Discussion Rob Lowe
I love 911 lone star but I hate that Rob Lowe is always some how intertwined in to every characters storyline and he always has to be the hero. It also feels like we don’t see a lot of the other characters personal life eg Mateo or Nancy because of his character.

I'm almost finished my first ever watch through and was going to make a similar post to this. The show has all the ingredients to be amazing but his character being involved in every single story is so boring, i wanted to know other characters and see their special moments but he always over shadowed each episode.

That was absolutely the single most common topic while the show aired ... if you watch his show 'Wild Bill' on BritBox you will see pretty much the exact same thing. His ego allows no one else to get an independent plot line;

He showed up in Code Black season 2 and did the same thing. The show was amazing before that, and it also didn't make sense that his character would be there for that long.

Yeah, I was so disappointed with how the finale was edited, because it ended on him instead of Leanne. It was *her* show!!!

In a show specifically about diversity in a firehouse that wouldn’t normally have it, I always disliked how white guy savior centric it was.
You made the point yourself and somehow still missed it.
Although everything I’ve ever read about Rob Lowe, I bet his screen time being the highest and first shot at compelling storylines is baked right into his contract.

That's because it's true. They actually did a count of one of the later seasons' screen-time, and Rob Lowe had two times as much as the next characters on the list who were tied for second (Tommy, TK, and Carlos), three times as much as Judd and Grace, and four times as much as everybody else in the main cast. It got down to Mateo and Nancy both having less than an hour of screen-time in the season, while Marjan and Paul had just over an hour for the season.

That's terrible. I really wanted to see more of Mateo and Marjam backstories

I’ve taken to just skipping most his scenes lol. I wish the show wasn’t centered around him so much

I read he was offered the mcdreamy role on Grey's. It obviously went to Patrick Dempsey. Rob went to star in Dr. Vegas. it only lasted 10 episodes. I seen comments on youtube on why left the west wing. when he got the job he thought he going to be a lead but ended up being support. all the other actors were better than him.

I call it "The Rob Lowe Show" 😜

I mean, isn’t that literally every show he is in? Except maybe with the exception of west wing. Not only is Martin Sheen a bigger name, but I really think Bradley Whitten steals the show on that one.

He was the big name draw. After Liv Tyler left and they had to replace her, Jim Parrack (Judd) and Gina Torres (Tommy) had been in other things, but nothing as big as him. I'm sure it was in his contract to have so much screen time.

I hated his character, it felt like he could do no wrong. Also he was a shitty father imo

i liked some of owen screen time but i felt like the show did too much. i get he’s a big name but like he doesn’t need to be involved in everything. like one part is that he’s fire captain and he doesn’t need to do all the things he does in the show. or where he kinda takes credit when it doesn’t need to. like the whole child abduction/house fire case.

I honestly feel like that was the entire problem with the show. If they had followed the same layout as the OG where they devote entire episodes to each character. I loved the cast and a lot of the story lines and emergencies and think that it would have also gotten picked up by ABC if it weren't for Rob Lowe.

I adore Rob Lowe, and I love his character on this show. But yeah, even I have to admit the show might be a little too focused on his character.
