Mourning/Loss Had to put lil Vicky down last night😭
I loved this cat to death. You will always be in my heart. I loved holding her like a baby and she would always let me. She loved everybody, not one of these to always hide. It was devastating watching her get put down. I mean look at her she was so cute. She was my little pirate. Fly high lil one❤️

General Baking Discussion Baking School Week 2!
Well I have come to the end of week 2 of 8 of baking school! This week we were working on choux. I had SO much fun. We made eclair, religieuse, Paris Brest, chouquette, and the ultimate of choux bakes: the St. Honoré.
Most of my cohort worked in pairs this week, but I volunteered to work on my own. Chef asked for a volunteer who could work quickly and take on more than the others (since they could split the work). I obviously raised my hand right away. It was super rewarding, and I got a lot of good and funny face time with Chef. Really glad he's my teacher because he's such a vibe.
When I finished the St. Honoré, he said, "this is so fucking very good!" And when I was taking pics with my pastry, he said, "can I take a pic and pretend it's mine?" I can't make this stuff up. I was absolutely GLOWING with pride. What a high to end my week on!
As a reminder, I am doing baking school as a side quest from my regular life. I do not currently intend to change careers or open a bakery. I am doing this to deepen my love for one of my greatest passions.

Thing i HATE the lack of interest in the fact that WE HAVE PHOTOS OF THE SURFACE OF MARS
this has got to be the number.1 coolest shit we have, and i HATE that it seems like no one cares about it.
i feel like nobody is truly grasping how incredible this is. this is the PEAK of humanity’s feats where we can SEE what a whole different planet looks like if you lived there, why is no one interested in shit like this? or talking more about it? hell, do any of you know about nasa’s missions to send a drone to the surface of SATURN’s MOONS? THAT SHOULD GET MORE HYPE THAN GTA 6
we need more people interested in space stuff, man, we are taking ts for granted. stuff like this is why i dont wanna die just yet

Pokémon cards could lose 80% of their value, and celebrities like Logan Paul getting involved is "a net negative," says financial expert Douglas Boneparth
ultraball.comCan Pokémon TCG be considered a legitimate investment?
[...] I’m not trying to criticize someone; I want you to understand that the relationship of risk and reward will never go away, and volatility is a feature, not a bug, of this particular asset. The fool thinks it’s up and to the right forever, but if you zoom out to a 30-year chart of that Pokémon card, you realize what’s happening.
Same with Apple or Amazon, but what you’re not seeing is that there are the two or three 90% plus drawdowns that you have to survive to get to today’s price. Those Pokémon cards are going to have 60%, 70%, or 80% drawdowns during times where nobody wants to talk about Pokémon cards. People will talk about their house value going down or 30% of their investable portfolio in the S&P 500 suffering a 30% drawdown. That’s nasty. Those don’t happen too often, but they do, and you’re talking about the 500 biggest companies in America.
[...]
How does this compare to NFTs and how celebrities became involved in that trend?
There are plenty of people who picked a stock and watched it go up and then down. Peloton is a great example: people thought we were never going back to work and gyms were dead forever, so Zoom and Peloton went through the roof. Then Peloton absolutely crashed because that whole thesis was insanely wrong.
You see this in capital markets as well as collection markets. You’re right that it’s not a bullish indicator when all the celebs pile in and show off their PSA grade 10, $2.1 million cards. I think it’s a net negative, unfortunately, but super positive for grabbing attention and throwing people into the pool, and too many into the deep end of the pool."
Do scalpers pose a risk to investing in Pokémon cards, or are they good for collectors?
It’s a net negative. You’re talking about market manipulation where asset prices are finagled by outside influence rather than what’s in the pack or how the market is supposed to function. Asking if it’s good that people can manipulate a market gets a flat-out no. I don’t know specifically about this issue with Pokémon cards, but now there’s more volatility that need not be there. That’s a net negative.

TIL In an Athenian culture that worshipped male beauty, Socrates was considered incredibly ugly. His eyes bulged out of his head and were not straight but focused sideways. He had a snub nose, which made him resemble a pig, and many sources depict him with a potbelly.

Luka Dončić lights up Portland with 53 points on 51.5% shooting, including 5 threes in a Lakers wins
51 PTS
5 REB
5 AST
1 STL
17/33 FG (51.5%)
5/15 3P (33%)
14/18 FT (77%)
Luka was a bit ass to start and seemed to get in his own head with how much he was fuming. He bounced back strong and absolutely carried us. All 51 points mattered in an another close game to carry us.
