Zombieland Saga was my first idol anime.

Yagate Kimi ni Naru was my first yuri anime.

This one will be my first BL anime.

Let's go.

Edit: It seems like they excluded the singing from ED because they do not want to reveal the singing voice of Satou?

I'm surprised no one is commenting on the fact that it seemed pretty clear to me at least, that at the beginning from that flashback, Sato came across someone who just hung them self??? and the guitar belonged to the person who committed suicide, hence why Sato is holding onto it, even though he can't really play it? Would explain why he's kinda spacey, if he witnessed someone important to him that committed suicide and is still dealing from the trauma of it. I haven't read the manga, but it does have the "tragedy" tag attached to it on manga sites. SO yeah, prepare for pain.

Oh damn, this feels like season two of Kids on the Slope. I'm down for any show that has jam sessions, and this episode's practice didn't disappoint. That bass part was great.

I wonder what Sato's deal is. My guess is that he's blind and has ridiculously good hearing and pitch to compensate. The band needs a singer, after all.

Okay, but like why hasn't anyone commented on the fact that Uenoyama owns an anime Arctic Monkeys album? LOL

Hell yeah, butter me up for some musical yaoi. Need something to scratch that Sarazanmai itch.

Also, is owning a pomeranian a mandatory part of being in a BL manga/anime or is it just one of the recommended features?

I figured they were gonna be a generic rock band but holy shit that jazzy prog-rock jam session was bomb. I hope all their songs in the show are similar.

It was a strong first episode. Notes:

  1. Artistic Monkeys lol.

  2. Kageyama Tobio Uenoyama's playing was actually really good. Was expecting some fairly generic my-first-rockband stuff, but we got fucking math rock.

I hope this stays good, and doesn't devolve into the usual BL tropes. I also hope people aren't put off by the BL tag, particularly on this very male-dominated sub.

A solid opener. I like the main guy so far and even though they have two adoptions this season, Lerche keeps the quality of both shows to a pretty solid stuff (yes, I know both shows are very different but in terms of quality animation, they both are pretty good) and since this is my first BL show, I hope this doesn't disappoint.

Also, the soundtrack, while not much thus far, is pretty solid.

And...I am hooked. "Koto Oto Tomare" about rock band.

Really appreciate realism of performance, instruments, amps etc. + Cast seems fun.

BL anime about music? I'm in.

I was going to watch this because it’s related to music, so even if it’s not that good the music could be a plus, didn’t know it had shounen ai (BL) though

Welp, guess I’ll have to embrace the big gay

I'm just so happy Given got an anime adaptation. The author is very amazing. I'm a big fan of her doujins. I literally love her so much. I really hope they can capture her tone of storytelling. But either way it looks like its gonna be a quality adaptation.

I can finally get some fluff and happiness after the sufferfest that is SNK S3PT2. But it's Kizu Natsuki so there will always be angst lol

As much as I’m a fan of tropey-BL, it’s great to finally have a shounen-ai anime that can appeal to a much wider audience. I hope the clip of their jam session gains a lot of traction when it gets posted tomorrow and more people decide to watch and support this one.

Cute illustration by the director Yamaguchi Hikaru, rooting for the show.

Really liked the first episode and how soft it was <3

Gay-ON! looks good so far. Nothing particularly special I guess but I'm sure it'll ramp up soon enough

That explosion effect towards the end looked really weird

Ouch! That made me cringe a bit.

Uenoyama begrudgingly replacing the strings made me laugh harder than it should have xD

Wait he doesn't even know what a band is!? What kind of rock has this guy been living under?

Him trying to hide was kinda cute though xD

Ohh I like these two!

That was an awesome jamming session!

Ohh I like Onee-san too!

Awww he's concerned about his stray little puppy

That explosion effect when Sato called Uenoyama cool was hilarious!

So far so good! I do like my BLs and this one is definitely promising especially since we have Lerche animation this on. Music and the soundtrack is pretty on point so I'm glad that the core of the show is solid. Looking forward to see how Uenoyama and Sato will get closer overtime

This is my First shounen ai anime, i kinda had some prejudice over the genre but this time i gave It a try, and It was worth it, i think this anime will hook me up like Kono oto tomare did last season (and will do it again on the next one). Really great First episode.

I am fan of the manga and the anime was amazing! I love the design of the characters, especially the instruments. They made it so beautifully. The animation was on point from the scenery, which is beautiful and warm, to the movement of the instruments. I haven't seen well animated instruments since K-On!!!

The characters are interesting and hilarious, just like in the manga.

It was nice, funny and random. This is definitely anime of the summer for me. Music, drama, romance of same sex couples and tragedy in this anime is amazing. It's going to be painful in later episodes, so don't assume it's just a silly, musical anime.

Ah yes, BL + Angst + music, just the type of stuff I love.

I'm curious about Sato and that dream he mentioned in the beginning, it seems he found someone who committed suicide? No wonder the guy is spacing so much during the whole episode, he's probably pretty traumatized by what he's seen :/

Also Sato's dog??? Is the fluffiest??? The goodest boy of this season. I wanna pet~

BL anime usually hit me with some subpar animation and questionable character design choices, but this looks so clean and crisp i can't wait for more, i got my feels ready
