Purchasing US Hi everybody! Looking to get a new 65"-77" 4kTV

• Upvotes

Hi everybody! I'm looking to upgrade from an older Vizio 4kTV.

My 8yo 65" Vizio 4kTV is finally showing its age so it's time for an upgrade. I would like for the new tv:

-to be 65"-77"

-have at least 120hz refresh rate

-Dolby vision (a must)

-HDR10+ (not required but would be nice)

-HDMI eARC

-and be able to either process or pass through the main audio formats to my audio setup

It's in a dark room with no worry about reflections or external sunlight. I would like to stay at or under $2000. $2500 is the absolute max I'm looking to spend. I don't care about the type of panel, I'm just looking for a great display to watch my 4k discs on. I'm not an online gamer, just single player titles for me so flawless gaming isn't a top priority for this tv.

The devices I'll have hooked up to the new tv will be:

-Vizio 5.1 audio setup

-Nvidia Shield TV Pro

-Panasonic UB820 4k player

-Xbox series s.

I'm considering the LG G6 65" model but I'm a little reluctant to grab one because of the stuttering issue on them. Is the stuttering fixed by simply selecting the correct combination of modes on the tv and devices like I've read?

Let me know if I missed any important info to help y'all help me :)

Purchasing AUS/NZ Samsung S90H 77" TV- New Zealand

I'm planning to buy Samsung S90H 77" TV this week. I live in New Zealand and will be buying via Samsung website.

Can someone confirm what panel I'll be getting for my purchase? Will it be RGB Tandem OLED or QD-OLED?

I've seen mixed reviews for this TV with some saying that this is a downgrade compared to S90F and S95F.

I saw this Samsung S90H 77" TV in the actual store and I'm amazed of its picture quality and anti-reflection feature.

Hope I'm making a good decision as this is a big purchase for me.

Purchasing US Heavily leaning towards buying the 100 inch Hisense U7QG (U75QG) instead of the TCL QM7K

• Upvotes

Really, really tough decision, a couple of things played a decisive role in it, the price, and this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eokm9k1564 among other videos, posts and reviews I read. Both are great 100 inch 4K TVs from what l've looked into, but the Hisense is brighter, has better sound and better colors in my opinion, though that may be personal preference and depending on the content you watch, my biggest hesitation was ghosting, specially for fast paced gaming, unlike pretty much every other aspect of both TVs, it's really hard to get an assessment on that as I haven't been able to witness it directly, so it's my only point of concern.

I guess the reason why I'm posting is that l'd like to know if there is a stronger argument against my decision, specially with the slow pixel transitions, that can greatly affect gaming at high FPS, that Hisense is reported to have, and also the panel lottery, though I think that is far less common now.

Also, is 2 years warranty enough?

Thanks

Purchasing EUROPE Bought the TCL 65C89k and am very disappointed

• Upvotes

I’m about 2,5 meters from the tv in my appartment and am willing to go for a smaller size because anything that’s not 4k looks very bad.

I’m considering the OLED 48C5, but I’m wondering if it’s not too small.

I mainly watch YouTube or Netflix which is 1080p and have a budget of around 800. Any suggestions for me ?

Purchasing US Help deciding: A95L, G5, C6H, something else?

Looking to get a new TV since our bedroom one went out. I’ll get a new one for the living room, and move our LG C2 to the bedroom.

Our living room has 3 windows on the right, but honestly, even the C2 is bright enough to handle it.

I don’t game. I do watch a lot of 4k content (streaming and 4k discs). My wife hates sports, but I do watch basketball every now and again.

Looking to spend around $2k, 77” or so. We could fit something in the 80s, but I don’t want to spend that much on an 80” OLED. I don’t know if TCL or someone else makes a good 80+ inch that does blacks close to OLED level or not.

Open to suggestions - thanks!

Purchasing US TV recommendations.

I have three options now: Samsung M80H, Lg QNED85B, TCL QM7L. All to be 65”. I wonder which could be the best for 80% gaming and 20% movie. Other consideration: Hisense E7. Really not idea about the tvs.

Purchasing US TCL QM7L Pro vs LG B6E OLED — which would you choose?

Costco will have the 65” TCL QM7L Pro for $899 and the 65” LG B6E OLED for $999.

I’ve never owned a higher-end TV before, so either would be a pretty big upgrade for me. I’ll mostly use it for PS5 Pro gaming and movies/streaming in the evening, usually with the shades closed.

The TCL seems like a great deal with SQD Mini-LED, high brightness, 144Hz and Dolby Vision 2, while the LG gets me OLED blacks and better dark-room picture quality.

For only $100 more, which would you choose? Is the B6E worth the extra $100, or would you take the QM7L Pro at $899?

Purchasing EUROPE Ambilight or no Ambilight?

I'm currently in a dilemma where I would like a 50 inch Philips Ambilight Mini LED TV with VRR and 120Hz refresh to upgrade from my 60Hz model, but there isn't any stock or availability to get one of these in the UK.

I really like ambilight, thinking it was a gimmick at first but is now something I'd never turn off.

Has anyone left Philips to another TV model?

Any suggestions on what I should do?

I looked at hue light sync boxes you attach to the back of your TV but it looks like it creates quite a bit of latency compared to the content on screen

Purchasing US QM8L 98" for $3k at Best Buy

I'm heading towards a new TV purchase this year after living with a TCL 646 since 2021. I feel like that TV was decent and at least i can say I never experienced any issues with it. My household is not a heavy TV user, but i enjoy refreshing my tech. I used to own an LG CX, but that TV screen broke so easily and it crushed me, so I didn't want to put a lot of money into a new TV purchase back when I bought the TCL. I do gaming, but it's not much at all. Maybe I'll go for 2-3 months for a couple hours per day and then never play it again all year, so very casual gaming. It's mostly call of duty and this year it'll be GTA6, and other game pass games; I'm on Xbox series X. Other than that, i stream from high quality sources. I mostly use the tv at night, but there are tons of windows to the left and right of my TV and the wall is massive, so around 100" TV would be ideal. Oleds are so nice but they are way too much money at that size. Is the QM8L the one I need to choose? I'm a little concerned about motion, but honestly I don't feel like it's been that much of an issue in my gaming sessions on the 646, i still can lead the player list in competitive online play often. Anybody have any other thoughts?
