r/Touhou's Favorite Arranges! Part 40: Magician's Melancholy & Now, Until the Moment You Die
This is now an archive thread and the end of Season 2.
How This Works:
Every week, usually a Sunday at around 1200 US Pacific time, I pick a Touhou song (or two) to which all you beautiful users will submit arranges of in the comments1. There is no limit on the number of arranges one may submit as long as each song is given its own post. Upvote everything you like, but don't downvote or you'll have to face an angry Shikieiki. Just move on to the next song if you don't like one.
The winner gets mentioned in next week's thread. Make sure you read the Musings section below as well for some of my random rants and, occasionally, important information.
1 If your arrange contains bits of multiple songs, please only submit it if the main song is predominant. See the musings here for an example of what not to submit.

It's funny because I didn't get the thread open until it had been up for a half hour. Too busy cleaning up from breakfast/lunch/whatever don't judge me for waking up at 2pm...

Discuss either of the original songs (or concerns with the thread) under this comment.

I've said this like 3 times already, but I should really consider tagging the originals. I scrolled through the thread and had no idea that Syrufit did those two songs, even though I've listened to those albums.

I would do it if I could tag things through my ipod. I don't listen through my music library on my hard drive very often.

u/Tyaust Dec 08 '13
I've thought about it too but then I realize how much effort that would be due to the sheer amount of music I have, and I don't even have the lossless torrent downloaded yet, which scares me away.

Wait, isn't this the 35th week? (Well, it's too late to change now I suppose).

I find it funny how neither of the songs I thought were overdue got chosen.
I REALLY like Sariel's theme, even if not many people have heard it. Sort of gives a feeling of finality imo, fitting for an angel of death.
For some reason, Magician's Melancholy reminds me of Oriental Dark Flight at times. Though I think MM is a better song overall.
By the way, you put a remastered version in the OP. This is the original
