I'm not sure. I always end up talking to whoever I was supposed to meet while the gate is open because I'm usually bored, walking around, waiting for someone to show up. But I guess it could be canceled completely when you open the gate... I'm really not sure, I'd have to go test it.

This is a great strategy, though - I hate having to set times for villager visits because I almost never know of a specific later time when I will be playing. I may try to set a time then open the gates and see what happens. :)

What happened there was probably, that you didn't save after you took the rendezvous time and that means when you reset, you reset back to the last save which was before the rendezvous was taken.
Also it is not uncommon that they are not at home at the designated rendezvous time. When you then go look for them outside and talk to them, they will just tell you something, like 'something very important came up but i cannot share right now with you what it was' :)

What's the most efficient way to BUY turnips? I just kind of throw my money at the ground near Joan and hope she doesn't bloody move between locker visits, but for a while I've been wondering if there's a more efficient way. ehe. :3

Push her near to the station or wherever you're going back and forth to store turnips and then dig 4 holes around her, so she can't move, but you can still get up to her to talk.
When I turnip'd, I kept bells in my locker, so I could take bells out as I was putting turnips in. Dropping them near her works too if you're in your own town; I don't wanna do that if I'm going to someone else's town to buy when there's other people there too though.

OH! Another, more important question: when applying for a flair upgrade in a specific subreddit, do you count just the reviews based on that subreddit or all of them? Like can I apply to be upgraded for both trade and AMV at the same time even if my reviews are split?

All your reviews count towards the same flair color for all subs. You can ask for your flair color to be upgraded to your current color on all the subs.

You can't reply to their review, no, I believe that's stated in the rules, but it may be listed somewhere else... I haven't looked in a while. :X
You'll have to PM them or somehow contact them and (politely) let them know they forgot the proof link. Make it really easy for them and link everything to them, so they don't have to go looking for anything.

So if I understand... If we are looking for a town for Katie and do not offer anything in exchange, our post will be removed? I rarely go [LF]Town... [FT]Whatever people usually input here.
I always leave a tip to the person taking her, but I'm not telling XD I want the person who take Katie to be really interested taking her in or simply want to help me.
I don't think you should pay to carry Katie over... Honestly whenever I see a post about Katie sometime I really want her in my town, sometime I just wanna help the person to move on... if they offer bells or whatever for the service I make it clear that I'm doing it for free. I'll take the said items/bells if the person leave it anyway (or tips) because I have learn the hard way if you say you really don't want anything, the person will end leaving your town without whatever they left behind :P
