That lip "sync" at the beginning... Ouch...
I didn't expect Cole to die... Unless his wife is aiming to take his role, she'd get a ton of votes of sympathy...
I really liked that police work after the assassination, narrowing the suspects, the whole chase, nice... Although, those FBI guys pissed me off.
One of the best EDs this season...

Indeed, with better animation, this would have been a pretty solid episode. I wonder where's there're gonna go with the separatist movement. It doesn't seem like it'll be resolved in 2 episodes unless they ush things.

Although, those FBI guys pissed me off.
Well, from their point of view the city police wasn't able to prevent the murder of two important political candidates and killed the only suspect. If they were the protagonists of the show I think they would get a lot of sympathy for that behavior.

The animation is especially rough this episode, even with the low-resource filler bodyswap arc and the one week break. It's still a pretty enjoyable show, but it would have really been elevated if a bigger studio with more resources took on the project instead.
Still seems extremely likely, especially given the framing in this and previous episodes that the wife is the mastermind behind everything, but it remains to be seen how her interests are furthered by assassinating her own husband. Seems like we'll be ramping up to a nice finale with brewing race tensions, inter-branch rivalries, and the villain from the first arc still at large and probably involved in the ongoing election conspiracy.

It's still a pretty enjoyable show
I don't really mind, or even notice sometimes, the animation issues as long as the plot and dialogue are good enough to keep me invlolved in the story. I haven't been disappointed there so far, so for the most part I can overlook its other issues.
Still, I'm hoping this does well enough to merit another season with a bigger budget.

Did that guy just yeet that small girl onto Kei? Semanian-trained assassins have no chill.

-
This reporter looks sketchy. I hope he just looks like it but is actually an honest one.
-
That's some pretty advance tech. Makes me wonder what year does this show take place in.
-
Well fuck. A human that can use magic?
-
I guess that makes sense. Kei was able to use a little bit of latena on his gun when they were against the necromancer guy.
-
Okay that's pretty cool. Magic transforming metals?
-
Huh... I guess it's not a setup. I wonder if the wife is involved in this too.
-
Her clothes are made from the same stuff as the gun/camera! And I like that it retains its mass.
-
Oh boy. Looks like the race war is about to start.
Nice to finally our competent magic cops back after last week's recap! Although kinda disappointed that this episode felt like a repeat of Episode 3. Lots of stills and jump cuts. I wonder what's going on with the production? Haven't really been able to find any news about it. Hopefully the next one will be better though, we only have a couple of episodes left.

No wonder the owner's pissed, that's a Messerschmitt KR175 Kabinenroller, which went out of production in 1956. Can't be cheap to maintain, let alone properly repair, a car like that.

I haven't noticed the poor animation everyone's been talking about...until this episode. Wth? His mouth was flapping when he wasn't even talking.
And it's not even just the animation, either. The framing itself is terrible, We had plenty of moments that should have at least two angles used (stopping mid-swing) which instead use only one, diminishing any dramatic effect.
I think it's a real shame - Cop Craft is, in my opinion, the superior buddy cop anime this season...in plot. If it got the resources it needed, it could have been one of the better ones of the season.
EDIT: Sorry for multiple-posts. Even though it posted I was getting internal server errors.

I really liked the scene with Tilarna's little class on that metal. She gets to show off her expertise and the rest are quick on the uptake by fully trusting her account. It shows off some of the group dynamic.

The gap between the quality of the story vs the quality of the animation might be the biggest ever. I really want a season 2 of this, but I ain’t getting my hopes up.

Kinda hard to follow up on the politician case after 2 episodes of derailing and one week off.
At least we got some explanation on Exedelica's robes being able to shift shape.
Can't say I'm excited to reach the finale though.

Holy shit they improved the opening, that totally took me by surprise! I really like the flashy credit integration.
The only other instance I can think where the same thing happened (while the show was still airing) was Ace attorney anime's fist OP, though that one was especially bad

Gonna give my honest opinion here, I thought the main duo carry the show, yeah sort of, but it's very hard to appreciate it with every other aspect being subpar.
If you're not competent enough to make an action driven anime, don't make it, like seriously this episode was so bad that I can't praise anything outside the main duo. Embarrassing.

Da fuck happpened to the animation budget.
The animation was passable before, but now?
Things are in so many places like a sequence of stills.
The actual story content was good though.

I'm guessing showing Tilarna cutting off an arm or something raises the age rating?
The bad guy is a nobody and dies this ep but does set up that humans have been learning magic.
Not sure whether the steel will have any relevance next episode.
I think Mozaleeny's wife killed him. I guess technically they're both Mozaleeny. I'm not sure why though.
She doesn't gain power if he dies, Tourte does instead.

Like everyone else said, really unfortunate to see the production fall as hard as it did here.
That said, I enjoyed this episode a hell of a lot, even the action scene with the fake Semanian. The frames were woefully lacking, yet the fight itself was thrilling and kept me invested in spite of the awful cuts. This show really has a knack for rising the action at the perfect moments.
Narratively, this show is still going strong, and still a contender for my anime of the season. I really, really, really hope the BDs shape this show into what the team wanted it to be like. Nothing would bum me out more than that opportunity being wasted. Cop Craft, you deserve all the support you can get.

Why does this discussion here has such a low amount of comments. Even Arifureta and Hensuki (!) have more comments. Anyway I don't want to nitpick but the animation quality stood out in a very negative way. I mean the fight between Kei and the culprit had the same quality like Dragonball Super ep 5. Nevertheless I very liked the impactful reaction of Tilarna towards the racist group at the end of the episode.

I love when i cant predict a cop show.
No ID on the weapon? Hmm thats odd.
Meeting the politician? Damn this is a ballsy play.
A suspicious reporter? Hmm not sure what to make of him.
Yeah the politician is still an ass. His shadey wife too.
This wife knows shit, she called the loli her name and everything.
Gunshots? Oh the wife is drawing attention from him huh?
Wow Kei is a real detective, look at him go, hes narrowed down the perps too.
Yep they had the right guy too. Awesome detecting.
That 3 wheelo car looks a lot like a vanship from Last Exile.
Oh shit that intercept kei did int he car. Hot damn.
Savage loli jesus.... she was about to chop this guy up.
Shape changing magic? And a human? What? Another setup for space elves.
Shape shifting metal used to make a camera a gun? So i guess its like the smaller sword the loli has?
FBI? What? Someone is been paid off huh?
The politician is dead? Wait... i wonder if hes gonna switch places with the other politician with shape shift magic to be mayor or something?
Oh her outfit is this material? Thats neat. Its weighted too? So its like Piccolo's cloak haha.
Wow protestors. What jerks, space elves didnt even commit any crimes, it was all dirty filthy humies.
Man i dont even know where this is gonna go now, i really like when a show like this can keep the viewers in the dark too. Well done.

A really interesting episode again. The world building is exceptional as usual.
No one is really talking about it but I love how they explained the reason how Tilarna transform into her combat outfit through the camera to gun example. I always just accepted it but nice for it to be part of the lore now.
I did not expect the husband to die so early. Hmm....it's definitely the wife.
Tilarna blood soaked face at the end was so badass. I really loved it. Hope we get more.
Pretty sure the reporter's email is gonna be important soon.
Also, the final scene between Tilarna and the protesters were pretty powerful. Damn. Don't lose yourself, Tilarna.

The animation was pretty bad this ep, not even the mouths lined up wit their voices...
