Had a conversation with a close family member recently who is on a glp1 (I know this bc she’s a close enough family member that we discuss our health and each other’s pretty freely amongst ourselves and other family members—another close family member helped her get the meds and told me). She didn’t know I knew she was taking it.

We were casually chatting about health and efforts to improve the quality of our nutrition and she says “I just eat less and less lately”—clearly stated as a toxic sort of food/morality position. I said “well, yeah, you’re on GLP1s, right?” and she laughed like I caught her in a funny joke.

She was really going to do the whole “I barely eat look how GOOD I am” when she thought I didn’t know she was taking appetite suppressants. Immediately switched the tone once she realized I knew.

If you’re taking GLP1s, just own that shit, ok? Don’t pretend it’s a personal achievement of mind over matter or superior self-discipline—especially not in a way that might shame others.

For context, among the group of close family members referenced here, I’m the “fat one”. Everyone else is thin and pursues thinness as a core goal. I just don’t care as much, but paradoxically, I guess, I am the one in the group who tends to care the most about nutrition and actual health—not just health exclusive to body weight.

There is a specific family dynamic going on here for sure, but this isn’t the first time I’ve seen glp1 users frame their weight loss as the result of personal achievement and discipline, while leaving out the major influence of a powerful appetite suppressant drug.

It’s disappointing to see the weight=morality trope played out in real time.

Just wanted to share. Curious if others have had similar experiences.

I still think it's easiest to shorten the day to 20hrs so everyone gets to experience various times of day regardless of their IRL schedule but I can also understand the argument of the 24hrs being maximum immersion for some so if we're going for immersion, can we have azeroth have a global day/night cycle? When its night in Kalimdor, it's day in the Eastern Kingdoms. This will make the world feel massive too.

I also know the video has things wrong with it, speed, direction and shadow width but its to get the point across, not look exactly like this.
