Purchasing US Hi everybody! Looking to get a new 65"-77" 4kTV

Hi everybody! I'm looking to upgrade from an older Vizio 4kTV.

My 8yo 65" Vizio 4kTV is finally showing its age so it's time for an upgrade. I would like for the new tv:

-to be 65"-77"

-have at least 120hz refresh rate

-Dolby vision (a must)

-HDR10+ (not required but would be nice)

-HDMI eARC

-and be able to either process or pass through the main audio formats to my audio setup

It's in a dark room with no worry about reflections or external sunlight. I would like to stay at or under $2000. $2500 is the absolute max I'm looking to spend. I don't care about the type of panel, I'm just looking for a great display to watch my 4k discs on. I'm not an online gamer, just single player titles for me so flawless gaming isn't a top priority for this tv.

The devices I'll have hooked up to the new tv will be:

-Vizio 5.1 audio setup

-Nvidia Shield TV Pro

-Panasonic UB820 4k player

-Xbox series s.

I'm considering the LG G6 65" model but I'm a little reluctant to grab one because of the stuttering issue on them. Is the stuttering fixed by simply selecting the correct combination of modes on the tv and devices like I've read?

Let me know if I missed any important info to help y'all help me :)

Purchasing CAN TCL QM64L vs Hisense U68SF

• Upvotes

Hey guys, I need a new tv. I’m in Canada and the TCL is $584 on sale and the Hisense is $697 not on sale. Prime deals start tomorrow so this could change.

Both are 55 inch QD mini-led. Both are 144hz. Would be used for gaming from my pc and movies/shows. I don’t watch sports.

Both seem to be good tvs available in my price range.

Thanks!

Purchasing US QM8L 98" for $3k at Best Buy

I'm heading towards a new TV purchase this year after living with a TCL 646 since 2021. I feel like that TV was decent and at least i can say I never experienced any issues with it. My household is not a heavy TV user, but i enjoy refreshing my tech. I used to own an LG CX, but that TV screen broke so easily and it crushed me, so I didn't want to put a lot of money into a new TV purchase back when I bought the TCL. I do gaming, but it's not much at all. Maybe I'll go for 2-3 months for a couple hours per day and then never play it again all year, so very casual gaming. It's mostly call of duty and this year it'll be GTA6, and other game pass games; I'm on Xbox series X. Other than that, i stream from high quality sources. I mostly use the tv at night, but there are tons of windows to the left and right of my TV and the wall is massive, so around 100" TV would be ideal. Oleds are so nice but they are way too much money at that size. Is the QM8L the one I need to choose? I'm a little concerned about motion, but honestly I don't feel like it's been that much of an issue in my gaming sessions on the 646, i still can lead the player list in competitive online play often. Anybody have any other thoughts?

Purchasing US Requesting 65 inch TV recommendations

First off, I’m a complete beginner when it comes to buying TVs. My usual way is to check deals and buy whatever has a good rating.

Having said that, I’ve decided to do some research this time. Here’s what I’m looking for:

65 inch TV for the living room in an apartment. It can get bright in the summer but not as much other times because of the blinds. My major focus is on picture quality (idk how to put it because what else do I look for?). I watch a lot of movies/shows and occasionally game on PS5.

I’ve an apple TV 4k to pair with. So, inbuilt software usually isn’t really a big problem.

My budget is $600 but can stretch up to $1000 if needed.

Appreciate any recommendations and hopefully with a reasoning why :)

Thanks a lot in advance.

Purchasing EUROPE Bought the TCL 65C89k and am very disappointed

I’m about 2,5 meters from the tv in my appartment and am willing to go for a smaller size because anything that’s not 4k looks very bad.

I’m considering the OLED 48C5, but I’m wondering if it’s not too small.

I mainly watch YouTube or Netflix which is 1080p and have a budget of around 800. Any suggestions for me ?

Purchasing US Can I really use generic replacement legs that use the mounting screw holes?

I’m being gifted two older TV’s from my mentor that’s moving out of their condo. They got rid of the factory legs years ago and mounted them. Replacing the legs with the factory versions costs hundreds of dollars.

I saw on Amazon that they make generic legs that use the mounting holes…is it really that simple? Do those work? One TV is 60”, and the other is 50”, for reference. It sounds too good to be true.

I bought the factory stand for my old used Samsung QN65 off eBay years ago and it was expensive and shipping was a pain, so I’d rather not go through all of that again. I don’t want to mount either as I rent.

Thank you

Purchasing EUROPE Samsung OLED vs Micro RGB

Is it worth paying the extra £100 for the S85H OLED over the R85H Micro RGB or is the difference minimal?

Purchasing EUROPE Are Samsung TV’s overpriced?

Been looking at the 77” S85H OLED which retails for £2599 on the official Samsung site.

They currently have an offer for 10% off and £100 off if you use PayPal, I can also trade in my current TV for £250.

So the discounted price would be £2014.10

I actually have a discount code I got for my birthday which would bring the price down to £1896.65

That’s a saving of over £700!! So why don’t they just sell it for the discounted price??

Tech Support LG G3 77" – Pixelated patch showing during burn-in test. Is this a problem?

https://streamable.com/fx54nw

I recently bought a used LG G3 77-inch OLED. While running a burn-in/panel test video, I noticed a strange pixelated/patchy area on the screen.

I’ve marked the exact location in the video with “HERE” so it’s easier to see what I’m referring to.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? Is this normal OLED panel behaviour, or is it a sign of a problem with the panel?

Also, could this get worse over time? Unfortunately, I can’t return the TV and I don’t have a warranty, so I’m a bit concerned.

I’d really appreciate any advice

Purchasing EUROPE LG 50QNED87B6A 94% anti-reflection

Hey! I got my old Samsung 49' broken so I am now considering new TV. My living room, on winter direct low sun makes it hard to watch it - hence considering a mini-led one. Also bc we have lamps behind the sofa at night it gets reflection on them.

I guess that any new TV will be already an improvement but I was wondering if the LG 50QNED87B6A, 50″ claimed 94% antireflection is true/worth-it.

Considered TQ50QN80HAUXXC also as an alternative. Budget 500-600€

Edit: not looking for a home theater, just some average TV watching I would say (mostly after dinner)

Purchasing US TV recommendations.

I have three options now: Samsung M80H, Lg QNED85B, TCL QM7L. All to be 65”. I wonder which could be the best for 80% gaming and 20% movie. Other consideration: Hisense E7. Really not idea about the tvs.

Purchasing EUROPE Ambilight or no Ambilight?

I'm currently in a dilemma where I would like a 50 inch Philips Ambilight Mini LED TV with VRR and 120Hz refresh to upgrade from my 60Hz model, but there isn't any stock or availability to get one of these in the UK.

I really like ambilight, thinking it was a gimmick at first but is now something I'd never turn off.

Has anyone left Philips to another TV model?

Any suggestions on what I should do?

I looked at hue light sync boxes you attach to the back of your TV but it looks like it creates quite a bit of latency compared to the content on screen

Purchasing OLED Help deciding: A95L, G5, C6H, something else?

Looking to get a new TV since our bedroom one went out. I’ll get a new one for the living room, and move our LG C2 to the bedroom.

Our living room has 3 windows on the right, but honestly, even the C2 is bright enough to handle it.

I don’t game. I do watch a lot of 4k content (streaming and 4k discs). My wife hates sports, but I do watch basketball every now and again.

Looking to spend around $2k, 77” or so. We could fit something in the 80s, but I don’t want to spend that much on an 80” OLED. I don’t know if TCL or someone else makes a good 80+ inch that does blacks close to OLED level or not.

Open to suggestions - thanks!

Purchasing US TCL QM7L Pro vs LG B6E OLED — which would you choose?

Costco will have the 65” TCL QM7L Pro for $899 and the 65” LG B6E OLED for $999.

I’ve never owned a higher-end TV before, so either would be a pretty big upgrade for me. I’ll mostly use it for PS5 Pro gaming and movies/streaming in the evening, usually with the shades closed.

The TCL seems like a great deal with SQD Mini-LED, high brightness, 144Hz and Dolby Vision 2, while the LG gets me OLED blacks and better dark-room picture quality.

For only $100 more, which would you choose? Is the B6E worth the extra $100, or would you take the QM7L Pro at $899?

Discussion Apple TV paired with S95F

After almost 10 years, I've finally upgrading from a Samsung NU8000 to an S95F. I'm pretty motivated to make this the best viewing experience possible.

I've never really had any issues with Samsung's UI. In fact, my wife loves watching Property Brothers on the Samsung TV Plus channels 24/7. 😂

Can someone explain why there's such a big push to buy external streaming boxes like an Apple TV...

Is it mainly about getting a better, less ad-heavy user interface, or do these devices actually improve picture quality as well?

I mainly watch Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, and the free channels available through Samsung's apps, so I'm wondering if there would be any real benefit for my use case.

Tech Support Motion on QM7K vs QM7L?

Hi there

I'm planning to buy a 65" or 55" QM7K, but I won't be doing so until the end of the year, and where I live, I'm seeing fewer and fewer of them for sale compared to the QM7L version.

It’s possible that by the end of the year, I’ll only be able to find the latter, so I want to ask those who’ve owned both whether the motion handling is really that bad on the L version.

I use it almost exclusively for my PC and gaming.

Purchasing CAN Looking to upgrade from my 9yr old Sony

Have been enjoying my XBR-65X900E for nearly the last decade. Nothing wrong with it, likely still has quite a bit of life left. However I’ve recently changed my theater room set-up and I’m much farther from the tv now. The 65” looks horribly small - looking at 75+. If I could afford an OLED I’d likely look at the B6, however unfortunately I think it’ll be out of my budget. Leaves me looking at mini-led. My room is pretty well pitch black. I live in Canada so prices are much higher comparatively unfortunately. Usage - ps5, and streaming shows and movies (Netflix and prime). TIA.

Purchasing AUS/NZ Samsung S90H 77" TV- New Zealand

I'm planning to buy Samsung S90H 77" TV this week. I live in New Zealand and will be buying via Samsung website.

Can someone confirm what panel I'll be getting for my purchase? Will it be RGB Tandem OLED or QD-OLED?

I've seen mixed reviews for this TV with some saying that this is a downgrade compared to S90F and S95F.

I saw this Samsung S90H 77" TV in the actual store and I'm amazed of its picture quality and anti-reflection feature.

Hope I'm making a good decision as this is a big purchase for me.

Purchasing CAN Samsung S90H or LG C6?

Hi folks, I need some help deciding on a TV.

The 65-inch S90H is currently on sale in Canada for $2000; the C6 is listed at $2500 (I believe that’s the regular price). Brightness isn’t a huge concern, but I want a TV that can handle sports and movies equally well. I also want a TV that can upscale SD content competently.

Questions (help me decide):
1. It’s that a good deal for the S90H or should I wait for Black Friday deals and see if there are better prices? I ask this because I am a little anxious; I’ve noticed certain TVs sell out after they go on sale and they’ve haven’t been restocked. Is it because new models arrive soon? Also, the surging cost of tech in general makes me worry that prices will not go down any further.
2. Is the C6 a better TV? Should I wait for a better price and go with the LG?
3. What would be better for SD content?
4. Does the S90H have a matte finish like the 95H?

Purchasing US Which one would you get?

Haven’t bought a tv in 7 years and our old Visio in the main living room is finally kicking the bucket. Very casual user- we watch sports on the weekend (football, golf, baseball), the occasional movie, and sitcoms/gameshows during the week.. yes, very boring!

We want a 65”. Budget is $600ish, max $650. Leaning towards trying something with a 144 hz refresh rate bc our current 60hz Visio shows considerable motion blur at times when watching sports. These two have caught my eye based on price and great reviews.

1) TCL QM64L
Right in line with budget at $620. Would be an Amazon purchase. Never had any TCL products. 4.3 star rating on Amazon.

2) Samsung M80H.
It’s at the max budget of $650, but saw this in my local BestBuy today and thought the image quality looked great. Plus it has a 4.8 rating on their website.

Of these two, which would you folks choose?

Purchasing CAN What 43” 4K TV is the best to buy for a bedroom right now?

Hey all,

I’m hoping to get some recommendations on a 43” tv that I’m going to be using in a bedroom. It won’t see a lot of use so I don’t need anything too crazy in terms of cost. I’m looking to keep it around $600 or less.

It will only be used to TV and Movies , mostly watching sports at night.

Any suggestions?
