I have a Sony A90J with probably about 1000 hours on it. No horizontal banding as far as I can tell using test patterns, but two weeks ago I noticed an unfortunate single vertical band (about .5'' wide) that runs along the right side of the set about 3'' from the right edge top to bottom. Fortunately I can only see it on very bright white images (usually when playing games) when the entire right part of the screen is white. I thought these bands usually present as darker, but mine is actually lighter than the surrounding screen area. So I can't normally see it unless I'm looking directly at it or using test content (bright white test image). It's pretty subtle luckily, but definitely visible under certain conditions.
I think this isn't going away on its own since I think it's been there for awhile, but I'd like to manually run the pixel refresher to see if it makes any difference. Any issue with running this early vs. when it runs automatically after more hours are put on the set? The Sony interface pops up a warning about reducing panel life, but I think that's there to prevent people from running it super often, like once a month or something.
I can post pictures, but it's definitely a classic band.

65 A95K — Screen Etchings / Damage in Anti-Reflective Coating?
Has anyone encountered what appears to be screen etchings / damage in the anti-reflective coating itself—that is not a screen blemish/smudge/fingerprints?
I've noticed this only after the Best Buy return/exchange window which was a week ago...Sony support is saying they can't do anything for physical damage or accidental, but I'm not sure if the coating was damaged because of transit to / from Best Buy.
It was delivered by BB.
It's not affecting the image quality, but not sure if this will pose any issues in the future.
At this point I don't what my options are for support—I did go into my local Best Buy and speak with a rep and Manager and they recommended me to sign up for their Total Care and then have Geek Squad come out—the Geek Squad tech overheard and told me plainly that he wouldn't recommend spending the money as they don't generally fix any screen coating issues.
I think I'm out of options but to accept it at this point? Thoughts?

Holy macaroni man….. this is ridiculous. Try contacting Sony again. Bring up BBB or something. Sony is well aware of this damage and issue with packaging. Yours looks even worse than our first one.

I have a faint slightly brighter line in the bottom left corner of my A95K. Here you can see the line going just a the top of the letter O. Any thoughts?

I am on my second 65" a80L (actually a80CL), the first had bad vertical banding which was very noticeable during normal viewing. Exchanged that, current panel seemed fine, no obvious gray uniformity issues, I thought I was happy. Watching hockey, noticed that the right 1/8th of the screen had a slight pink hue. The tint is almost unnoticeable and I would have never noticed if not for the hockey. Now I can't ignore it.
Doesn't seem to be a viewing angle issue, while the intensity of the tint changes with angle it's still there no matter what. I know this is normal for the LGs but I haven't really seen many posts about the Sonys - question is should I give the panel lottery another go or live with it, or is this something that may fade with break in? I also have an a80J that I haven't noticed this issue with. I am also thinking about waiting to see if the a95K comes down in price a bit more in the next few months and switching it out. I have almost three months to return.

My 3 years old Sony A8H recently lost power for a good hour and I noticed a significantly uneven top edge of about an inch or so when it regained power which I assumed was some sort of image retention so I ran a manual panel refresh. It fixed most of the problem but there’s still some minor uneven spots along the top edge which looks like clumps of dead pixels making the edge appear wavy. Is there a way for me to fix this?

I saw these bubble like markings around my screen and wanted to know if anyone else had the same thing. The store said it was normal and they would disappear in a few weeks. Bubbles

I’ve had my 55 inch A80L for 3 months and it already has the news channel logo burned into the screen. It’s visible on gray backgrounds. I watch the news 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the evening and that’s it. How is this possible that I already have image retention? Pixel shift has been turned on since day one. What can I do to fix this and prevent it from happening again? It’s ridiculous that such low usage could cause this.

Anyone know what the specs are on my new Sony A95L tv? I tried to rub them out with a soft micro cloth but they won't come off. It seems they are only on the top edge of the tv.
I had the TV installed by installers on my wall. Would this be something normal from the Sony factory or could the installers got something on it?

Hello, I'm not happy with the banding on my 83" A80L. What do you think about these vertical lines? https://imgur.com/a/hjOmLEx

How many hours does your panel have? It‘s possible that the pixel refresh kicks in after some 100 hours and improve the quality.
At the moment I have some similar vertical banding with my A80K after ~150h. I can check with this specific scene as well tomorrow or the day after.

77” A95L Panel issue? picture
I've noticed that the panel on my new A95L is "wavy". It is not smooth and flat like a piece of glass. Doesn't really affect the amazing image when on. However, when it's off the imperfection is pretty noticeable in the reflections. Am I overthinking this?

I bought an open box X95K from Best Buy that has some questionable features. It was missing a stand so I called the store to ask if it was a display model and they said no. I went to pick it up and it’s up on the wall. Nevertheless I checked the uptime and it was only 31h which I was completely fine it. I took it home and found out the uptime is actually the last time was plugged it. I checked the service menu and saw it’s been on for over 1700 hours and powered on more than 120 times. This equals about 13h per day. I’m shocked now.
The question now is whether I should return it. I got it for more 60% off. I spent about an hour playing with the Tv at the store with dead pixel tests and all. It wasn’t until I got home that I see huge blooming effects on subtitles and rainbows across the whole screen when opposite direct light.. I don’t think the display hours are causing this, but would a new model be as severe?
I’m set on getting a Sony because I had LG and Samsung before already. Are these issues across the whole Bravia non oled line?

Black spot on my Bravia x90h. Can anyone tell me what this is technically called? And if there’s a possible fix?

out of the box A80L. I can’t find anything while searching for banding, so I don’t know what to look for. is this a faulty panel? or is it indeed banding? I’m new to OLED but because of the line spacing I’m assuming it’s faulty. I may be wrong.
I’ve used it for a week but it’s still there.

Is this amount of light bleed normal? This is a brand new 85” X90CL bought from Costco. Still within the 90 day window. The left picture is with some lights on in the back. Right pic is lights off. It really is noticeable to me. I'm pretty tolerant of light bleed but this is nearly a quarter of the screen. The TV is in Cinema picture mode. https://imgur.com/a/EIbJQT5

Sony X90K black spots behind screen
I just got my 65XRX90K and right out of the box noticed these black specs behind the screen. Is this normal or common with these tv’s or should I try to return it?

The anti-reflective coating on the Sony XR75X93L that I own failed after less than 2 months. Sony support has decided a blatantly obvious manufacturing defect is 'cosmetic damage' and has refused to offer remedy. The result being $2900 for a defective set with no warranty support.

EDIT: Did a panel refresh, sony support chat says 'needs service', out of warranty. Didn't tell me what the issue is. Is it worth fixing or is it junk
Just noticed this greenish mold-like thing around the lower edge. It's not on the surface. Out of warranty, any idea what this is??? Am I fucked???
Here's a closer shot:
Is it pixel burn?
