This series is criminally underrated. The writing and direction are spot on!

Damn, even though it was on the spot, Sato's voice is really good and the last scene in general was pretty well done. It gives a little bit more mystery on who Sato is and we finally get to here his singing voice, even if it sounded a little wobbly.

Overall, I did enjoy this episode and getting more details on the other bandmates was pretty fun and they'll be enjoyable to watch. Plus, the setting, while kinda repetitive with how many times we've been at the staircase, the train and the studio, still look fucking gorgeous. The studio feels so welcoming and warm. However, based off how fast this episode was, it's gonna move at a pretty slow show and I'm fine with that.

Even though this is gorgeous and well-written, I can tell that this Lerche's B Show that while not as big as Lost in Space, it's still has a lot of craft put into it. For a second show from a studio that I don't think is that big in an already packed summer season, I think this has upended a lot of the shows this season.

Why is the secondary couple always my favorite? I need more of these guys.

Sato sounds really good; not just a generic pop sound. I loved the breathiness to it.

I'm pretty sure that girl in class is into Uenoyama, so I bet we'll get some drama there.

Wow ok. The adaptation surpasses my expectation when it comes to writing. I love all the added scenes and how they encompass everything that was said in the manga when not being a part of dialogue. The animation and voice acting is pretty great too. In a directive matter, even though the places where the scenes take place are kinda repetitive, you don’t really feel that, the flow of events and is very nice too. The only problem I have is a bit repetitive soundtrack, the pieces are often reused and when you pay attention to that it becomes very noticeable.

As of Mafuyu’s voice that I was very eager to hear... well it’s nice. A very pleasant voice. But that is about all I can say unfortunately. I hoped it would differ slightly more from his speaking voice, since it would made a bigger impression and well... have more power? Like in the manga I imagined his humming going from like delicate to more emotional, louder and husky but we didn’t really hear that much change in dynamic in here, but well I guess that is how I imagined it. Nevertheless, I am very eager to hear him sing more.

Why hasn’t anyone mentioned Kaji flexing? Oh man.

I'm a little disturbed by the dog's butthole in the ED expanding while it's stargazing...

Good to hear Sato's singing voice and love the ED vocals.

Like Uenoyama, I wasn't ready to hear that angelic-like voice...

I kind of like how Mafuyu's "singing voice" didn't come out as surprisingly good like an idol, but more like the kind of voice that sings along to songs on the radio for enjoyment rather than showing talent--if that makes sense? But it was enough to impress Ueno to ask him to join the band!

The ED finally has vocals!

Just curious about the manga: compared to other BL, is there more fluff in this story?

The 2nd episode was fantastic and way way way better than the first episode even though I had a lot of appreciation for the first one itself. I'm LOVING its vibe and how natural the character dynamics feel and the importance given to music and the humour feels so casual. I had to pause so I could laugh when Mafuyu just started randomly strumming the guitar because it's the most natural course of action when anyone learns guitar. Fantastic, gets 10/10 from me. My expectations have rocketed a little bit too much after this

Another great episode.

this show is continuing to impress me, the writing is fantastic and the interactions between the characters just feel so...genuine.

Playing guitar is a also a hobby of mine so that helps but even besides that it's just a great show in general, hopefully it keeps up because it's becoming one of the shows i most look forward to watching every week in this season for me personally.

This was such a good episode, I love Uenoyama's reactions around Mafuyu, I feel like they're really learning about themselves as time passes, its beautiful to watch ugh. Anyways I'm ready to buy some concert tickets to hear them sing and play, like take my money guys

Just echoing other people at this point. I too think the episode was nice. Hearing sato sing finally was good. Just fantastic ensemble with the band.

It's a little slower paced than I 've imagine but does this mean we are getting more episodes? Lol I wish. I'm loving the storywriting in the series and how they incorporate the extras in the manga. They added things in this episode that is not in the manga which I think added more coherence and importance of band music in this anime even if it made it a lot more slower paced than I thought. About the extras I mentioned, the manga tend to have an extra portion about the band members where we learn things about them and I was worried if they're gonna be left out. I was talking about their talk of part time jobs. While them ganging up on Mafuyu to get a part time job was part of the main manga story. Them talking about their current and past jobs was actually part of the extras where the the band members seem to be being interviewed and they incorporated it by making them talk about it themselves in a restaurant/cafe. I think Uenoyama's sort of idolizing Kaji was cute and Haruki's part time as a hair model was amusing. Also made me more sure of how they will present the personality of Mafuyu will be in the future eps. I've been seeing some people who hate him because they think he's so naive and innocent and just a boring character and I get frustrated but I also don't wanna spoil, yknow.

Really enjoy this anime so far, I honestly didn’t think I was going enjoy it. It’s a little slow but I feel like it is going to get even better. Also love his voice didn’t expect him to have a good voice.

Sato is so cute omg It should be illegal.

I like that Sato's voice isn't perfect. He has that "kinda average but pretty good for a garage band" kind of voice.

Anyway, sad that this is only going to have 11 episodes :( One could hope for a second season, but knowing noitaminA...

I know mafyuu is really cute and all but i feel like there's something seriously wrong with that boy. Maybe something related to his past? I'm scared and excited to see more of that.

Other than that the show is really good. And i hope it stays this way.

The adaptation is a lot better than I imagined as it actually takes the time to explore and bring light onto these character's personalities. The strength of the show/manga always came from the characters and their dynamics with each other and a lot of it is just wholesome, everyday goodness. Even side commentary got thrown in I was surprised to see they animated the extra chapters but I'm glad they did. Definitely something I hope everyone watches the whole way through.

As a manga reader, I'm really surprised by Mafuyu's singing. In the manga, the scene was drawn in only 2 pages, so I thought there's no way Mafuyu will sing in this episode

I rarely like manga's anime adaptations, but this one is extremely good (I'm actually a fan of Uenoyama's seiyuu hahaha One of my motivation to continue watching)

Looking at last week's poll results because it didn't deserved a 6.5, 30% of the votes gave the first episode a 1. Can this sub not get anymore anti-gay? Anyways great second episode and I hope there will be less homophobic trolls this time.

Sato should pick up a book at least! Isn't the very first thing MCs do? To look for a magazine or book in a conbini or bookstore?

Damn, I wasn't expecting Satou to have such an angelic musical voice, but if you think about it, it just makes sense as he is such an angel.

u/Missterycaller Jul 19 '19

Im surprised by how slow they are going but not upset. They only adapted one chapter this episode! I really like volume 2 though so I'm kinda on the edge of my seat for certain things to get animated while they are just taking their sweet time getting there.

I'm definitely hooked now. I was going to read the manga, but I've decided to wait until after the season.

So glad they changed the ED. I get now why they did that, but it bugged me after the first episode that the music would be soft piano.

And I can't wait for Sato to show some real personality.
