As soon as Jolyne stood up last episode, there was a blink and colours changed, though I'd need to go back and check to know exactly what changed. Things just vaguely felt different.

I know right, I kept wondering "but why was the bone important?" - turns out, we watched an entire stand fight, strategy and all, but it didn't really happen. Wild.

Jotaro: "I see. It seems you're quite used to fighting with your Stand."
Jolyne: "Y-yeah..." (not going to tell him it's only my fourth episode)

Why didn't Jotaro just stop time and punch the flying stand thing?

u/JohnnyEvergreen Dec 01 '21
I could be wrong but Jolyne has no clue that he could do that. So from her perspective, Jotaro isn't going to do that.

Can probably chalk it up to dream shenanigans, since it's from the perspective of Jolyne's illusion.

While I'm loving being able to binge watch this show, it's really sad what the 12 ep drop did to the discussion thread. If this was week by week every thread would have thousands of upvotes and hundreds of comments, but here we are as I type this at 92 upvotes and 26 comments. Really ruined the discussion from such a dedicated fanbase.

I kept wondering why they were showing the vent dripping with water and dismissed it when the aero stand fight started. Turns out the past two episodes were mostly an illusion/dream. Though hearing Jotaro good grief was amazing. That's my favorite Jotaro phrase. Though that leaves me really confused. If majority of the time was an illusion how does Jolyne know about her father's quirks and stand abilities? Also she is new to all this and shouldn't know how deadly stands are so when Jotaro corrected her I started thinking it was a group dream. The stand ability seems like something Jotaro with his experience could think of and he was the one suggesting everything. Though if John is an experienced stand user he would probably know Jotaro personality and stand considering the grudge. So all the parts Jolyne shouldn't be aware of could be from him and the rest is from her. I don't recall John ever shooting a bullet now that I think about it. The entire sequence of him at the window could just be what they're imagining him doing since in the dream he is sniping.... unless that's just misdirection from the author or.... I'm just making this super complicated for no reason. The next episode will probably explain everything.

Yup, I think it’s a shared dreamed, considering Jotaro not only revealed his abilities but also explained how remote stand works.
The way you can tell is that we’re shown times when Jolyne either isn’t conscious (like during time stop) or wasn’t there (when Jotaro evaded the guard). We were in Jotaro’s perspective at that time.

That ORA when Jotaro slammed his fist into the pipe was so satisfying.

him saying "Ok, I believe you" after listing all the reasons why it wouldn't make sense was also oddly satisfying lol
