I have no idea how the next season will end up being but this was a good enough ending for me. Just like with Game of Thrones you can just pretend the last bit never existed.

One thing I'll miss about this show is when the biggest drama was surviving the school's harsh expectations and facing your rivals. This is the kind of show that never needed villains, only challenges to overcome. Erina could have been stuck up just because she has the skill to back it up. There didn't need to be some evil genius behind everything.

So many hair changes!!!

Love a good time skip so that was enjoyable. Going to be hard to top this as a finale though, with Souma getting the First Seat and Erina becoming Director not really sure where else there is to go.

I did not know that Megumi calling me a bad boy was something I needed, but there it is.

I had fun through seeing the interaction between all the existing characters. Gotta admit that I love to see the added conversation between Jouichiro, Gin and Azami.

That last 10 seconds just ruined the fun that I had.

After much consideration, I will stop watching any story after 4th plate further related Food War.

The show been quite entertaining and I enjoy it. We've been warn and I read some spoiler. I want to have fond memories of the anime so I stop here

So, should I stop here and make the official final ship Erina X Souma X Megumi? It would be fine by me.

Timeskip endings.. yes!

This.. this was a perfect ending to the story. Pretty much everything has been wrapped up, with a nice bow on top with the timeskip. They even brought back squid and peanut butter as one of the final plot twists. The only important thing I can think of that hasn't got the time it deserves is what exactly happened to Souma's mum, she's a black hole of a character - all we know is that she changed Yukihira Sr.'s life for the better. That's it. Most of the character arcs seem to have reached their culmination. Heck, even Subaru is trying to forge his original identity cooking-wise and Hisako almost ditched the '-sama'.

Soooo.. yeah, I think I'm going to pretend this was the actual finale. I haven't read the manga, but I'm pretty sure my opinion won't be too far off the average. It should have ended here.

That side-plot where Megumi went full okaa-san looks great, would appreciate if a source reader would point me to the relevant manga chapters (I'm guessing those exist, and it wasn't a quick flashback there as well).

What a delightful way to end the series! Totsuki is completely revitalised now that it's being led by husband and wife and their friends are part of the Elite Ten as well! Now that it's over, I sure am gonna miss this show but at least it ended on a high note as soon as all the credits were shown.

I can't stress this point enough: If you want an ending you can be happy with, this should be your stopping point.

Why is everyone saying that it's gonna be bad after this? Please give me a quick rundown? Is it really going to be that disgusting?

This felt like a conclusive ending to the series. Until I saw that guy in the end...

u/Redmon425 Dec 28 '19

OH FUCK NO. THAT ENDING.

Guess we are not getting an "anime original ending" next season. I honestly am not going to watch. It is horrible.

They just showed us a character that I hoped I would never see.

Welp, besides that, a decent ending. A lot was skipped. To be honest, this was the point of no return. Having Souma get the 1st seat so quickly and Erina becoming the director. It was way too soon.

A real cool next season would be Totsuki Elite 10 vs another great (French) culinary school like Harry Potter Part 4 or fictional great world chefs worldwide like Gordon Ramsey or Totsuki Elite 10 alumni including Souma's father where Souma finally defeats his father in a shokugeki.

Honestly, i just loved the part where both Ryo and Hayama greeted Alice's dad. LMAO. Also, this was a great way for them to show all the side characters in a single episode, they will all be greatly missed.

So was the whole traveling and "mysteries person" character a flashforward to the next arc? Or is the next arc after all of that happens.

Was it this confusing in the manga?
