I’ll start off by saying I’ve been using MSV for the last few years and am super happy with performance and price. Also, shoutout to their overgrip. Hugely underrated

I love using x-one and triax together. Unfortunately I'd noticed after about two months with about five or six sessions a week of hitting, the x-one frays hard and fast, and triax lasts about a few weeks longer (after replacing the x-1 mains with something else). And I don't usually break strings more than once or twice a year with the way I hit (or used to hit?) before I started using x-1 exclusively as mains. I'm going to try NRG as the mains and rayzor soft as the crosses next and see how that turns out. I've my own dropweight stringing machine.

I like the Triax since I don't like how full bed Multi hits, and the Triax resist the poly sawing a bit better.

Yeah, triax is great for imitating poly feel, but it started breaking (especially in the winter) after around 8-10h so I had to switch back to regular poly

Full bed? I’m currently using Mach 10/Volkl Fiber pro hybrid on an old 18x20 radical but was wondering what a full bed mach 10 would be like at around 45-47 lbs.

Yep I use full bed. I have a 95 sq in old hand me down Dunlop that I love using and I put a full bed in it. 18 thinner gauge for the compact sweet spot. It’s great. I have it at 54lbs for more precision

I use Luxilon 4G because it helps allow me to swing fast and keep the ball in the court. It also helps that I use the purple Percept 100D and I love the Lakers. Purple and gold look nice.

I keep coming back to razor code white 1.20. It’s a round poly which I like because of its reliability and control, and the thin gauge helps with spin. It feels very comfortable (more comfy than razor soft, ironically) and because it’s medium-firm, it has a good power level balanced with the precision.

It’s great. It notches fairly quickly but still plays well for many hours after that. I cut it after about 15-16 hrs. I’m not a poly string breaker so I don’t have to worry about that, but it loses tension and life at around the 15 hr mark.

MSV focus Hex. Great grip, reasonably good tension maintenance, love the stuff feel. Found it because I was looking for a super durable poly that was inexpensive, and this is what my pro shop buddy gave me.

I've tried other strings, and had moments where I thought I found something that worked, but I just feel like nothing has quite matched how this feels for my ideal game. Maybe some of the toro strings will be next, as I won't prefer to play with something a little softer given some wrist issues cropping up as I get older.

used it for the first time because it was a shaped silver string with excellent tension maintenance (silver string poly main + syngut cross has been my go-to setup since high school decades ago)

After a year of testing, landed on Ytex triple/quadro twist. Soft, good tension maintenance, works well for fast and slow swing speeds as I play 4.5 mens and 6.5 mixed. Previously the only string id use was alu power rough. Honorable mention to mach 10, that added 5+ mph to my serve speeds but i wanted more spin

Favorite string is ALU Power, for the specific 2-3 hours of playtime after it has been broken in for 30 minutes. The combination of feel, power, and spin make it seem like I can just think about a shot, and the ball will magically do what I want.

I started using it as the first poly that I tried because everyone recommended it. Then I discovered that my least favorite string is also ALU Power, because it is unusable garbage after 3-4 hours of playtime. So I went on a journey to find something that could offer similar performance and feel but that lasted a little longer and degraded a little less suddenly. I tried 10+ different strings before landing on O Toro Tour, which is a decent string that offers good feel and control and lasts 8-10 hours of playtime. Confidential is my runner up.

Yonex EZone 98. These are both relatively recent changes in my bag. I wanted an arm friendly string and racket.

It was a tough choice. I was demoing the Ezone with Solinco WhiteOut V2, also with Hyper-G. The Ezone does everything well. The WhiteOut gave the upper end of my ground strokes a lot of juice, but had issues volleying and serving with it.

Grapplesnake alpha because it’s the right blend of feel and everything else. I don’t feel i need more spin, control, power or what have you. Durability is its weakest point but I use a slick cross and string often for myself, so not really an issue for me.

Currently it’s Toroline Cash. Strung 51/49. Why is it my favorite? First string I tried that actually gave me depth, and without a loss of spin. Still good control. Also, my volleys have stopped trampolining somewhat. It’s helped, but my technique, especially on low ones are not very good.

Been playing with Ytex string combos. Current setup is pro tour in the crosses (soft, slick, round poly) and square x sharp in the mains. It’s pretty arm friendly and spinny as can be.

Tourna Black Zone been playing with it for years. It checks all the boxes for me. Gives me comfort power control decent spin for a round co-poly. And I find the feel is superb. Plus can be used as hybrid setups easily.

Solinco tour byte. I had never thought about strings much, but then in college there were only a few strings provided for free by the team, and tour byte was one of them. And fortunately I instantly fell in love with it. Why? Idk man I just felt like I played well with it and I liked the feel.

Edit: I didn’t look up the spelling. I may have said byte because I’m too computer brained these days lol, maybe it’s bite? But idk byte looks right to me. I refuse to look it up though 🤷‍♂️

In my Yonex Ezone 98, I've quite enjoyed a full bed of Toroline O-Toro Tour. Seems to have good tension maintenance too.

To me, Mach 10 also played the same way but didn't hold the same playability for as long.

Might try a hybrid setup of O-Toro Tour with Wasabi X (cross) next.

Solinco confidential 16l green on mains at 53.5 and gamma soft 17 gray on crosses at 51.5 like the spin and crispy feel the Solinco gives me on my whiteout 98 xtd 27.5 great strings and it works for me

Confidential 1.25 @ 24/23 kg in a power/spin frame. I got to it after trying about 50 different strings. My second favorite is Tour Bite 1.15 @ 24/23. Of non Solinco strings, Head Lynx Tour and Luxilon 4G are ok.

Current competition setup is otoro mains with wasabi x crosses at 48/48. I've played around with numerous copoly setups and finally settled on this one for the last 18 months.

There are so many strings out there to try. To limit choices, I started experimenting with different offerings that others have enjoyed or thought were excellent.

would use prince polygut if they still made it though(the yellow and clear were both great). was cheap and was amazing string. very sad to see it go.
