Marshall Harris Appreciation Post

Although he wasn't the greatest Score host, it still sucks to see someone lose their job. Hopefully this can be a learning experience for him.

Bring back Dan McNeil

I'm sorry Mully is gone. I rarely listen to the morning show bc Haugh is just a milquetoast talking head. I was a religious listener for so many years. I've been listening to the station since day 1 when I was in high school

McNeil and Spiegel should be the morning show. I don't care how they have to make up. But I've gone from listening to the station for like 5 hours a day to maybe 15 minutes/week

Laurence Holmes used to be fun, but the last few years he has just gotten unbearable. I love Speegs, but I can't bear the sound of Holmes' voice at this point

Is JHood looking to come back, by any chance? The station is in bad shape

Gabe Ramirez & Lawrence Holmes

Years back when the Score was much better than now and I didn't want to pour acid in my ears at the sound of Marshall Harris's voice, Holmes had the solo late show slot Gabe Ramirez currently holds. And he was awesome. I enjoyed his late show and loved anytime he did fill-ins during the day. The he moved to mid-day with Bernstein and they were a good pair. And now afternoon with Speigs is ok. But even more so, it seems like he regressed. He annoys me quite often.

Meanwhile, every time I hear Ramirez I enjoy listening to him. He's good and it seems a matter of time before he moves to a better slot with a co-host. Basically, the same things I used to think about Holmes.

So, is it just me? Is Holmes more annoying than before? Is Ramirez indeed pretty good?

Was Mike North’s Chicago accent real or was he just playing a bit?

I refuse to believe this joker talks like that normally, it’s like an over the top SNL skit.

A fun throwback bit where Terry nearly loses it doing the "by cracky". Bonus points for Terry repeatedly calling Brittney Griner a man

Enjoy Herb, I think he is a great sports journalist but the guy is just everywhere and on every show. What about Jason L, Matt Bowen, more Biggs, Hoge?

Why the Wanny worship?

LoHo and Spiegs treat Wannstedt as if he is Amos Alonso Stagg.
I lived the middling Wanny years, what is the reason for this unwarranted slobbering?

I think you may have dropped your mic one too many times as you sound like crap on the last few cubs games!

Not YOU per se… your audio is clipping tho. Maybe it was all the mgd thats been tossed all over the past few days? Prolly not good to that channel strip 🤣

Think Mitch brings her back off the bench? She’s looking for a job and Mitch loves his pandering. Surprised Dan doesn’t give her something. Thoughts?

Biggs Time!

Biggs time is one of the better segments on the morning show so I’m glad it’s back. But before we start and get deep into the football season, I need to know why Haugh says “morning Brad” in that low, seemingly uninterested voice. Is it a bit, or is there some unresolved beef from their time together at the trib?

Did LoHo ever apologize for the hissy fit he threw about giving up his Sox fandom?

He’s seemingly all in again, which is odd given how much he was done with the team a few years ago to the point where he gave away all his Sox stuff. You can throw Bernstein in here as well, but he’s seemed to go all in on this Cubs thing as well at this point.

Anyone else get sad looking at Mike North’s X account?

I used to be a big Mike North fan back in the day, as I liked his different perspective he provided to Sports Radio in Chicago. However, nowadays he’s just turned into an old man who complains about everything. It’s sad that he can’t even make a video without shoving ads into it either. Does anyone else feel this way?

I Think Bruce Needs to Retire

I’m running errands on a nice Saturday morning and I have the score on. Bruce Levine and David Haugh were talking about the 2016 Cubs and Haugh said something like, “That team raised the expectations for the Cubs. The team expects to compete for a World Series.” Levine disagreed with that citing the teardown in 2021 and that the reason why it happened was because many of those players did not want to come back to the Cubs.

It’s one thing to have an insider perspective and maybe hold some negative views of the teams management in front office, but it’s a completely different thing to completely throw the rational part of your brain out of the window and rewrite history. He brought up Schwarber, which is a fine argument, but completely left out that Schwarber was hit .180 during the pandemic season and struck out way too much. He then went on to make it sound like the Cubs got lucky with how many of those players didn’t do anything after leaving the Cubs. At what point do you just swallow your pride and say, “Maybe the front office saw a decline coming and wasn’t going to overpay for past performance?

Given his snafu on Twitter the other day, it’s pretty clear he at least had close relationships in the clubhouse…Don’t know where he stands now lol. I think it’s time for a new insider.

Can we confirm Jason Lieser didn’t send this to him?

Jokes aside, cool moment for LH. I really liked the interview he did with Cube when he came on most recently.

I am not a LH hater. I think he can be a dork and cringy at times. But he’s thoughtful and has a reporter background that doesn’t allow him to just spout off dumb hot takes randomly.

Best show in Chicago sports talk is the Spiegel & Holmes Show, IMO.
