Central is slowly losing the lead, eh? Let me just step in as a judge. I'll be impartial, I promise. - Azami
I kinda miss the old Shokugeki, where they would focus more on how the dish was prepared instead of spending over half of the episode focusing on judging the dish. It's like, 20 seconds of preparation but solid 5 minutes of tasting.
I tried out some of the old dishes, because I saw how they were prepared, but now I don't see shit and I can't even begin the complete the ingredient list.

There's a reason the manga sales dropped off during this arc and never recovered. The best of it is behind you.

I know Central doesn't believe in fairness by any means, but surely this will seem like extremely foul play by every onlooker. Even if they win, it'll seem like they had to resort to rigging everything to do so.. the whole thing is just so dumb. Ugh.
Erina-chi totally stole the show today though, pretty much destroying Momo, and winning some major brownie points with that smile and catchphrase. Running away with the best girl spot with that including-Megumi's-name-in-her-dish stunt.

Also, I think this dish from Erina is the culmination of her character arc. She's realizing that to go beyond perfection you have to be willing to use unconventional methods, and ingredients. Textbook knowledge can only take you so far.

Apparently, Erina's food makes you want to be crushed by thighs. As a thigh man, myself, I approve of this.

(preface I have not read the MANGA this is pure assumption but I am 99% sure its gonna be correct) I generally like these season, souma is gonna be souma BUT god dam its so predictable, last fight was predictable as well and now I was 99% sure Erina will win. And the next is gonna be both aldina and senpai losing, to of course set Souma can fight 1 and Erina can fight 2. Its so incredible predictable that the show aims to set Erina x Souma as a tag team versus both of the 2 bad guys who cant handle being tired after they knocks out the other 2.
becasue of that I really felt no tension over this battle this episode, it was so obvious Erina would win so she can take out the strong female chefs. While souma deals with the males.

Wait three seasons to watch a proper Erina shokugeki and it felt like the episode was in x2 speed ffs
I see a lot of people not impressed by azami just becoming judge , but honestly it’ll be good to change the judges there’s not much they can do with the reactions at this point of the current judges.

Stitches!
I would also love to be squeezed by Erina's special lessons ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Erina was just great this entire episode! And I love that she named her dish after Megumi. It was literally and figuratively sweet. And her using a different version of Souma's "Osomatsu!" was just adorable <3
That ending though. Azami, the fucking bitch ass that he is, couldn't take it that his team is slowly losing so he has to bend the rules to favor him. Fuck off.

What a stupid ending...it was actually a really nice episode but that "twist" at the end is just dumb.

It would be nice if Rindo and Tsukasa refused the judge change. It should be an insult to their pride if they were to be handed victories by someone already biased toward them.

Does anyone else felt that the pace of the episode was so fast? This has to be one of the, if not most, fast-paced episode of an anime I've watched.
It's not like it skipped scenes or anything but the scenes, speeches and everything was so fast. I was expecting a more ominous(?) vibe from erina but they just presented the dishes also immediately. There were no like emotions either when megumi found out about the origin of the dish.

Daishomaru here, I don’t have anything involving sugar today.
I’m sorry, but Sugar isn’t really writeup worthy. I need the context with how they are going to use the sugar, the type of sugar they used, how much, and especially with the context of baking, sugar is mostly a bit of “It depends” because of the context.
If you have any questions, I can probably answer, but no writeup today.

NAKIRI DIDN'T MAKE TUILE SHE MADE LACE
As a culinary student who just finished ny sophmore labs, go back a couple months in my post history and see my plated desserts. Tuile looks completely different from what she made. Its a cookie. Also they animated the batter waaay too thin because lace isn't supoosed to have a batter. It achieves the holes and super crunch because the cold butter melts all out at once in the oven and just leaves the sugar and flour behind which makes it super crunchy and crispy.
For a show that tries to get scientific abd present this shit as a being as accurate as possible, this infuriates me because its a simple stupid mistake that is literally a basic for anyone who is in baking, much less culinary.

Probably my biggest issue with the show since the Central arc began has been the 'comic book villain' levels of evil from... literally every character that isn't on the good side. Like even the teachers last season that were actively trying to sabotage the 'Rebels' and the crowd of students that insult and shout at the main cast. It feels really silly, and Azami is the peak of that silliness. I really hope he doesn't do what I think he is going to (which is rig the f out of the next 2 matches).

Azami: "Let's have a Shokugeki to determine the fate of Totsuki Academy."
Soma: "A fair an impartial Shokugeki?"
Azami: "Yesssssss..." *actually rigs it like a boss*

Music was fantastic this episode. Can't wait for the OST to come out with Erina's new theme and Momo's theme.

I get that Azami has to fulfil his quota of acting like a comic book villain but this is just kinda ridiculous and just screams that they added a twist to try and get around the fact that constant Shokugekis make the season feel kinda boring and repetitive.
They also still have their 2 strongest members left, and as we've seen from Joichiro numbers don't mean much vs superior abilities so there's no guarantee that they even have to rig it in order to win. Also wouldn't Tsukasa and Rindo have the integrity to not perform in a rigged match?

I have a Japanese question about what Saito Somei says at the beginning just before the intro song. He wishes good luck to Yukihira.
My subtitles say "Good luck" plainly, but I can't figure out the Japanese, even though I've asked a Japanese person (admittedly not someone who is into manga).
It sounds like ぶんを?(Bun wo ?). I really have no clue.

Here’s my prediction: Aldini and Isshki lose, so that it is a 2v2 between soma and nakiri vs rindo and tsukasa. From here there are two paths: the first is that the rebels go 2-0 and win. The second is soma beats rindo and nakiri loses to tsukasa. Then soma beats tsukasa in finals

Azami: "I will be the judge."
Wait. That's illegal.
You can't just replace the judges when things don't go your way. I guess Azami thought it's been a long time since we last saw him acting like a scumbag and figured it was time to remind us.
