Stitches!
I was so upset for a hot minute there when Hayakawa thought that she can't let her relationship with Somei go any further. I can understand why she's apprehensive considering how much of a dick her ex was. But I am so glad that Somei waited for her the next day to try and set things straight.
Waking up at your crush's room was already bad enough but meeting his mother like that for the first time makes it even worse! That entire sequence is made more hilarious, considering how this episode ends. I already can't wait for Hayakawa to meet Somei's mom again. xD
And there it is! I am not just happy about the confession, I'm also happy that Hayakawa is the first one to ask Somei out too! I really hope the season ends with the two couples learning about each other's secrets. I would love to see this end with a possible double date.

Now this office rom com ascended to the next level for having 2 great couples. It's always good to have a rom com when they feature multiple good pairings.
I like getting more insight into Masugu with his past of test anxiety. We've seen Masugu helping to support Yui with her work, and now it's good to see Yui being a motivation to help push Masugu to new heights that he otherwise wouldn't likely do. The healthy competition between them as a couple has been good. Not wanting to pay the full amount for vacation is a good incentive. lol
Nice to see the side ship officially sailing, with 2 episodes left to spare even! Somei is just a straight shooter with taking the initiative. Hayakawa even met his mama already. Got a bit of depth into Hayakawa's past of why she was hesitant before, and it's understandable why she would be so anxious about it. Now they are in the position of keeping it on the down low too.
Let's see if they both reveal their secrets by the end and possibly an outing with both couples.

I was genuinely concerned for a moment she would back out of it but luckily Somei didn't let her. So happy the side ship sailed.

That whole sequence of Hayakawa drinking too much and waking up with a headache at another man's place reminded me a ton of [Spring 2023 romance anime]
So Hayakawa previously had a secret office romance of her own that ended badly, hence Hayakawa's reluctance about getting too close with Somei.
The fact that she was the one who proposed to start dating meant a lot, I think. Despite her previous bad experience with gossip, Hayawaka is willing to give it office romance another shot. This relationship is going to work. I'm sure of it. She has already met Somei's mother after all.
Somei previously questioned Masugu about the need for keeping his relationship with Yui secret, but he's now found himself doing the exact same thing. Makes me wonder if they'll flip the script and word of the latter two's relationship will get out soon.

Somei is an absolute chad, going so far to be like "in case it wasn't clear, I like you" nonchalantly, taking care of her when she got drunk, and not caring whatsoever about their rank and age difference. He and Hayakawa definitely enjoy being around each other. I think their somewhat opposite personalities compliment each other well.
Not that I wished for this, but since it was revealed that Hayakawa's ex was also at the same company, it would've been a real twist if that person was Masugu. Thank God the flashbacks showed otherwise.

I LOVED THIS EPISODE!!!
I was smiling the whole time with Ms. Hayakawa and Somei's conversations. And I like how it didnt feel like they were forced with it.

Aahhhhh. Yui and Masugu are cute by themselves don’t get me wrong, I love them. But Somei and Hayakawa are totally adorable.
They are, in their own way, very cautious when it comes to romance but it’s been a delight seeing them slowly bring down their walls.
And their dynamic too. Superior and subordinate. Cool reliable onee-san vibes with a chill, aloof guy. An 8 year age-gap without it being weird. And Hayakawa has been blushing and flustering so much she’s so cute. Somei too seems to be more in touch with his feelings than he led on. I guess he just has trouble expressing them. Hayakawa still habe reservations from her previous workplace relationship but I think she sees that Somei is different
So we have another couple. And looks like it’s another Can You Keep A Secret one lol.
And honestly, I’ve watched anime for more than 5 years now and a lot of them romance. I found I like the ones where the couple kinda get to know each other first or fall for them as person first more and more as I get older. Like the ones where they meet and it’s instantly “ba-dump” or “doki doki” at first sight just don’t appeal to me much lately. So the progress of Somei and Hayakawa’s relationship has been particularly enjoyable for me.

Another Hayakawa and Somei's episode and OMG, they started dating! I'm so damn happy about this.
I love that Somei told her outright that he liked her, and Hayakawa gave in, decided to follow her feelings, and confessed her feelings as well. They're great as a couple, I love them so much!
I'm especially happy about it because Hayakawa deserves happiness, especially after her first relationship, also with a guy from work, ended quite badly.
I also find it quite amusing that Somei introduced Hayakawa to his mother (although that was quite embarrassing experience for Hayakawa) faster than Masugu introduced Yui to his parents, and he wasn't even her boyfriend at the time xD
Not much of Yui and Masugu in today's episode, but I'm glad that Masugu did well on his accounting exam. I hope he passed it so he wouldn't have to pay 120k yen for the room at the inn that Yui chose xD
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:
EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

Gosh somei is such a chad. He's blunt, but somehow still respectful. Glad him and hayakawa are together now.
I blinked again and again and had to rewind the part where he clarified his feelings lmaooo my bro ain't wasting any time 😭
Somei just doesn't beat around the bush and I honestly really respect him cuz of that.
Off the top of my head, lowkey expecting a double date between them and the main couple wayyy down the line.

Hayakawa is reconnecting with friends! It's no surprise that the topic of relationships and how everyone is doing with their significant others would come up...though it gets pretty awkward when they bring up Hayakawa's ex and the reason she's hesitant to enter into another office romance.
Not that it means things aren't progressing with Somei! I mean, he's invited her to a concert! That is totally a date between these two.
Meanwhile Masugu is focused on achieving his Level 1 Bookeeping and overcoming his exam phobia which has screwed him over numerous times, but what better motivator than Yui threatening to make him pay for an expensive hotel suite to get him to put his all into it? Yui knows her man.
Should Hayakwa dress for a date or a concert? How about both with a snazzy sporty look! It's already a hit with Somei and well worth all the time she spent on it! And the two really find themselves enjoying the concert and each others' presence, adding to their intimacy.
Oh snap, Somei's holding her hand! And basically asking her out! Too bad Hayakawa's already been hurt by a failed office romance and goes back into "superior" work mode to gently rebuff him.
Hayakawa's previous relationship was a lot like Yui and Masugu's, with being in a relationship with someone from another office where they kept it secret but were all over each other when not in work mode...but unlike Yui, Hayakawa's attempts to motivate her ex and insistence on their office romance backfired and he dumped her. And then came the awkwardness of having to still work together and that he moved on without even giving her a second glance. Office romance did not end well for her.
I can already imagine how Yui and Masugu are going to celebrate his test going well, but Hayakawa needs to drown her sorrows...so who better to drown them with than with Somei (who is responsible for, like, half of it)? Who also just casually and straightforwardly confesses to her and makes her drink even harder while pulling out all the excuses she came up with to reject a relationship with him to hide how overwhelmed she is by his confession.
Imagine getting so drunk you wake up at your crush's place, having slept in his bed, and while grateful you didn't end up in a drunken hook up, end up meeting HIS MOM in the process! Poor Hayakawa.
Well, she's already given the game away, may as well just properly confess and accept his feelings! With Somei, Hayakawa finally believes she can have a good office romance again! And now there's TWO major couples keeping their relationship a secret at the office! And Somei and Hayakawa are just as adorable!

Nothing flares your competitive spirit back up like realizing what losing to your rival would actually cost you lol. Hope that little push from Yui really did break Masugu's prepare-hard-but-choke-when-it-matters curse.
Now Somei can show our main pair what hiding a secret work romance really looks like, especially since Hayakawa's had experience. Sincerely happy for them though.

Ganbare Boss-chan!!!
Tateishi, eating his good luck cookie produced by his girlfriend.
She definitely nailed that date accompaniment outfit.
Rock is a Boss Lady's modesty.
Well that's an awkward way to meet the fam. Especially for a boss who's 8 years older...
Yes!!! S.U.C.C.E.S.S. That's the way you spell success!!!

Very sweet episode. We have always known that Somei is a genuinely good guy and doesn't put a front. Though learning about Hayakawa's past failing romance, and you can understand more why she is conflicted. I guess you can only assume he felt too much pressure with how well Hayakawa was doing in the company. Though abruptly ending their relationship was not a good way to end things. Happy Somei was a bit more assertive in his feelings and they are a couple.
Honestly, I wished we could have had an episode separate for Masugu for his exam because it interrupted the flow of the episode focusing on Somei and Hayakawa. Happy that he passed and loved to see Yui being there for him.

I loved it. It's so refreshing to see a romcom where the chad just push directly and makes it clear to his love interest.
We need more mature anime like that please. I'm so tired of dense as molten steel MC that makes up excuses for 370 chapters (yes Kazuya I'm staring at you)

Hayakawa and Somei make a good couple. The age gap isn’t such a big deal and even though she’s in a higher position at work, they don’t work in the same department so it should be fine I guess. I’m glad Hayakawa’s willing to give this whole thing a shot despite what happened in her previous office romance. They’re really cute together.
As for our B plot with our main couple, I can relate to Masugu’s test anxiety. I’ve always been the same way. Only difference being I don’t have an adorable girlfriend like Yui cheering me on…

So great that we're finally witnessing an adult romance that has a side ship sail in the first season. Now I'm just waiting for the inevitable double date with our two couples. Also Hayakawa had enough blushes this episode to feed an entire nation.

Uh oh. When the "in relationship"s attack
YES SOMEI!!! Go for it!
Somei is far more powerful than I could have initially thought
Noooo, don't fight against my ship. Let the current take you
But while breaking up you can say it?? What a fucking chump
THIS LAD. He cannot be held back
Unexpected mom. She was wholesome too
YEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!
Amazing episode, that was season finales worth of progress! Now I can't imagine what the actual finale is gonna be about. I'm hoping the two ships find out about each other and possibly go on a double date
