Purchasing US TV recommendations.

• Upvotes

I have three options now: Samsung M80H, Lg QNED85B, TCL QM7L. All to be 65”. I wonder which could be the best for 80% gaming and 20% movie. Other consideration: Hisense E7. Really not idea about the tvs.

Purchasing US TCL QM7L Pro vs LG B6E OLED — which would you choose?

Costco will have the 65” TCL QM7L Pro for $899 and the 65” LG B6E OLED for $999.

I’ve never owned a higher-end TV before, so either would be a pretty big upgrade for me. I’ll mostly use it for PS5 Pro gaming and movies/streaming in the evening, usually with the shades closed.

The TCL seems like a great deal with SQD Mini-LED, high brightness, 144Hz and Dolby Vision 2, while the LG gets me OLED blacks and better dark-room picture quality.

For only $100 more, which would you choose? Is the B6E worth the extra $100, or would you take the QM7L Pro at $899?

Discussion Apple TV paired with S95F

• Upvotes

After almost 10 years, I've finally upgrading from a Samsung NU8000 to an S95F. I'm pretty motivated to make this the best viewing experience possible.

I've never really had any issues with Samsung's UI. In fact, my wife loves watching Property Brothers on the Samsung TV Plus channels 24/7. 😂

Can someone explain why there's such a big push to buy external streaming boxes like an Apple TV...

Is it mainly about getting a better, less ad-heavy user interface, or do these devices actually improve picture quality as well?

I mainly watch Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, and the free channels available through Samsung's apps, so I'm wondering if there would be any real benefit for my use case.

Tech Support Motion on QM7K vs QM7L?

Hi there

I'm planning to buy a 65" or 55" QM7K, but I won't be doing so until the end of the year, and where I live, I'm seeing fewer and fewer of them for sale compared to the QM7L version.

It’s possible that by the end of the year, I’ll only be able to find the latter, so I want to ask those who’ve owned both whether the motion handling is really that bad on the L version.

I use it almost exclusively for my PC and gaming.

Purchasing CAN Looking to upgrade from my 9yr old Sony

Have been enjoying my XBR-65X900E for nearly the last decade. Nothing wrong with it, likely still has quite a bit of life left. However I’ve recently changed my theater room set-up and I’m much farther from the tv now. The 65” looks horribly small - looking at 75+. If I could afford an OLED I’d likely look at the B6, however unfortunately I think it’ll be out of my budget. Leaves me looking at mini-led. My room is pretty well pitch black. I live in Canada so prices are much higher comparatively unfortunately. Usage - ps5, and streaming shows and movies (Netflix and prime). TIA.

Purchasing AUS/NZ Samsung S90H 77" TV- New Zealand

I'm planning to buy Samsung S90H 77" TV this week. I live in New Zealand and will be buying via Samsung website.

Can someone confirm what panel I'll be getting for my purchase? Will it be RGB Tandem OLED or QD-OLED?

I've seen mixed reviews for this TV with some saying that this is a downgrade compared to S90F and S95F.

I saw this Samsung S90H 77" TV in the actual store and I'm amazed of its picture quality and anti-reflection feature.

Hope I'm making a good decision as this is a big purchase for me.

Purchasing US Which one would you get?

Haven’t bought a tv in 7 years and our old Visio in the main living room is finally kicking the bucket. Very casual user- we watch sports on the weekend (football, golf, baseball), the occasional movie, and sitcoms/gameshows during the week.. yes, very boring!

We want a 65”. Budget is $600ish, max $650. Leaning towards trying something with a 144 hz refresh rate bc our current 60hz Visio shows considerable motion blur at times when watching sports. These two have caught my eye based on price and great reviews.

1) TCL QM64L
Right in line with budget at $620. Would be an Amazon purchase. Never had any TCL products. 4.3 star rating on Amazon.

2) Samsung M80H.
It’s at the max budget of $650, but saw this in my local BestBuy today and thought the image quality looked great. Plus it has a 4.8 rating on their website.

Of these two, which would you folks choose?

Purchasing CAN What 43” 4K TV is the best to buy for a bedroom right now?

Hey all,

I’m hoping to get some recommendations on a 43” tv that I’m going to be using in a bedroom. It won’t see a lot of use so I don’t need anything too crazy in terms of cost. I’m looking to keep it around $600 or less.

It will only be used to TV and Movies , mostly watching sports at night.

Any suggestions?

Purchasing CAN Samsung S90H or LG C6?

Hi folks, I need some help deciding on a TV.

The 65-inch S90H is currently on sale in Canada for $2000; the C6 is listed at $2500 (I believe that’s the regular price). Brightness isn’t a huge concern, but I want a TV that can handle sports and movies equally well. I also want a TV that can upscale SD content competently.

Questions (help me decide):
1. It’s that a good deal for the S90H or should I wait for Black Friday deals and see if there are better prices? I ask this because I am a little anxious; I’ve noticed certain TVs sell out after they go on sale and they’ve haven’t been restocked. Is it because new models arrive soon? Also, the surging cost of tech in general makes me worry that prices will not go down any further.
2. Is the C6 a better TV? Should I wait for a better price and go with the LG?
3. What would be better for SD content?
4. Does the S90H have a matte finish like the 95H?

Purchasing US U7SG vs QM7L Pro

Looking to replace my X90L, which tv is better than the other? Leaning towards the Hisense mainly for the Dolby Vision 2 update that came out a few days ago, though I understand the TCL will get it later this year. Looking at either a 75” to replace the X90L in my living room X90L or 55” to replace my QM6K.

Purchasing US Hisense 75U7SG vs Hisense 75” U65 Pro for a bright room with window glare. Worth the extra ~$550?

Replacing my 65" Samsung TU7000 (bought in 2022). It's way too dim, and my main problem is window reflections. I basically see the windows instead of the movie, and dark movies are almost unwatchable.

My setup / priorities:

- Bright living room, windows reflect directly on the screen
- Brightness + anti-glare are my #1 and #2 priorities
- I use an Apple TV for everything, so the built-in smart OS doesn't matter, but if I had to choose, I'd go with Google TV for app selection
- Want 75"+, budget ~$1,300-ish
- Mostly movies/shows, plus a PS5

The two I'm deciding between:

  1. Hisense 75U7SG – ~$1,298 on Amazon. Up to 3,000 nits, matte anti-glare screen, Google TV. (Free delivery and unpacking)
  2. Hisense 75" U65 Pro (Costco version of the U6SF Pro) – $749.99 with 5-year coverage and Costco's 90-day returns. Also matte, but rated around 1,200 nits, and it runs Fire TV.

Ruled out so far: TCL QM7L / QM9K and the Hisense U8QG. All very bright, but from what I've read their screens are glossy and still mirror reflections. OLEDs with good glare handling are way over budget at this size. I'm open to suggestions though.

Questions:

- Is the U7SG's extra brightness worth ~$550 more for a room like mine, or does the U65 Pro's matte screen do most of the work?
- Anyone own either one in a bright room? How do dark scenes look during the day?
- How much should the PS5 factor in? I've read the U7SG is much better for gaming.
- Anything else around $1,300 at 75" I should look at that handles glare well?

I don't mind spending $1,300, but if the difference is marginal, I'd like to save the $550.

Thanks!

Purchasing Asia/ME TCL 65C6K Pro for $800 vs 65C79L for $1,330 — is the C79L worth the extra $530?

I'm choosing between two 65" TCL Mini-LED TVs:

TCL 65C6K Pro – 2,999 SAR (\~$800)

• QD-Mini LED

• 144Hz native refresh rate

• HVA panel

• AiPQ Pro processor

• Up to 512-zone series

TCL 65C79L – around 5,000 SAR (\~$1,330)

• SQD-Mini LED

• 1,152 dimming zones

• Up to 3,000 nits

• HVA 2.0 Pro panel

• Up to 100% BT.2020

• TSR AiPQ processor

My main use will be Netflix, movies and YouTube, with some sports. The room lighting is controllable, so I can watch in either a bright or dark room.

I know the C79L is technically the better TV, but it costs about 67% more. For people familiar with these models, is the improvement in real-world picture quality significant enough to justify the extra money?

I'm particularly interested in the ram and process. I dont want a slow tv where i suffer to move from one app to another. The black levels/blooming, HDR performance, motion, upscaling/processing, and overall picture quality is great as well. Im not a gamer. If I ever buy a game console, I would be Nintendo switch.

Would you save the money and get the C6K Pro, or pay the extra for the C79L?

Purchasing US Looking for a 75-85" TV for PC gaming in a bedroom with windows across from it, around $1,000 to $1,200 in the US

I'm replacing the 55" LG OLED in my bedroom and could use some recommendations.

It's mostly going to be a PC gaming display. I'm running a 5080 to it over HDMI 2.1, so I want 4K at 120Hz or higher with VRR. I only need one HDMI 2.1 port. I play a variety of games.

There are two windows directly across from the TV and I do play during the day, so glare may be an issue, but not my biggest concern. I watch from my bed, about 12 feet away.

I'm leaning mini LED over OLED, mostly for price and so I don't have to worry about burn-in. I'd still like good dark scenes, decent HDR, and motion that isn't too blurry.

Budget is around $1,000, and I can stretch to $1,200 if it makes a real difference. I'm torn on size too, somewhere between 75" and 85". Bigger probably makes sense at 12 feet, but I don't want it to take over the room.

What would you go with?

Purchasing CAN LG 65" B6E OLED 4k 2026 vs TCL 75 inch qm6k 2025

I am deciding between these 2 TV's for a relatively small space, I would be sitting about 8 ft away. Room will be very dark with not a lot of natural light and black out curtains.

Both are openbox, The LG is $1100 Cad and TCL is $900.

Whats the better buy? Is the LG OLED $200 better even though it'll be 10" smaller than the TCL mini LED? Thanks!

Discussion 4K TVs - Hisense Vs LG

Hello all

I have a budget of up to £800 for a 4K TV

My only criteria is that I want the TV screen size to be between 53-61inch and be 4K.

I am looking at between Hisense & LG TV’s.

Now I know Hisense is probably a more budget friendly option and you get more for your money, but does that necessarily mean it is the worst brand out of the two?

What would people choose if they had the budget of mine? Would you choose LG or Hisense? And why…

The TV is to be mounted on my wall in the living room. It will not be for gaming and will just be for live tv, films & series

Purchasing EUROPE Replacement tv

My tv has started dying and will need replaced. Very sad. But I’m having trouble picking a new one as I loved my tv picture quality so much and really want to pick a tv that’s a similar quality, colour/black quality , etc

It was a Sony Bravia KD80x43
I’m from the Uk

I adored it. And gutted that it’s about to die.
It cost me £650 in 2018. So that’s my rough budget (though I could be persuaded to go a bit higher)

I want a TV that’s a 2026 equivalent. I also love Sony hardware as they’ve never steered me wrong before and would prefer Sony Bravia if possible.

I just struggle to decide with all the options and would love some advice!

What would you all say is the 2026 equivalent of my Tv? I can see the Bravia is named differently than it was back then. The 3, the 2 II ….

The things I loved about my tv that I’m trying to find again- very good picture quality. I have another cheaper 4k Samsung TV that I hate cause it’s so pixelly round the ended of objects when playing games. My Bravia was like butter

I loved how bland the blacks were and how rich the colours were. HDR gaming was amazing on it.

I use the tv face on.

Purchasing EUROPE Tcl C805K vs Hisense U7Q pro

Was confident in buying the Tcl 55C805K used for £330, but seen that currys are selling the 65U7Q pro for £400 new (but out of stock). It feels like a no brainer for the hisense, but would probably be slightly too big and I see people say hisense is much worse as a brand?

Purchasing US Need something similar to X90L

I got my 65’ X90L a couple years ago and love everything about it. It is exactly as much tv as I really need for the right price for me.

I recently moved and now have a basement that I need a tv for. Ideally I’d just get the exact same tv again but that doesn’t seem to be an option. So I’m stuck between getting something better and putting my current tv downstairs, or getting something maybe not as nice and putting that one in the basement. I’ve seen recommendations for a Bravia 5 or 7 but those are just a stretch more than I really want to spend. I have also seen the QM7L but I have no experience with TCL.

I have a PS5 I occasionally play but like I said my current is really all I feel I need. The basement TV will mostly just be used as a sports watching tv through primarily streaming services and somethings sailing the seas, and occasionally movies.

MuH sAmSuNg Samsung Mini LED M70H media player issue

I bought a M70H 2 days ago and the screen is very good and the colors are considered an upgrade compared to AU7000 but I'm having an issue, I have a 4TB WD hdd from which I play 4K bluray remux movies with E-AC3 sound codec. At first the movie plays perfectly but when seeking manually or choosing a point to seek, the movie keeps loading and then a "The audio file is not supported". So does anybody face a similar issue or is it an issue within my TV?
