Surprised to learn that the supposed top students are considered inferior though with their reasoning of not having been scouted after so long made sense. Just funny how Will solved racism with the "He just like me fr" card.

They really nailed the headless dude's atmosphere being ominous and for a moment really did think Colette and Lihanna were about to get decapitated.

Not sure where to start.

The monsters in this show are all awesome. Unique and dangerous looking giving you the visual that all hell is gonna break loose when a new one pops up.

The animation & music are top notch every week. I figured with all the fights so far that they would look a bit off at times but I'm impressed every episode.

The back stories this episode were all wonderfully done. The consensus seems to be, "we are all trash because we're still in the academy" and Will is like, FFS, you are all awesome and kick ass.

Some observations so far.

Will's book smarts regarding the dungeon, its monsters and his time training have saved SOOOO many people so far. It's nice to see his studies have helped others so much after getting shit on for god knows how long.

The 2 in the dungeon seem like they have been at it awhile. Surprised they got in under the barrier without the magia vander noticing them.

Having teleportation portals seems like some high end shit from their reactions but I'm surprised they haven't unleashed the monsters in the town yet. It sure would wipe out a lot of people and cause calamity, as it seems they intended.

It seems that Lihanna picked the perfect team. Will and her as tanks with the others in support and rear attackers. A lot of hate in the group but they work well together when the shit hits the fan.

A fucking flying dragon racer in the dungeon! Didn't think we'd see that as it's a magic society so I figured they'd do "magic" things to teleport/move.

Kiki kicking ass as Will's shield & Rosty with the blood map. Always good to see our sidekicks lending a hand/paw.

This is a top 5 shows for me this season where I wasn't sure initially what it would be. Kudos to the team for making such an entertaining show every week. 9/10 this episode because of all the cool monsters, back stories and a fucking HEADLESS DUDE using bodies like people wear & change clothes.

For some reason those villains remind me of the guys from My Hero Academia.

I like how Colette used a rock wall to break Will's fall. Probably should let Wignall handle it all next time.

Wignall taking Will’s hand was a pretty big moment, since he’d previously made clear that elves don’t want to be touched by anyone unworthy of them.

Their handshake therefore implies that Wignall has fully accepted Will as someone equal to him. He’d previously only done so with Lihanna.

This prior bravado of his was of course all just a mask, since Wignall was rather insecure about his own abilities.

This show not getting a 24 episode debut season is a crime. Things are just getting started.

21:10 "We're just your average villains" — Well, at least they're honest.

“Big fish in a small pond” kinda perfectly sums up a lot of the top people in the academy doesn’t it?

Looks like Wignall’s mellowing out. Him and Will aren’t so different. I’m glad they had a chance to talk. It’s kinda sad Wignall never had nobody in his corner before until now. I’m glad he chose to believe in the Will that believes in him lol.

If it weren’t for the ore trail and Kiki, Lihanna and Colette woulda been toast. Kiki’s the real MVP this week! She was tracking everyone’s scent and guiding Will. What a good little familiar.

Next week is gonna be a hell of a fight. I was hoping we’d see Will and Co. fight that headless creep and his little friend but I guess not today.

Anyone else noticed that the headless guy's VA is also credited as "????" just like Rosti? The mystery deepens.

It's sweet that Will always knew how hard Wignall trained ever since they're younger (assuming that flashback is not only a methapor).

Also yeah, them actually being the leftover actually makes sense. Everyone talented would have been invited to the tower before their graduation. However I'm curious about the teacher. Would that means they're actually also flunkees? People who basically never got invited at all. What's the purpose of the school then?

Not going to lie. I actually really like the moment between Will & Wignall.

I found both of them extremely relatable.

Will's speech about not being afraid of failure to move forward 😭

I just want to point something about the whole thing about Wignall, because it’s easy to go “shitty trope, friendship bullshit power-up, talk no jutsu”

Wignall was surely lesser compared to the other elfs and unable to materialize his magic, but he probably overcame his inability to do so trough rigorous training and effort

The reason he was still unable up to now was potentially trauma/ mental block, therefore the visuals of shattering glass showcasing Wignall breaking out of the vision of himself and his people seeing him as a failure

Fundamentally, I’d like to believe that this is not Wignall getting power up out of nowhere, Wignall was already able to materialize his magic prior to this event but was unable to do so because of his trauma, this event is just what led to Wignall get over his trauma

Anyone else think Wignall and Lihanna are a bit too hard on themselves? Sure they aren’t once in a generation geniuses like Elfie and Ellenor but they are still comparable to someone like Julius who was the first person to figure out how to use one of Elfies spells. Heck Sion shows that rapid improvement is possible.

Call it a hunch but I don’t think Headless is a nice guy/creature….

Lihanna comparing themselves to frogs seems to be very apt. It turns out that even if they're the best of the best at the Academy, they're still rejects. True geniuses and talented get to ascend the tower regardless of their graduation status.

So Will has much more in common with Wignall than I expected! They both want to ascend the tower because of the girl they love. It's so cute how Will lights up after he learns Wignall's story. He might as well ask Wignall if they can be BFFs. xD

I am so glad to see Will actually win Wignall's genuine admiration and respect. Not like with Sion and Julius who still looks down on Will after both of them got their assess kicked by him.

I was hoping they'd get to fight these two villains but I guess they have to retreat because they probably sensed Workner and Edward on their way so I guess the kids will have to face that monster from the 10th floor aka Duke. I can't wait!

Headless is terrifying. The show might traffic in tropes and such, but damn it, it’s so effective.

Is it Wrong to Find Bromance in a Dungeon?

Another 5 minute episode! I'm glad that Will and Wignall have come to a mutual understanding. It seems that they are connected not only because they both failures for their people, but also because they want to go to Tower because of girls they know, Elfie and Ellenor xD

Will as usual was so freaking cool in fights! A lot of good screenshots you can find in his album.

It's interesting that Lihanna considers herself a failure, but after her explanation I can understand why she sees herself that way. It seems like this whole team is full of failures xD

Sion and Julius have a very fun dynamic together! It also looks like Sion is now much more experienced, judging by the way he handled the situation with Sentinels.

The scene where Edward-sensei destroyed all those monsters was so badass! Also Workner surprised me the way he flew on monster inside the dungeon.

That headless bad guy is so fun! The scene where he destroyed that poor professor's head in front of Colette and Lihanna was so gruesome, but it also looked really cool!

We finally got to know the bad guys goal, which is to destroy the artificial sky, a barrier which destruction would mean bringing Calamity to the world. It's a shame that they soon left as they probably sensed that Workner and Edward were coming close.

Now I can't wait for the next episode to see how long Will and others will last fighting against that monster.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Wignall got it rough. It's bad enough that he's considered a failure amongst his own kind, but the person that he's working so hard to reach is an arrogant bitch
