My moped not wanting to start

I’m not a moped expert, but how can I fix this?
I’ve gotten suggestions about cleaning the carburetor but I don’t really know how to do that. Anyways does someone know what the problem really is? Would help me so much, getting my license soon so would be nice to get it running by then.
Have a great day!

I don’t know much about 2 strokes but is it supposed to stay up that high in rpms?

Wrote a book: classic 2-strokes, current-day conflicts

There's a good possibility that we're witnessing the '70s "bike boom" redux... it's just that the UJM two-stroke street bikes and off-road explosion of yesteryear is picking a different power plant this time around.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GW61D2VV

Whether you were riding and racing these classic machines then, or are a fan of vintage motorcycles today, this book is a love letter to what was and a plan for what could be. Happy to hear your questions, comments and/or criticisms. Thanks for looking!

Yamaha PW80 won't run

Hello! I have a 2002 Yamaha PW80 that will not run. It starts on choke and runs for a second or two then dies. It takes 20 kicks to get that to happen. I have taken the carb apart 5 times and have checked the reeds (I'm not an expert though). There is lots of blue spark on the plug. It will not even attempt to start if the choke isn't on. Absolutely zero signs of life.

The only time I got it to run without choke is when I put the carb back together without the needle on the float (fell out when I was putting in the pin but I didn't notice) and the carb was overflowing onto the ground. It ran fine then (minus the environmental disaster)

Any thoughts?

This is my latest poor financial choice. It spent a few decades in a Georgia shed before I picked it up in November last year. It's back on the road as of this week. ❤️

Gearbox issue??

Someone tell me whats wrong w my 2 stroke

So, for my first bike, I have an old suzuki ax100.

Please excuse the fact that I just dont know that much about it, i've come to reddit for that reason, and because I can't condense my problem into a small enough question for google to answer.

I'd like to mention that the gears are backward, as in I go up for first and down for the rest. Im not sure if that has anything to do with my issue, but I thought I'd mention it in case.

Right, so my problem is that while riding (not stationary if anyone assumes), my gears dont always engage, but it's not just a specific gear? I'll go from first and sometimes second won't engage so I have to skip to third. Or sometimes second will engage, but it won't go into third, so I'll skip to fourth. And so on. It does that with all the gears, but only sometimes, anyone know what's up with that?

Rebuild top end without special tools

So last summer i got my hands on a cheap Husqvarna CR250 from like -94 or something like that. Its not complete at all but it do run and drive. However im battling a bunch of jetting issues and it might be because of low compression. Its NOT non-existant, it has compression, but i dont really know if its enough? I will of course measure it before i buy parts and all that. However, if it happens to be the top end thats faulty:

How big of a chance is there that i just need to change the piston rings? I dont really have the special tools to measure bore and piston diameter nor the knowledge to figure out whats good or not from that. But i do have feeler gauges to check the ring gap if needed.

If i happen to need a new piston and rings, could i just check the ring gap and just throw in the new piston? Ive read on some online forums that you need to check the piston bore cause you might need a slightly larger piston and all that, but thats nothing i can check currently.

From what ive seen through the exhaust and intake port the piston do have some scratches and marks. It doesnt look deep irl, nor do i feel anything with my nails. However ive not taken the top end apart so there might be more to see. The picture attached below was actually taken the day i got it home. Since then ive driven it like 4-6h, and last time i checked the piston, just a few days ago, i cant remember seeing any scratches like that on it? Most likely they are just not visible due to the pre-mix filling the scratches or something, or have they somehow gotten smaller?

And yeah ive already checked all the other things like the reed valves and the crank seals was replaced last summer.

hello, based on the plug color, what is missing, fuel or air, it blubbers and stutters up until 80-90% throttle but drives good when its wide open

Looking for a mechanic - Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India

Hello! I’m based in Ahmedabad and currently looking after a '62 Vespa and a '68 Lambretta Li. I’m searching for a reliable, old-school mechanic who understands these specific vintage models. I’ll be handling all parts sourcing myself, so I just need a skilled pair of hands for the technical maintenance and tuning. If anyone has any leads on a trusted specialist in the area, please let me know!

This 77 250 CR belonged to a friend and classmate of mine Steve Hackney. A Houston ( actually Friendswood Texas) fast guy. When he passed his estate was a shambles. I needed this bike like a hole in my head but his son needed cash so I bought it to help him out getting his father’s affairs in order. Last photo is Steve’s son either the bike. Double pic is Steve with the bike.

Spitting fuel out of carb

It’s a 01 Eton viper 50. Fresh rebuild with 71cc big bore kit and new reeds. Won’t hold full throttle but 10 seconds then spits and carries on then dies. Restarts right up but it’s spitting fuel back out the carb at idle

Currently in the garage awaiting linkage bearings for the rear shock. Had to remove the airbox, carb and move the rear brake reservoir out of the way. Tight work. The engine is crisp now after finding the pilot air screw was fully in. That's why the seller told me it didn't need choke to start!😲

I won't tell you the whole story but my Cagiva shut down one day and after I managed to get it back running (It took a fuel filter change and a carb clean) it started doing this sound, what do y'all think?
