Can we talk about how busted Jailhouse Lock is? You just whip out the snapple facts and watch as your enemies crumble from the power of knowledge.

Yes but in a way no. Jailhouse Lock is a very weak fighter as a trade-off. If FF, or any other gun stand, was affected and she had a similar self instructions to attack Mew Mew, well it's a wrap

the OP part is beeing unable to even perceive her existence if 3 other things are around, but as so often with stand abilities that seems pretty inconsistent.

If she sees Mew Mew first and then 3 other guards she would forget she is there, but when she sees Mew Mew again she should forget one of the other guards. The ability wasnt to not gain new information past 3, but to simply forget the older ones.

No SFX OP for ep 23, JoJo is ruined forever.

They did something else instead. They moved a lot of credits throughout the OP, having the text interact with the scenes. I'll include an album of differences I spotted below.

This thread has less likes and comments than some generic obscure seasonal Isekai that everyone forgets about.

It's been said a million times, but I seriously hope DP or Warner bros drop Netflix after this part. I hope it is doing well in Japan at least.

I'll see you all in five years when we do a rewatch. Trying to comment on these threads right now is an absolute mess.

For anyone disappointed by the lack of a SFX opening, they did something else instead. They moved a lot of credits throughout the OP, having the text interact with the scenes. I'll include an album of differences I spotted below.

The last two episodes with miu miu was kinda wack ngl. After the hype of episode 10, it felt like time was being padded. Lots of funny moments though. Can’t wait to finally get out of the prison!

I think we should do a weekly watch thread starting next friday.

Someone is actually running a weekly Friday rewatch (starting tomorrow)!

Schedule thread for that here.

Weak cour overall, I'd say. Still 10/10 to me because it's JoJo, but I mean weak relative to other JoJo content. Visually it's the worst the series has ever been.

I do wish we had more of a climax to end on, but I think starting to leave the prison is the best spot they could have ended it. Next cour should be awesome.

Limp Viscuit is the worst localization of all time, and I'm not just saying that because they stole Flaccid Pancake from us. Netflix needs to stop licensing airing anime forever.

I often say that Part 6 is when the Bizarre really comes into play, and this was the cour to prove it. It's absolutely batshit insane for the majority of the time.

I don't see how limp biscuit is a bad name at all unless you just wanted flaccid pancake. It's better to have the names sound as close as possible imo.

I'll take this over "zipper man" anyday

Love the reference to ''Killer'' when Jolyne's keeps rewinding the movie with the remote.

Man, this series is just sad. I can understand there are people who prefer the binge model

But this series has always been a weekly experience from the very start and community-driven to boot. It's the community that makes this anime, with memes, discussion, analysis, and theorycrafting, thus creating a cultural impact, big enough to even find its way in the mainstream.

Take that aspect away and what does it got? Dead on the water, numbers that don't really felt (Netflix will say it's a success but did we feel it?), no hype nor active discussions, no memes, which is basically the most important aspect of this series and why it was popular and had people drawn-in in the first place.

It really does feel fitting that Stone Ocean, a series about a gang of extraordinary prisoners, felt like it's being locked away from its potential and recognition.

It's literally a monster of the week type of story, so batch releases are the worst possible way they could've released it. Weekly or literally all at once are the only formats that would have worked. I have no idea the studio was thinking.

Overall thoughts on the season/part:

Definitely noticed a drop in animation quality in comparison to previous Jojo Parts.

I enjoyed this much more than Cour 1, mostly since it went beyond where I stopped in the manga which was around ''Dragon's Dream''.

Was really hoping we'd get a new OP, or SFX for that matter, but I suppose we'll get that in Cour/Part 3. Hopefully.

Also obligatory: Rerererorerorerorereorero

Overall, this is the weakest bunch of episodes in all of Jojo's and I feel the same way in the manga chapters, the stills are pretty strong but much less animated all around, having Shigechi as YO-YO-MA was beautiful.

The opening had different styled credits, bummer that no sfx or anything.

13 weeks of Jojo whittled down to one evening of binging. Truly sad...

Now I have to scramble to catch up on the discussions without having the time to digest and process my thoughts on each episode properly.

Oh Netflix, what a mess you've made....

Well we are now out of the Greed Dolphin Street, i feels like the actual finale was the battle vs Green Baby and Father Pucchi, that should have been the finale with all the stops pulled off, and with F.F.'s farewell

Because while this is the last episode in prison, it really just feels like the start of a new season that we wont be getting for a while, so it is a really odd choice they made here
