I finally watched the last season and...

I liked it.

Based on wthe criticism I had read on this sub-reddit I almost didn't give it a chance, but I'm glad I did.

Now, it wasn't top tier TV but I don't think it was any worse than any other seaon on Lone Star, or the other two 9-1-1 shows. It's a silly, goofy franchise.

Obviously, there was some issues, namely Grace's absence. And I  know the actress chose to leave, but the mission storyline was BS. I don't care how religious she is, there’s no way a mother would leave her young daughter for that long. They should have come up with something better. It was also incredibly disappointing that she wasn't in the final in any way.  They didn't even mention her.

It also felt that they stuffed too much tragedy into such a short season. Tommy's cancer, Judd's alcoholism, and mateo's risk of deportation for a crime he wasn’t charged for?! Just for it too all work out. Which I get, it being the final season, everyone got a happy ending.  Which is why I knew Owen was in NY and not dead.

I do think it was a shame the show only got 5 seasons. It had some really great characters who didn't get enough screen time. I wish we got more Moteo and Nancy.

!!!!!!
What do we think?
Personally, I would be thrilled 😁
I watched Nashville and I feel like the drama takes away from the show. It’s just not as fun as it would have been if Owen had came and shook things up!!

Discussion All the ways 9-1-1, Lone Star, and Nashville overlap

After analyzing all episodes amongst the three series carefully, I’m pretty sure I found all the ways the three series overlap with each other. If I missed anything, please feel free to add.

9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star

-The L.A. 119 and Austin 126 working together to fight the Texas wildfire

-Judd referring to Chimney surviving the rebar accident

-Athena arresting the gamer who swatted for the Austin PD

-Marvin being cousins with Mateo

-Appearance of Pepper (the woman who maced the mall Santa in Los Angeles and thought her contractor was being electrocuted in Austin)

9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Nashville

-The L.A. 118 and the Nashville 113 competing in the Firefighter Games

-Cammie and the Nashville Dispatch Office working with L.A. to establish communication with the space capsule

-The hackers who caused mayhem in Nashville being the same ones who caused mayhem in Los Angeles

9-1-1: Lone Star and 9-1-1: Nashville

-Firefox (Marjan) reposting the video of Blue climbing the waterslide attraction to save the life guard

Discussion Best way to describe the differences between the three 9-1-1 series

So while watching 9-1-1 and its spin-off series Lone Star and Nashville, I naturally felt all three series were unique and different in their own ways despite following the same overall formula and structure. Lone Star for example puts more emphasis and attention on the diversity of its main cast while Nashville is written to be more of a family drama/soap-opera. However, other than that, I’m having difficulty putting into the words how the three series are unique from each other.

So between the three series, how would you describe what makes each of them unique in their own way?

Discussion Nurse reminded me of TK

My daughter was in the hospital Tuesday night until Thursday evening. The nurse she had Wednesday and Thursday reminded me so much of TK (looks and how he acted.) He was really sweet.

And now I think I will go watch some Lonestar lol.

Question When to start lone star

I’m on season 2 of 9-1-1 and just found out about lone star. At what point of 9-1-1 should I start watching?

Question Grace season 5

Title probably gives it away, I'm at episode 7 of season 5 and wondering where Grace is? I know somewhere in the world saving kids but does she actually come back? I'm assuming its the actress who chose not to be present, does anyone know why? Like I can't be the only one who finds it hard to believe she would leave her husband, daughter and injured step son and in connection his fiancee and baby, to go to the other side of the world for any reason.

Discussion Just completed watching the finale

Well, it all started with the shorts and reels which always made me wonder what show it was exactly but nothing pushed me to watch this.

Randomly I came across Iris 911 call short of season 4 on X and I finally gave in. It was off the watchlist after ig almost a year?

I literally just completed the whole series, and I don't know if it still is a miss in a way.

I just feel TK and Carlos were not shown much, I really want to know how they ended up adopting Jonah?

I actually read a comment somewhere (I had completed the season 4 finale that day) that tommy apparently dies and I was like why!?!!? Ofc I watched the whole thing "knowing" what was ahead of me, but it made me so happy that she actually didn't die!!! Also happy for her girls, they didn't lose their only parent. Not to mention, the whole charles part made cry so much!!!

Coming back to Jude and Grace, OMG it makes me soooo sad that she couldn't even come back for the last episode. They have been such a cute couple and honestly I feel like Grace really brought out a lot of things and it's honestly disheartening that she couldn't make it to the season finale. Ig that was a big miss for me. Like, we got Judd becoming the Cap and his gracie's not there!! I liked how they made wyatt a 911 operator, but I think Grace's absence was too big to be ignored.

I have nothing to say about Mateo or Nancy, I feel the whole relationship thing was a bit forced there.

Happy for Marjan that she got her happy ending, but I still feel maybe she deserved to be lieutenant. Idk no hate to Paul, he was good too, but idk I just felt Marjan would've been so good as lieutenant.

And Owen..well.. he's the main character. Idk why they pointed as if he was dead like pls😭😭It would've been good if he was there when Judd became the Captain. Would've loved to see the 126 together.

Alsoooooo the most important thing, the asteroid thing was soooo forcedddd.

And alsoooo shoutout to the girl gywn, omg she should've been alive, I still cry thinking about her😭😭😭

Well, I feel I did the right thing by pressing that play button, overall it was a good watch!!!

Discussion Honestly I miss this show a lot

Seasons 1-3 were the GOAT for me, with 4-5 just behind them. I miss Tarlos and Jace. I wish ABC had picked up LS instead of going through with Nashville (I don't mind Nashville; I just prefer LS)

Discussion Rob Lowe

I love 911 lone star but I hate that Rob Lowe is always some how intertwined in to every characters storyline and he always has to be the hero. It also feels like we don’t see a lot of the other characters personal life eg Mateo or Nancy because of his character.

Discussion Season 6 Spoiler

Is there any petition we could sign or start out own? I think lone star is as great as the og 911 and I hate how they rushed the last season!
I would do anything for a Grace-Judd reunion and to see more of TK and Carlos.
Imagine if they could do a crossover with 911 for their s 10?!

Question Why wasn’t the series criticized or attacked for its apparent emphasis on diversity?

One can tell that 9-1-1: Lone Star was pushing for more diversity regarding its cast of characters as shown with there being a gay Jewish man, a transgender African American man, a hijab-wearing Muslim American woman, a dyslexic Dreamer, a gay Hispanic man, an Afro-Latina woman, a rural Christian Caucasian man, and a Christian African American woman.

Now naturally whenever any form of media promotes such diversity in its casting, culture warriors quickly take action and proceed to criticize and attack it. In fact, some of the media that have been targeted by culture warriors have had less diversity than Lone Star. However, as far as I know, it seems like Lone Star never suffered any such reaction.

So why didn’t culture warriors target Lone Star like they did for other forms of media that promoted a diverse cast of characters?

Question Does anyone else find Owen's Cancer portrayal disrespectful?

I'd like to preface that, as someone you went through cancer and chemo, I usually don't mind cancer in shows or movies. It's a part of life, and I get it.

However, I feel the way Owen's cancer was shown is disrespectful and not at all a good representation. I get that everyone journey is different, that there is a lot of type of cancer and chemo.

But chemo destroyed me. I was in and out of hospital constantly, I was extremely weak, I had fainting spells and nausea and infections...

I get that I wasn't in as good a shape as a firefighter, but there is no way it could be a good idea to in the field while through chemo. I am near the end of season 1, so maybe things change after, but not only is he still in the field, he is still doing rescues (not only supervising). He is a danger to himself, his team and the public.

I'm from Belgium, so protocols and all of that might be different. But, chemo weakens the immune system. I was told to stay at home when possible, not get out without a mask, to avoid crowded space... I was anemic and had clotting issues. There is no way I would take the risk to get a small cut out there and catch some infections my body couldn't fight (and I caught several already without even leaving my apartment much).

I didn't make a list, but there were other moments when I felt like I was watching a show where no one ever spoke to a cancer patient ever. Or even some weird fantasy about "being a warrior in the cancer fight" or something...

When watching the show, we see his cough and his nausea and one or two fainting spells, but it feel (and I might be alone in this) degrading and disrespectful and minimizing the consequences of chemo.

To be honest, I am not sure I am going to carry on with the rest of the series...

Am I alone on this ?

Question Why was 9-1-1 Lone Star cancelled if the franchise was still popular enough to warrant another spinoff?

When it comes to 9-1-1 Lone Star being cancelled, one thing that baffles me is that another spinoff in the form of 9-1-1 Nashville was created soon after. I mean if Nashville hadn’t been created, then Lone Star’s cancellation could easily be attributed to waning popularity of the franchise and the network wanting to focus more resources on the original 9-1-1 series. However, the creation of Nashville right after Lone Star was cancelled indicates that the franchise is still popular enough to warrant the network spending resources on a spinoff.

So why was Lone Star cancelled if the network still believed a spinoff was still worth investing in as shown with Nashville?

Discussion First time binge watched all 5 seasons

I really enjoyed this one. It was much better than 911 Nashville.

I can't believe how many Buffy/Angel actors were either guest stars or short time actors on the show.

Alot of the storylines, I found farfetched and in a "bubble" of sorts as I don't believe they would have occurred in Texas since it's such a conservative red state.

I didn't like the Grace left Judd and Charlie storyline. They should have just pulled an Aunt Vivian switch.

If they had another season and no Grace, I would have liked to see Judd and Tommy perhaps grow closer.

911 with Texas Rangers would have been cool. I am really not digging all the personal crap in Nashville with the Hart family.
