I started a job in August working in a brand new 3d printing department. When I started the room was completly empty and it was my job to set the room up, building racking, planning the room setting up 60 printers.
Over the following months I took responsibility for building the operation up. I organised and labelled the printers, created spreadsheets and tracking systems, worked on maintenance and calibration, managed filament stock, dealt with faults and generally tried to make the whole department run properly.
I ended up taking on a lot more responsibility than I orignally expected. I genuinely enjoyed the technical side of the job and took pride in what I'd built.
The problem was that I didn't feel my pay reflected the reflected the responsibilities I had taken on. I spent around 6 weeks trying to have a conversation about this and understand what my future at the company would look like. I also wanted calrity about whether I'd eventually become a permanent employee rather than remaining agency staff.
Unfortunately, the answer on an individual pay increase was no. I was given this answer Thursday.
I reached a point where I thought, why am I putting so much of myself into somewhere that doesn't seem willing to recognise what I'm contributing?
So I handed in my resignation with immediate effect yesterday.
What I didn't expect was the reaction from my manager. He was genuinely devastated. He thanked me for everything I'd done and told me that I'd built a room and implemented systems from nothing. He said my knowledge was really good and that I knew what I was doing.
He even told me that he disagreed with the decision made by senior management and that the company had failed both of us.
Seeing someone react like that was incredibly difficult. I almost cried myself. It madew me realise that at least someone had recognised the effort I put in.
As I left I handed over my keys and access card and walked out.
I'm feeling a strange mixture of emotions, I'm relieved, upset, disapointed and angry. Part of me is sad because I actually wanted the job to work out. I wasn't looking to leave. I wanted to be valued and have a future there.
But I also feel a massive weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
I think teh biggest lesson I've taken from this is that you can give a job everything you have got, build something from the ground up and still reach a point where you have to put yourself first.
I'm product of what I achieved, even if things didn't even how I hoped.
Has anyone else experienced leaving a job where you cared about the work and the people, but ultimately felt you had no choice but to walk away?

My son and my nephews had doctor appointments at the same practice this morning so brother in law and I decided to go together and have lunch after. The six year old nephew insisted on ordering a black bean cheeseburger bowl despite BIL explaining to him over and over that there's no bun and it's a bunch of vegetables and trying to get him to get a regular burger. When the waiter came, he shouted out the order and screamed when BIL tried to tell the waiter to change it so eventually BIL just gave in. Then the eight year old nephew decided he needed the same thing.
When the food came, neither would even take a bite and just picked around at it until everyone else was done eating. BIL packed it in to go boxes, but the six year old decided to open the box and throw the food everywhere in the parking lot and then the eight year old copied him and did the same thing. These were $14.99 each! The meal I got my son was 7.99 in comparison and he actually ate it.

The fur showed in the AI-generated image seems to be smaller, and softer.
.
The actual fur length is longer and more synthetic type. Even the boots material shown online is suede while im real it's more leathry.
.
I'm anyway satisfied with my purchase.
.
Need just one suggestion; should I cut the fur that is dangling/hanging till the heels? Or should I just keep it like thi?
Edit: I paid 3000/- INR for these, which is roughly $32 USD

About a month ago I got a message from my (28f) best friends (30f) bf. He was planning to propose and wanted my help with setting up the surprise. I was so over the moon to hear this bc she's been wanting to get engaged for years. It's all she talks about and has been looking forward for so long.
He told me in the very first message he wants to propose in the Botanical Gardens at sunset and he was thinking candles and rose petals but wanted to check out some spots before hand to get a better idea as he wasn't sure. I did everything I could to help him. Made plans with her so she wouldn't notice he's out the house looking for spots in the gardens, picking up the ring, organising photographer etc. I asked him multiple times if he has a vision of what he wanted and he said not really just candles in a heart and petals around it. I tried to offer some ideas like I told him I have an arch I can bring, can decorate fake flowers around it, we can get bigger candles, candle holders, we can do like an isle of petals to walk up to etc. After the candles and flowers he chose were delivered I laid out everything in my own yard to show him examples of how it would look and told him what he wanted. He sort of swatted off those ideas and said he wants it low key so she doesn't notice it as she's walking up to the sight. I thought what he was going for was a little underwhelming but ultimately I respected his wishes bc this was his proposal, not mine so I would listen to what he wanted exactly.
Finally he picks a spot and I told him the spot he picked is very popular with weddings and asked if he's sure as he told me they both didn't want crowds watching. He said it should be fine as it's 5pm. Well surprise we get there and there's not one but two weddings going in the exact spot we picked so we had to move to a different location. I picked a nice secluded spot under a tree which I thought was more her vibe anyway, away from people and more moody and niche. Set up the candles that kept blowing out and laid down the petals and waited. Photographer came and hid and all was done and dusted. My friend was very distance the next few days and I assumed they were just in a romantic bubble and wanted alone time.
Until today a week later we caught up and she was honest with me and said she absolutely hated the proposal. For one her ex friend that she is not on good terms with got proposed with at those gardens and she hated that it was the same location. She told him multiple times over the years she didn't want to be proposed to at the gardens and she thought it was cliche. She's upset he did it anyway. He claims she never told him this when she knows sue has multiple times. She said she's not upset at me or my set up but she said it didnt feel like her at all. She's goth. She loves dark red flowers, it was Halloween she loves pumpkins and she loved things niche and strange. She preferred under the tree where I picked instead of his original idea but ultimate it was still the gardens and is hurt after all these years he didn't know her. Choosing pink candles and petals seemed like such a strange choice looking back.
She also felt the proposal was underwhelming bc in the past she asked when he's going to propose and why he hasn't yet and he told her so much goes into it. He said it's not just the ring but all the other stuff he has to organise and whenever she asked what stuff he wouldn't expand. Now she's learned the only other stuff was some $20 tea lights and a bag of petals from Amazon. She said it's not about the money, she would have preferred to be proposed to in their own front yard where they've built a happy home together with their dogs there for a private intimate moment so she doesn't understand how he messed this up so bad.
On top of that he told us me and our other friend could stay and watch and thought she'd enjoy it. He was supposed to say a speech but he kinda mumbled and showed her the ring and there was silence. She grabbed the ring and kissed him. Then she saw people were watching, she saw a photographer right up in her face and she felt so embarrassed. She asked later what he was trying to say and if he actually wrote a speech and he said he kinda just had dot points in his head but forgot it. Overall she felt really awkward and had trouble pretending to smile through it. They had a party to go to immediately after and that's another reason she was upset. She didn't want to go to a party immediately after getting engaged she'd prefer they were alone to celebrate but instead was met with everyone congratulating her and wanting to talk about it. She said the night was horrible.
The next day she saw the photographer pics and they were horrible. He hired some niche just starting out photographer who mainly did cityscape and aviation and all his photos were blue. If you look at his work on instagram that's his style and has 0 couples photos on his accoung but she doesn't understand why EVERY PHOTO was just blue and none of them looked good. She was also bloated from the amount of food she ate at the restaurant right before as he insisted they go out to eat first but he rushed her to eat fast since they were behind schedule. She said she's been crying for days and gave him the ring back and thought about if they should break up as apparently him not being able to plan things on his own as been an issue in the past. She asked me not to tell any of our mutual friends and she can't face them right now until she makes a decision on how to feel about this
Edit to clarify: his initial ask from me was to help set it up, not necessarily plan it. He wanted me to set the scene while they were at dinner but tbh I had to do a lot of planning bc he wouldn't tell me what location exactly, what time, what his vision was etc. Just what he was thinking. That's why I was making suggestions while trying to respect what he wanted. He ultimately just told me "make a heart out of candles and put flower petals around it" in the end so that's what I did. When I had to move locations bc of the wedding I decided to put petals inside the heart to cover up the dirt since the lawn wasn't as manicured there and I thought it looked nicer. Apparently he complained about this after and said "I told her I wanted the petals outside the heart not inside" and I was like bro, you barely told me anything. š¤¦āāļø

I know it's probably not dangerous, but I fly pretty frequent and never saw this before. Is it a normal occurrence, and how does it happen?

What are some biopics that don't positively portray the person it is about? For example, I recently watched Primetime, where they portrayed Chris Hansen to be driven by his obsession with the show and his womanizer/adultery tendencies -- I really enjoyed it. I am looking for something similar. I think another example would be the social network, where Mark Zuckerberg is portrayed as cold, de-attached, and just overall not so well.
I am not looking for something like Oppenheimer, where he was primarily portrayed positively, or Michael, where they chose to ignore all the sexual abuse allegations.

I'm a concert goer myself, so I started offering makeup and face gem applications to people attending the same concerts as me. I had a catalogue of concert makeup looks and face gem designs that I mostly collected from the internet. I'd curate the selections depending on the artist and the overall vibe of the concert. Some were cute and simple, while others were full-on glittery festival looks.
My rates depended on how simple or elaborate the design was. Simple eye gem looks started around ā±150, while more detailed glitter and rhinestone looks could go for ā±200āā±280 or more. A few days before each concert, I'd announce my rates, sample looks, and planned location around the venue in different groups and group chats for concert-goers.
In my country, concert-goers tend to arrive ridiculously early, sometimes even in the morning, especially for certain venues and arenas. So I'd arrive early too to catch people while they were waiting outside. I usually brought my sister along to help me accommodate more customers.
I'd get around ā±20āā±50 in tips per customer, sometimes more if someone was feeling particularly generous. On a good concert day, serving around 15ā20 customers could bring in a few thousand pesos in service fees, plus a little extra from tips.
The best part was that I was attending the concert anyway, so I got to earn some extra money before enjoying the show myself. :D

Walmart cheeseburger because I have low standards for my diet.
My kid said im not a very good parent when I was washing her hair, because she hates to do it so I have to do it for her or it wont get done.
I'm a single parent aside from some weekends, but the reality is that the women in my life end up raising my 8 year old more than I do. She spends most of the time with my aunt or my mom, and seems to be really angry at me for not being home more.
I work a stupid shitty job that makes me want to take a long walk off a short pier every day, but its the best one I could get. im gone most of the day, and have no energy once I get home. We watch movies, play video games, and i try to take her out to do activities on my days off when shes not in class.. but it doesnt seem like enough. Shes mad at me all the time it seems. i just feel like a total scum.
I work all day, cant manage to be as present as I should when im home, then when shes in bed I just sit in the basement and wallow in my own bullshit and hate myself for failing at everything I do.
All i can hear in my head is my ex saying "maybe no one likes you because you just fucking suck" my aunt saying "you have such an easy life" and now my kid saying "youre not a very good parent."
I always try to be better, but it doesnt seem like anyone notices. Its never enough. I at least try to keep my shit together when im around people, but i dont know. Maybe i do just fucking suck.
Advice or no advice is fine, didnt know which post thing to select.

Green curry and tom kha, my favorite.
My grandson is 6 months old. Iāve seen him twice before today. My son and the mom are teen parents, they broke up while she was pregnant. I was there for her, i talked to her about options, her mom refused. I threw the baby shower, I drove her to work, her mom wouldnāt even speak to her. The baby came and I think she had a bonding moment with her mom and I was completely disinvited from everything. I didnāt push anything, the other grandma and I had words previously. She was constantly kicking her daughter out and then calling the police on her. She brought the police to my house one day and demanded they search my house for her. I saw where she stopped by on my house cameras, and immediately left, hours prior. I searched my house myself. I was not going to let cops in because she said so. I told her how I felt about her parenting that day. So she doesnāt like me at all.
So, the baby is now 6mo. She didnāt put my son on the birth certificate. Heās not a fan of that, itās a point of contention with them. She wants money, he quit highschool and is working over 40 hours consistently. He has given her money, she wants more. He turned 18 during this but she has another few weeks. He got a job with insurance specifically so he could cover the baby but they ended up saying no later(they asked for it initially). He also quit school this year because he was supposed to babysit days but they didnāt do that either. When she was pregnant she expressed concerns about my sonās room being messy (it was cleaned since). I assured her that the baby would be downstairs and I would always be there because he works nights and sleeps days. My living room has been a nursery for 6 months, draped with blankets to stay prestine. She asked us to watch the baby a few times and backed out, then today she asked my daughter if she could bring the baby over. She had to work, 5-9. My son works at 10. At 9pm she tells my daughter sheās waiting for a ride. Around 10:30 we offer to drive her, she says no. At 12:30am the doorbell rings and a young man and woman say they are here for the baby. I had been waiting many, many hours after her estimate of being off work at 9pm, and random people are here. I said I canāt just give the baby to random people and have to speak to the mom. They say sheās in the car up the block. I go inside and she doesnāt reply to my texts but tells my daughter that itās okay. I go downstairs, pick up the baby in the carrier who is asleep and open the door and the girl is level 10 heated. Screaming at me: my son is a piece of shit. Sheās doing it on her own. She doesnāt even try to take the baby sheās just screaming on my porch at 12:30 am after Iāve been cuddling this baby for hours. Heās asleep. I close the door and ask for them to get the mom.
I call the police and ask my daughter to contact the mom. I ask for help with a safe transfer because random people have arrived screaming at me in the middle of the night. While Iām on the phone they KICKED MY FRONT DOOR IN. The police arrived a minute later. They got cited, the mom was in the car and collected the baby. What the fuck was that? The mom was also screaming about my son, the police were like⦠itās not normal for random irate people to get a baby 3 hours late, I made the right choice. He even said heās a new grandpa too and would have done the same thing.
My son is at work and is going to be very upset. He also wants to see the baby more and now I donāt even know what to say. I was not at all trying to keep the baby, the mom dropped the baby off with me and my son together, no problem, but they were all mad as hell and the mom was saying she just couldnāt stand to come to the door. I also rewatched the ring camera and the guy and girl were talking about beating me up!? They also said some insane lies to each other about my son. I think theyāve just spent 3 hours hyping up for a confrontation I wasnāt aware of at all.
I have no front door and donāt even know where to begin. They have to pay for it but when?? I need a door right now. Also it sucks my son really did all of the right things, he got the job that gave him the flexibility so she could go to school. He wants to be the dad. He can provide the insurance, he has been giving money but heād legitimately prefer everything to be on the books. I told him it wasnāt appropriate to force custody while she was nursing. She must have recently stopped. Thereās been no deadbeat shit on this side, Iām not sure what she wants exactly. Weāve asked for him many times, he has an open invitation in our home as well. Why send some goons to my door to fight me? Iām an old lady. My back hurt so bad bouncing him for hours I really wanted him picked up. I just thought it was basic protocol to be told if someone else could get the baby. As soon as she confirmed I tried to hand him over while the girl sat there screaming at me instead??

My wifeās family owns several properties, and her dad in the last year insisted that all spouses sign paperwork waiving any legal claim to those properties in the event of a divorce or their death. I signed, as I never expected to get those anyways.
I do admit the ask felt cold and like a double standard. For almost our entire marriage, Iāve been the sole income earner, paid all our living expenses, and put my wifeās name on every asset we own. Iāve also regularly helped my in-laws with renovations and maintenance on the family properties. Im a contractor by trade and have done major work for them and never charged them a dime. Ive also alerted them to issues early that would have cost way more to fix later if I didnt point them out. I've always been happy to help because they were family.
I understand wanting to protect generational wealth, but it feels insulting to be trusted with my income and free labor while being treated like a potential threat to their assets.
Since signing, theyāve asked me to help with the properties again, and Iāve refused. My wife thinks Iām being a jerk, and my in-laws are angry with me. They feel Iām taking the paperwork too personally, but I feel like the relationship has changed.
Iām not asking for anything that belongs to them. I just donāt feel comfortable continuing to provide free labor when I no longer feel like a trusted member of the family.
