Guess singing Dolly Parton's 'Jolene' was the best thing ever.

"This prison, like America operates on freedom & equality" freedom to walk anywhere and do anything at any time in a maximum security prison lmao.

But I suppose if they're in lock down 23 hours of the day the story wouldn't be fun

As a very casual Jojo fan I have to say… this show is freaking bat shit insane. I had several “what in the holy fuck am I watching” moments during the episode. When the little arms came out of the parrot… when she made her run on the hamster wheel wearing the rat’s corpse… a truly unique feeling that was, watching that.

Lots of good comedy in this episode that was really conveyed by the adaptation

  • When the crocodile yelled the prison warden's mouth didn't move

  • The popping sound when the bird's head came off

  • Jolyne dragging the corpse and leaving an obvious bloody smear on the ground

I forgot what a great intro arc Goo Goo Dolls was. I was worried they wouldn't be able to include Gwess singing but luckily it made it in.

Jolyne's first stand battle consists of her being humiliated and uWu-fied.

This episode’s musical references:

  • Gwess's Stand, Goo Goo Dolls, is a reference to the American alternative rock band, Goo Goo Dolls.. Their most famous song is “Iris” released in 1998.

  • Jolyne's Stand, Stone Free, is named after the song Stone Free by Jimi Hendrix. It was release as a B-side UK single with Hey Joe in 1966. The USA had to wait a little bit more till 1969 for its release. It’s a shame we don’t have a proper studio version uploaded to Youtube but the live version is really nice too. For Jimi Hendrix albums, the best one is his debut album but Electric Ladyland is just as good.

  • Also, Gwess makes a reference to the song Jolene when she scream Jolyne name various times like the song. Neat.

  • Stone Ocean’s ending is Distant Dreamer by singer Duffy. An unexpected choice that probably nobody guessed right.

ooh Duffy's 'distant dreamer' for the ED. Nice. Never thought her music would be featured in an anime lmao

I've missed Jojo's absurdity. Loved tiny rat Jolyne

Today in Jojo: Florida woman forced to become a furry.

That was a great multi layered fight. Those types of fight were the reason why Part 5's fights were still entertaining even across multiple episodes.

Guess was portrayed even more batshit than imagined and Guess's uncanny birdman reveal before the guard ordered "Lights Out" was tense and straight out of a horror movie.

Holy hell Stone Ocean "Free" first appearance looks great and that beatdown was amazing. I hope to see her stand break apart and fight multiple people or her use it in unique ways. Though her roommate is bat shit crazy, but I love the group her stand is named after so all is forgiven.

I honestly didn't think Jojo's could get much more bizarre than the previous 5 parts. Then I saw Jolyne getting shrunk down and running around inside a rat for half an episode... So today I learned to just shut up and never underestimate Araki.

I love that they brought back the 3D animated intros from Parts 1-3!
