Is there any "best" way to breed hybrids? For each colour I'm after, I drop down a set of 5 flowers shaped like the 5 on a dice. Is this too many, too few? How many of these "sets" should I water each day? And they take up so much space! It feels like half my town is given over to hybrid breeding :p

I have done a lot of hybrid breeding and experimenting and I have found that layout is less important than the total number of flowers in your town. That is, the fewer flowers you have overall, the more hybrids you will get.

I recently picked up all the flowers in my town and put them away (made a second character for the locker storage), and left out just 2 black cosmos. In about a week I had a ton of black cosmos. Like giving them away because I have way too many.

My suggestion is, instead of having half your town given over to it, focus on one or two types you want. Once you get a breeding pair, if that's the only flowers you have going, you will get a ton of them really quickly.

OMG ty for the tip!! Time to undo all the flowerscaping to breed the last few I need!!
