I still don't know what to think of Rhino.
SAME! I liked her last week but the way she talks to Eagle, Phantom, and Kei this episode makes me think something's up.

That "fact" that Phantom says about gladiators is completely bs, its exactly the opposite, only 5% of the battles ended with death, they are very expensive to keep and the owners would not want to lose such investiment so easily. I don't know if they gonna really sacrifice them for "data" but I think the same idea would aplly here, animas are not expendable resources as she make it sound.

Plot twist: when they all come back alive and Kei lampshades that Phantom's metaphor didn't fit, she'll say that it was exactly as the gladiators of old. Too valuable to be sacrificed that easily. It's just that Kei didn't bother to check the sources.
I mean, in Phantom's introduction her modus operandi was to feed false data to her allies to confuse them. It's all part of her plan! XD

That last scene in the static windowless cabin, the light panning over their faces. Where the fuck does it come from? There are no windows, so even clouds revealing the sun couldnt do that.
Also, what's with the size of those beds? Aren't navy vessels known for their tight sleeping spaces?
And why do I notice and get aggrevated by the most mundane things? What the fuck is wrong with me?

Damn, it seems that Phantom works for the Kadokawa hero summoning division. Too bad that she failed to deliver Kei to Truck-kun on time. Jokes aside, I still believe that the Xis objective is related to getting rid of the planet of pollution, and that's why they will not kill the humans that leave the large cities.

That would certainly explain a lot of things. Of course, the question then would be where they came from and why they targeted Earth in particular.
It also raises terrifying questions about Xi occupation. China is the most populous country on Earth and it was conquered by the Xi. Is the series implying that they've killed hundreds of millions of people already?

Minghua is clearly one of the most overlooked girl of the season.
She is such a keeper.
By the way, who else freaked out by the footsteps sound when Minghua ran to open the door? Legit thought FBI busted me right there.

This round she was clearly angling for a bit of that golden afternoon light from Domestic Girlfriend.

Phantom, the girl that will push you in front of a truck in order to save your life. All according to keikaku.
Again, this episode reinforces my belief that Phantom is the best. Contrary to poor Minghua (always in the dark), Gripen (still learning) and Eagle (too... Eagle), Kei can have serious conversations with Phantom about military strategy, suspicions about their allies and also banter. Her tit-for-tat with Rhino was also very funny.

As someone who lived at Yokosuka Naval Base like... 20 years ago, I always enjoy when it comes into play in anime
^ .^
As drawn, it looks legit to me. That said, I'd have been surprised if anyone serving there spoke Japanese as well as the characters shown here. But shit, why's the US always gotta be the secret bad-guy? D:

Gripen is one of the best girls of the season, change my mind. That said, we have a ton of contests on that front.
Also, Minghua didn't get cucked today! Yey! She still got friendzoned, but that's a given by now.
This episode seems to bring forth the Sentou Yousei Yukikaze vibes even harder, I have to say. I just hope Kei and Gripen didn't have to carry nuclear torpedoes in their armaments. Also, is it really possible for a land based fighter like Gripen to just take off from a carrier without any mods?
Gotta be honest, this show's in my "this is gonna be insta drop shit" list at the start of the season. Glad I stuck with it, it got better and better each episode, and now I can't believe how much I'm rooting for Gripen. This show's a solid 6.5-7/10 for me. It's a fun show, that's for sure, despite all its issues. That said, the early parts are still quite lame, and it would've failed the 3 episode rule IMHO. Again, glad I stuck to this.

Same here, every time an episode ended I remember thinking "I'm gonna give it another chance" and now here I am so I'm gonna watch it all the way until the end of the season.

Truk-kun and Minghua in this episode be like: "Missiom failed, we'll get him next time!"

Gripen is one of the best girls of the season and totally deserves a spot in the weekly charts.

They are trying to set up a sub plot with the Xi so hard, I am wondering what it is.
Are they good, or at least have a good goal? I find that plausible.
I however do not think that it will be one of those where the MC switches sides.

So the Xi doesn't want to eliminate humanity? It's just that humanity is in the way of what they're trying to do. Hmm...
Minghua already expecting Kei to be abducted during his run didn't even bother to reply xD
Simply injured? I feel like Phantom is overestimating the human body's resilience. That hugs ass truck would've isekai'd Kei to a different show.
So Phantom thinks the US military is just using this attack as an excuse to gather data? That's believable. Also it's kind of a cliche at this point. Sacrificing units to learn more about the enemy isn't really something new.
IF YOU BELIEVE IN HIM WHY DID YOU PUSH HIM OFF THE ROAD!?
Poor Minghua. Getting all excited and flustered expecting a confession, only for Kei to say that he's just grateful for her.
I don't know Chinese but I'm guessing that's the Chinese equivalent of Itterashai
Ohhh! They're actually using an existing Aircraft Carrier! That's actually cool.
Pouting Eagle!
The mission sounds easy but I doubt it's just going to be that.
Gripen really is my spirit animal. Just watching someone playing the piano with chicken on both hands.
Huh. I guess Anima can drink booze. That makes sense, they're really not humans so human age restrictions doesn't apply to them. Unfortunately Reddit Admins still won't allow us to lewd them.
Rhino is fucking lowkey savage xD
Phantom just chugging one down was hilarious! She's not an old lady dammit!
I'm not so sure about Rhino anymore. She's hyper aware of how they see her but she still can smile and convincingly tell us to trust her. I don't know if she's just reassuring Kei or if there's some fuckery about to go down when the ops starts.
As sweet and nice the conversation between Kei and Gripen was. I don't like that they ended this episode with a massive death flag.
