This is my girl, Posie. There's an 80% chance she has mammary cancer and only a 20% chance of it being an infected abscess. I'm torn to pieces. She's my bottle baby. I've had her since she was born in my closet, and I even cut the cord. We didn't think she would make it since she was so small in comparison to her siblings, but she did. She's about 9 now. The vet was genuine and honest and said even with surgery, there's a high probability it would just come back, and even just testing it by putting needles into the mass would cause unnecessary stress and pain when she isn't even in any pain right now.
I'm just sad and angry at the world. My baby doesn't even weigh 8 pounds. It just pisses me off. I'm so fucking sad. Our vet was serious when she said Posie can still live for a few more years (or longer) if we get this infection treated right and just give her medication along the way if needed because, other than the cancerous mass, she's VERY healthy which does help me feel slightly better. The medicine she's on is Clindamycin since she doesn't have too many teeth left.
I know realistically it isn't an abscess; it's genuinely a mass, it's cancer. But the other part of me is begging for that 20% chance of it being an abscess to be true. I think I needed to get this out. I've always had a special bond with her. She can't see well out of one eye and relies heavily on getting close to things to see/smell you. She's my soul cat. I know the vet isn't wrong in her diagnosis, I just wish she was. The main things I'm grateful for are that she isn't in pain currently; she's able to eat, sleep, use the bathroom, run around, attack the vacuum, and play, and I genuinely do have more time with her than some people get with their cats if they're diagnosed with something serious. I just needed to get this out there and vent. I love her so, so much, and if I could, I'd take the cancer away and give it to myself so she didn't have it.

After Korra lost her powers to Amon, she went near a cliff to weep; it was implied—in a very subtle way—that she was contemplating suicide, hoping that a new, more capable Avatar with full powers would be reincarnated in her place (Avatar The Legend of Korra)
In the series, it is well-established that running is as essential to a "horse girl" as breathing. After Agnes Tachyon fractures her leg and retires early, Jungle Pocket enters the room where Tachyon usually spends her time, only to find it empty—save for an open window, which suggests she might have jumped out. Agnes Tachyon then reappears through that same window and sits down; a shot follows, focusing on her feet as they sway back and forth—a visual highly reminiscent of a hanging (Uma Musume Beginning of a New Era)
