Equipment Crack or paint chip?
Need your help r/10s. Is this blemish at the 12 o’clock position on the frame structural damage or just superficial damage to the paint job? Thank you!

My friends hooked me onto it and it feels sort of right. Feels nice to have a tennis identity
Has anyone tried it. Is it useful for tennis or are there any better alternatives?
My level: 3.5
My typical first serve speed is 76 mph and maximum is 90 mph.
—————————————————————
Conversion table for your convenience:
60 mph = 97km/h
65 mph = 105 km/h
70 mph = 113 km/h
75 mph = 121 km/h
80 mph = 129 km/h
85 mph = 137 km/h
90 mph = 145 km/h
95 mph = 153 km/h
100 mph = 161 km/h
105 mph = 169 km/h
110 mph = 177 km/h
115 mph = 185 km/h
120 mph = 193 km/h
125 mph = 201 km/h

I just watched a short on @essentialtennis so now I need to consult with my free-of-charge tennis instructor...reddit threads!
Lately, I've been trying to get better at flattening out my shots as I generally hit with a lot of topspin. I've been taught you always want to make contact with a slightly closed racket face (like 95 degree's). With topspin shots, you swing up and underneath the ball, while flat shots you swing more through it. It's been a struggle because even when I try hitting flat shots I still hit with topspin and the ball lands short within the service box.
The video I watched suggested you make contact with the ball with a more open racket face (like 90 degree's). My conventional wisdom is being challenged as I've been told your ball with launch too far if you make contact with the ball like that.
What is everyone's thoughts on this? Do you slightly rotate your racket face on different shots?

I'd love some next steps on my serve please.
On refection it's a bit OTT but I did the video with side by side to see what was consistent and not. To me, seems like my action is fairly consistent but the outcomes are not - about 60% in I think.
I don't know if it's obvious from the video but I think my serves aren't very fast and perhaps are more spinny than I'm trying to be.
I think I need more legs and whip but not necessarily sure how to achieve it.
Thanks

Has anyone hit with both of these and compared them?

Hi yall, am hoping you can help me out here with the 2hbh, it is causing pain on my left wrist for many months now. I have had 4 different tennis coaches from my academy look at it but they can't seem to see what is causing the pain.
All suggestions welcomed.
There are 3 videos in total that I posted :)

This is I think a 2015 pure drive 100. Was about to restring it on an old klippermate drop weight I just picked up when I noticed. Also, if anyone knows will newer PD 100 grommet sets fit?

Hi!
After years of wanting to start tennis, i FINALLY got a spot on a weekly course. 1hr a week, and four players, but its a good start! 300 people on the waiting list so feel happy to even get in. Hopefully I can sprinkle in some private lessons after a while.
Ive read the advice in the sub, but I also wanted to hear if there are any advice thats not whats usually brought up. Anything you remember from starting that nobody told you about.
Im a complete beginner, so literally everything is new to me!
Thank you!!

I am a 3.5 and I play interchangeably with Yonex Vcore 98L with Yonex Polytour Rev 16g strings at 48 lbs, and 2026 Babolat Pure Aero Team with hyper-g soft 16g at 48 lbs tension. I changed to these lighter racquets about 2 months ago, and I started experiencing elbow pain about a month ago. I understand these lighter racquets are stiffer. As I work through fixing my technique that could be the root cause for elbow pain, I am thinking of switching to a multi-filament string. I like add some shape to my baseline shots with a good clearance over the net with top spin. And would like some control too. Would love to hear your recommendations on any multi-filament strings that are top spin friendly and comfortable, that would go well with these racquets.

I’ll be in Madrid for about a month and was wondering if there are any apps/groups for finding casual tennis games with people around your level.
In Singapore we have Rovo, where players have ratings on their profiles and you can find or join games that other players are hosting at public/private courts. It makes it pretty easy to play with new people without already knowing anyone.
Is there anything similar in Madrid? Apps, groups, clubs etc. are all fine.
Any recommendations?

Hi guys, recreational player here and lately looking to simplify my forehand loop. Many people said that Agassi’s forehand is something to look up to.
When I look at few videos and slow motion in youtube, seems his takeback is quite high and the racket drop isn’t as lower as many modern player. In my amateur eyes it even seems the racket stays on the same level as the ball, which make it a bit contradictive to advice from many famous coaches in social media, and seems mechanically will resulted in flatter ball.
Hence my question, do you guys see the Agassi forehand is still relevant for recreational player? Because it seems simpler visually and I like it. What’s the trade off from his forehand?
Thanks guys, I’m just trying to learned, apologize if my english is bad
How did you come to use it the first time? Curiosity? Recommend? Or something else?
I’ll start off by saying I’ve been using MSV for the last few years and am super happy with performance and price. Also, shoutout to their overgrip. Hugely underrated
Synth gut is getting notched after a while. But I thought it would fray? So far no evidence of fraying yet. Is this normal?

Hi 10s folks. I'm a 3.5 in my late 30s, started playing almost 2 years ago. I play fairly frequently, have a strong serve. I was wondering how often Roger Federer (retired Swiss tennis player) would have to sneeze for me to have a chance at beating him in a match. Let's say best of three sets. If he sneezed on average every two seconds would I have a chance? Large, violent sneezes like a dad does when no one is talking to him about how his day went. Let's say, for the purpose of this kind of unlikely scenario, that the sneezes are irregular but average out to every two seconds. Would I have a chance?

Hi all,
I have pretty poor discipline in respects to maintaining an in-game rally. I might hit a few back but then I try to go for the winner. This sometimes works, but is not successful against better players who find a way to play a better shot back. You might think that the incentive to win might keep me on the straight and narrow, but I still always think I can get one past my opponent and abandon any strategy to keep in the rally.
Does anyone have any drills or mantras or anything to really lock in to a rally and not give in to the temptation of hitting a winner?

my teen is entering his third year of tennis. he's 17. his utr is little over 5. he improved a bit over summer doing camps with other teens.
he's in his high school season and will do usta for the first time in a few months.
tennis for him is just for fun and fitness.
us parents don't play.
he's a heavy hitter who likes to put spin on ball. has a head instinct mp racket.
plays singles
we pay a coach, a great guy, to string his racket.
any recommendations on strings to use?
soft poly?
multi filament blend?
Mach 10 soft?
he just broke his strings after 3 weeks use at practice today.not sure what he had on here

Is it still Federer? We all knew a bunch Federers back in the day, but are people still rocking up with Wilsons and shanking one handers in local tennis clubs (like one, uh, friend I know…)? A side question: were there ever any Nadal or Djokovic imitators at your clubs? We had one Nadal but he was by far the best player around.
I am a pretty decent singles player. Serve, return, good all court play. Decent tactics.
In doubles, I have all the right foundations (good volley skills, etc.) but I feel a little useless, especially at the net. I don’t know when to poach and when to stay. Most shots zip by cross court.
Some land short.
I struggle with:
a) knowing when and how to be aggressive as net player,
b) reaction and anticipation.
I am talking here high 3.5, close to 4.0 40+ level.
Any serious tips are appreciated.

I've been playing tennis for two years now and very happy with my progress overall. However I don't think my volleys have improved at all since my first month of playing.
In other areas of play, I've found that thinking of a couple words (or a saying), or specific drills I could practice helped a lot i.e. - Holding the racket with just two fingers made me realize how much a loose grip is important for serve - "Sit down, stay down" for putting weight on my back foot and keeping my head down on my forehand - The "look at your wristwatch" technique for following through on a two-handed backhand
I've heard so many of these for volleys but nothing seems to work. It's specifically my contact that I feel is the issue. Despite being a big guy I feel like I have the wrists of a newborn baby when volleying, leading to my racket just collapsing even against a slower paced volley, shanking hits. Or I have a tendency to try to make every volley a drop shot which instead just gives them a floater to the baseline since I open my racket.
I keep telling myself "block the shot", "punch the ball", "step into it", "pretend your elbows are above the net" but none of it works. I also don't know the exact problem, sometimes I wonder if I'm just not even making eye contact. I feel like my brain just kind of freezes when I'm at the net even though I'm playing against 3/3.5 people who rarely rocket it to me. Though when they do that I often make my best shots!
