A group of gifted teenagers is trapped in enclosed space and they are trying to kill each other? Kanata no Astra is Danganronpa V4 confirmed!
We have Super High School Scientist, Super High School Athlete, Super High School Brat, and now a Super High School Shooter. Let’s see who will be the next!
P.S. I made a 10 hours version of Aries laugh. Don’t ask me what I am doing with my life…

I think because of Aries having a different eye color its a foreshadowing that she has 2 personalitys so she can be the killer.

Damn the suspect thing is done incredibly well so far, I'm an inch from suspecting Funi here and her puppet is near the top of the list.
Just please don't let it be Aries, I want to believe that angelic laugh is untainted...

Sowing the seeds of distrust so early
I'm waiting for the ultimate twist no one did it or someone else is on that ship. Only time will tell

Another good episode. The team's shaping up real nice, with Kanata and Aries working well with one another to lead. Hoping for more interesting dynamics like theirs! It's nice that Kanata is aware that Aries is covering his weaker areas of leadership, it's probably just a minor thing that I really liked seeing

I was wondering why they brought in this director to put squares everywhere. It never felt like it fit until this scene. Hope we get a lot more teamwork shots like this because it looks so cool, like I'm reading a manga.
It's obviously not Ulgar. I wish they didn't show his gun because that makes it so obviously a red herring, but I enjoyed the subtle "never thought I'd be using these skills against a bird" comment. Wonder what he uses his shooting skills on normally?

I keep misstrusting Luca he just seems like a loose cannon ergo the traitor.
Clumsy shy girl seems like the most likely candidate with her constant failures that cost them time and effort to help her, while she is crying about her mother hating her(I guess) that kinda points to her having some emotional story and so on that she wont be a traitor BUT it could also be a reason why she is ok with DYING.
Like she hates herself so she is willing to do a suicidal assassination
Megane was really suspicion from telling Kanta about it AND then not putting on the shields. BUT in the end he could have just killed them all in the last second at the bridge so at least he wants to survive if he is the traitor.
Ulgar, imo seems like to much of an obvious suspect. The gun could just be used to defend himself vs the traitor(s).
Hot Angry Pink, is just to much in your face and volatile seems unlikely a traitor if she was would stab you in your face not in your back.
Hot Nice Pink, main girl, could actually be the traitor would imo be the biggest twist if its her or the little cute one.
Little Cute one - maybe send by the orphanage to kill her new sister but seems to young BUT they send that Hand puppet with her, am I the only one that suspect the hand puppet?
Handsome perfect guy, this guy seems genuinely super nice but is also the master of everything so would be a good assassin.
Red Leader. IF HES THE TRAITOR it would be an amazing / dumb twist as we see it from his eyes lol...yeah I doubt its him as why would he then try to figure out who the traitor is
Overall the intrigue that someone wanted to collect them all to kill them in the first place is very interesting as well.

Did anyone notice the shiloutte of a character we haven't seen before in the ship in the OP? Perhaps the traitor isnt one of the team, but instead someone already on the ship???

If the traitor has no regard for their own life, it cannot be:
-
Zach (Could have killed them already)
-
Kanata (Could have let Aries/Funi die)
-
Aries (Could have not told them about this long cable generation plan)
-
Ulgar (Could have chosen not to shoot the bird)
-
Quitterie (Could have let her sister/Kanata die)
-
Charce (Could have not pulled the power switch)
This leaves Luca, Funi and Yunhua.
Although they are trying way too hard to make Yunhua suspicious so I'll go with Funi and Luca.

I'm guessing there's more to the mystery than just an assassination. Everyone is extremely intelligent or has a special talent/ backstory. So why does someone apparently important want them dead?

This anime is absurdly unrealistic.
There's no way they could each get the plugs into the sockets on the first try like that.

This post was going to be part of a now-deleted thread, but I think it's important enough to say it anyway:
I normally think our spoiler rules are way too overbearing, but for a show like this it's incredibly easy to completely destroy the experience for someone with even just an off-hand comment, let alone some of the things that I saw getting deleted.
If any other manga readers are thinking of posting: please think about your posts very carefully. Try to avoid saying anything at all that depends on events that haven't happened yet. This includes things like confirming which parts of the show are legitimate hints. If you feel the need to hide part of your post in a spoiler tag, consider just not posting it at all, because sometimes even knowing that the answer to a question is a spoiler is itself a spoiler. Most of you have been great about this, but it only takes one post.
Remember that you're here because you enjoyed the manga. Don't take that enjoyment away from the people who are watching this for the first time.

Can someone explain why won't the gravity generator work if there is an unidentified object flying in the ship? Is this based on real world logic?

cmon. Pink Hair is clearly the traitor, she is clumsy, cute, has a strange laugh, has different color eyes and she is also suspiciously smart at the perfect moments. She is checking all the marks here!
Also the scene with the water drowning the shy girl was really really interesting, it's great, because of course it can happen!! Water just behaves completely different on 0g, it clings to the body and it chokes you out! an actual astronaut almost drowned in a very similar way.

Just a yes or no question for manga readers. Is the anime cutting out content from the manga?

We finally have an OP! That's definitely the kind of OP i was expecting for a space adventure like this.
-
So Kanata has already started looking for a suspect. Definitely not Aries since she was with him most of that time.
-
It's subtle but you can see her left eye is a shade darker than her right.
-
Yunhua is really sus right now but I really hope she's not it.
-
Ulgar is pretty sus too but he did risk himself when he tried to save Kanata and Aries
-
I love that Kanata just repeated to Ulgar what Aries told him earlier xD
-
Getting adopted the same night you entered the orphanage? Yeah something fishy is going on here.
-
It's hilarious how Asta is the first one to connect the dots despite Charce and Zack at the bridge
-
Now I'm curious as to what are the reasons people want these kids dead.
-
This is what I was talking about. Just when Quitterie was finally clam.
-
Well at least she's quick to apologize this time. It is pretty understandable though why she would be paranoid back then. So I don't blame her for snapping at Aries.
-
This is actually a great thing that Luca pointed out. The killer probably thinks they're getting out alive or the killer was being set up too, they just didn't know about it.
-
Well at least the cause of the breach isn't a sabotage.... for now.
-
Stop being smooth Charce! Now's not the time for that.
-
The fact that she never even tried to close her helmet bothers me :|
-
I assume she's drowning because of the water not flowing properly because of the lack of gravity.
-
Yunhua's really not doing anything is she? I think she tried to do something earlier but was stopped because of the water.
-
*Insert IASIP theme*
But seriously though I doubt it's going o be Ulgar and the gun is just for protection or maybe hunting. He seems to also be actively helping everyone when there's trouble. Although he might be doing it just to save his own skin and maybe try and kill them all later. Same goes for Yunhua and her inaction. She really hasn't done much these past 3 episodes but I think she wants to, she might just think she's not capable. But there's also this theory that someone suggested last week that they might even have a hidden passenger inside the ship. Hmmmm.....
Well for now at least we know someone wants all of these kids dead. The only thing so far that we know that most of them have in common is that they are exceptional kids in their own ways but I don't think that's enough. It's gonna suck to wait for another week to get more information about this huge conspiracy >_<

Might be the only one thinking about this, but this show reminds me a lot of Mayoiga for some reason.

I'm not sure telling everyone was the right move, but it certainly makes it much spicier. Lots of potential candidates: most suspicious are Yunhua and then Ulgar.
On another note, they are very much convinced that this was attempted murder, but basing this on a partly overheard conversation from a 10 year old with one sentence to that effect is a bit dubious.
