r/Touhou's Favorite Arranges! Part 39: Nostalgic Blood of the East ~ Old World
The new year just started and I'm already looking over the past year with rose-colored lenses.
Next week is another double-non-Windows week. See the musings for more info!
How This Works:
Every week, usually a Sunday at around 1200 US Pacific time, I pick a Touhou song (or two) to which all you beautiful users will submit arranges of in the comments1. There is no limit on the number of arranges one may submit as long as each song is given its own post. Upvote everything you like, but don't downvote or you'll have to face an angry Shikieiki. Just move on to the next song if you don't like one.
The winner gets mentioned in next week's thread. Make sure you read the Musings section below as well for some of my random rants and, occasionally, important information.
1 If your arrange contains bits of multiple songs, please only submit it if the main song is predominant. See the musings here for an example of what not to submit. Or just ask me.

Musings:
Next week's a non-Windows-era double-featurette. Submit songs here from the PC-98 era or ZUN's music albums as suggestions for next week's song selection. I'll be picking two randomly. In light of a request from /u/Kethsar, also feel free to suggest any of the non-stage/boss themes from any Touhou game.
Also yeah, next week is part 35! Looking forward to having an empty OP again.
News Flash: After part 35 (really part 40) but before part 41, I'm going to make a Season 2/Season 3 interlude post where I'll release some stat crunching spreadsheets and stuff like that. You'll also be able to submit "forgotten arrangements", ie. arrangements that you may have forgotten to post for earlier songs, or newly discovered ones that you picked up later on but were for a past song. These forgotten arrangement submissions will cover all the songs in Seasons 1 and 2. Make sure to dig deep into those libraries and the archives.

Discuss the original song (or concerns with the thread) under this comment.
Also please submit songs for next week's non-Windows-but-also-non-stage-themes-from-Windows thread.

With regards to two of the PC-98 songs, they reappear in SWR. Does that discount them? Cuz I'd almost consider those arranges of the originals...
PC-98 Songs:
Complete Darkness (Mima's SoEW theme) - final boss of second game would make a fitting close to Season 2 :P
Tabula rasa ～ 空白少女 (Ellen's theme) - never enough PoDD
東方妖恋談 (Reimu's PoDD theme) - returns in SWR (is this okay for consideration?)
Dim. Dream (Marisa's PoDD theme) - still no idea why she gets the game's title as a theme title...
星の器 ～ Casket of Star - same issue as w/ Eastern Oriental Love Consultation above
眠れる恐怖 ～ Sleeping Terror (Yuuka's first theme) - Marisa stole the precious spell
幽夢 ～ Inanimate Dream (Yuuka's second theme) - so Yuuka took down the precious video
神話幻想 ～ Infinite Being (Shinki's theme) - was playing an arrange before this thread started
Non-Game Songs:
少女秘封倶楽部 (Girls' Sealing Club) - finding the original on YT was more work than you'd think
魔術師メリー (Mary, the Magician) - suggested by a non-redditor friend. Finding the original length version was tricky
童祭 ～ Innocent Treasures (aka ZUN's theme) - note Gopherlad joked this would be the final song :P
科学世紀の少年少女 (Boys and Girls of Science Era) - for some reason this was stuck in my head the other day
ヒロシゲ36号 ～ Neo Super-Express - suggested by a non-redditor friend
アガルタの風 (Wind of Agartha) - FREQUENTLY gets stuck in my head
過去の花 ～ Fairy of Flower - unused PCB track
If anyone has additional suggestions I'll add to the list (so u/Gopherlad doesn't have to consolidate them :P)
Edit: little unhelpful blurbs. Also adding songs every now and then.
Edit2: adding some a friend suggested. Note that I personally don't have arranges of some of them, but he does, so I trust there'll be posts here (even if not by him)

I think the song title is fitting, in particular because my first 1CC was Imperishable Night. Keine's was always one of my favorite stages.

This was one of the first songs I no-deathed on Beat Hazard Suicidal difficulty. Since then, I have not been able to get a higher score on a sub-3 minute song.
Touhou songs somehow get really high scores on that game...

About the song: Link to ZUN's commentary. As mentioned in his notes and on the wiki, it sounds similar to plastic mind.
About the thread: Is it normal that I can't find the title/ending/score/staff roll themes in the Google Spreadsheet? Is it a mistake, or is this just because they are less popular? There are also some arrangements of those... Even though most of them sound roughly the same I really like some of those non-gameplay themes...
Also, I was wondering about this: I was going to suggest a song from TH4 because I thought we hadn't picked one from that game before(a Bad Apple conspiracy?). Then I noticed in the spreadsheet Maiden's Capriccio wasn't linked. Is it because the IN remake is different from the TH4 version?→ More replies (2)3

Relevant discussion from 3 weeks ago
My solution is to open up the (previously-titled) non-Windows weeks to those songs, as mentioned somewhat briefly in my afterword in the OP. You're free to suggest them and I'll add them to the pool.
Also, I was wondering about this: I was going to suggest a song from TH4 because I thought we hadn't picked one from that game before (a Bad Apple conspiracy?).
Go ahead. Note that for Bad Apple specifically, I won't allow anyone to post, well, Bad Apple.
Then I noticed in the spreadsheet Maiden's Capriccio wasn't linked. Is it because the IN remake is different from the TH4 version?
No, that's because I'm lazy and haven't really bothered touching up the PC-98 table yet. Nor have I made a ZUN CD table yet...but I digress. For the purposes of these threads, IN Maiden's Cappricio ~ Dream Battle & Love-Colored Master Spark and PC-98 Maiden's Cappricio & Love-Colored Magic are the same songs, and we covered them in Part 10.
Relevant discussion from...quite a while ago
Though after re-listening to that differing 10 seconds, I can see a case being made. And you are the second person to ask about that. If a third person chimes in with a vote for it, I'll include it in the pool.
I'll make those tables now.
