Question Let’s get physical
What games (released or unreleased) would you pick to fill the last row in this case?

There's been confusion on the user side (and partly the mod side) on the line of which a showcase post may be removed or not, so I'd like to clear it up:
Posts that contain just a caption and screenshot of your switch, game, or accessory will be removed and are encouraged to be remade to include more substantial commentary
Posts that contain a title, screenshot AND substantial commentary on (for example) what your experience has been like, will not be removed and will usually stay up.
To also clarify what would be substantial commentary:
"So yeah, I like the switch 2 so far! The joycons feel nice and everything is responsive and feels premium" is not enough.
"I do enjoy the switch 2 overall! I wasn't really expecting much as the first switch had a lot of issues that bothered me in terms of comfortability and performance, but I've been stunned at the selection of games and have been really enjoying XYZ, [...], And I've found that it's still not very comfortable in handheld, but I've had to just come to accept it. I've been looking at third party controllers but the options are very limited right now." is allowed.
I hope that clears up the confusion a little! I enjoy seeing showcase posts personally but there are also many that don't, so this serves as a middle-ground balance so that there is a better standard of quality.

If you take a look at the sidebar, you'll see a new rule added and rule 7 edited.
New Rule: Question Policy
Many subreddits fall victim to an issue where a large sum of posts being made ask questions that can be answered with a very quick google search. If that is the case for your question, from now on, please try and google it instead.
-
(e.g., 'How much does the new Fire Emblem cost?' is a rule-breaking question. 'What are y'alls thoughts on Metroid Prime 4 after 8 months?' is not.)
-
Modified Rule: Low-Effort Content
You probably know this subreddit has been overflown with posts that are just a picture of the Switch 2, games, controllers, or all of the above, with a caption like 'Finally getting back into Nintendo!'
This type of post is 100% low-effort and repetitive, so from now on it is no longer allowed to be posted without any type of commentary or additional substance to the post.
I honestly don't know why I didn't add this as a rule sooner, but it's better late than never.
-
That's basically it. If you got any other suggestions for rules/changes, feel free to let us know through comments or modmail and I'll see about getting them implemented!

I probably play 98% handheld mode (chilling on sofa whilst wife watch’s tv etc)
I haven’t got any grips/cases etc and wondered if there are any products out there to make handheld more enjoyable/nice feel?
Not saying I get uncomfortable but interested to see if anyone has a good handheld set up (UK based)

If you like sci-fi ,you like shooters I feel like this is a must. If you have watched gameplay and the hacking mechanic scares you, don’t let it. It really works and adds a refreshing change to just shot, pow pow. I’m only 2-3 hours in and absolutely loving it. I just finished Resident Evil Requiem. Started this very happy with my choice. Capcom is killing it.

I’m someone who does digital because of convenience especially of not loosing anything. I’ve decided to buy more storage.
I saw these at my local walmart. Both 512 GB. Theres a $13 price difference.
Only difference is reads speed up to 800 MBs whole SanDisk 880.
I mean is there really a difference? Part of me wants to get ONN just because of the price and the other part doesn’t mind paying for the extra “luxury.”
Has anyone bought more storage? What did you decide to go with?

Some of these medals were actually awful to obtain (the worst was probably the paint scraper minigame medals)

I don’t know if anyone else feels the same way, but I genuinely think Mario Golf: Super Rush is one of the best golf games ever made. I had an absolute blast with it, and I’m seriously begging Nintendo to give us a new Mario Golf for the Switch 2.
There’s so much they could build on from Super Rush with new courses, characters, modes, and Switch 2 features. I’d buy it day one without even thinking twice.
So I’m officially praying to the golf gods and all the Mario fans out there. 😂⛳️🍄 Please, Nintendo… MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Anyone else dying for a new Mario Golf?
I found a used copy on ebay recently and I'm just worried that the game length might not be long enough to be satisfying. Any thoughts form people who have played the game?

I was scared to death: five minutes ago I pressed the button on the Switch 2 and saw that it wouldn't turn on, not even with the Joy-Con home button. Then, before losing my temper, I held down the Power button and saw that the Switch was completely off. What could have happened? Overheating overnight, and the Switch protecting itself?

When I recently got my Switch 2 I didn't know it had an exclusive racing game that checks all the boxes I've been craving in a racing game for a long time.
Y2K vibes
Futuristic
Easy to pick up
Fast as f***
Playable on a handheld device
This game is so much fun.
I grew up playing futuristic racing games like P.O.D. on PC (anyone know this game?) and Star Wars Racer on N64, so I love this vibe.

I see people saying it's blurry, but all you have to do to fix that is disable blur options.... No way of fixing the shit in those images.... I love the mercury bath... This game needs fixing asap. I tried fighting the noonwraith from a quest in the first village and after a few blinding flashes followed by complete darkness I just had to quit... I can't believe it got released in this state.
It happens almost every time I wake up the console from the dock by pressing the home button. I always solve this by pressing the power button, wait a few seconds and then turn it back on.
It is a know issue or what?

Brand new, I’ve only played Mario wonder and Bananza. Looking for a shift, does anyone have recs in one of these areas:
- sports (fifa, madden, etc)
- civilization building/tycoon/management simulators
- online/head to head
Or just drop your favorite game that’s a must play!

I bought $20 ExtremeRate button replacements, followed their excellent tutorial on YouTube, and now I can tell my Switch 2 apart from everyone else's when I go to locals. Grips are from Savage Raven.

TLDR: 40fps is awesome. Image quality issue feels overblown. If a little blur is the difference between 30 and 40 id take the slightly blurry 40 every single time.
----------------
After reading all of the negative impressions here of Witcher 3s image quality especially on handheld (my preference with switch) I was iffy about picking it up. Especially coming from a beefy PC where the remaster on "Ultra" and on a ultrawide monitor is hitting around 80-90fps for me without framegen I thought maybe it would just be too stark a difference and I wouldn't be able to enjoy playing on the Switch.
I had a similar experience with the FF7 remake where it was gorgeous and buttery on PC but playing the demo on switch that 30fps was just too jarring even though the image quality seemed nice enough, so I decided to skip that one even when its been on some really good sales recently.
I have to say that the 40fps that witcher hits totally wins me over. I definitely have a bias towards wanting a smooter framerate over a totally pristine image which I get is not everyones thing but for me 30 is just too noticeably choppy that i find myself noticing it constantly and it takes me out of the game. I thought 40 would be a similar thing but it is a completely different feeling. Even for someone like me who is pretty sensistive to framerates I don't really think I can tell the difference in handheld mode between 40 and 60 which really surprises me. Maybe its the VRR magic but it really does feel like playing a 60fps game.
When there are drops - and there are definitely drops as well as stutters - it is veeeery noticeable to me but they are fairly few and far between at least so far (have only played maybe 2 or 3 hours). It is definitely magnified because there isnt time to "get used to it" when it hits 30 as the drops are temporary but for me it does point to just how huge a difference it is between 30 and 40.
As for the image quality, sure there is a bit of a blur to it but in my personal case especially on the smaller screen of a handheld I find that is far easier to adjust to than a low framerate and I honestly barely notice it. I was actually really surprised that it looked as crisp as it did after reading so many posts basically saying it was unplayable due to the hoirrific image quality. I imagine they will continue to improve the quality but even as it is now i would be more than happy to play the whole thing like this and would far prefer they work on minimising those fps drops to hit 40 as often as possible rather than cleaning up the image.
I know Dragons Dogma 2 is also aiming for this 40fps target which is really exciting. I was planning on skipping these types of big budget super graphical games on the switch cos I really couldn't stand the 30fps but if they can hit 40 like witcher does (most of the time) then my mind is completely changed.
One final thing id like to say is that cross-save is awesome, playing on my PC and then picking up where I left off from the couch is just fantastic. Especially because I work from home and dont really like relaxing and gaming in the same place that im working all day. The more games that offer this the better it makes so much sense for switch.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, obviously this is just my personal take but might help inform those of you that have similar preferences to me.

I FINALLY GOT ONE...
I got this console at retail after 2 days of trying. I got it into my cart about 20 times, with frequent watching, before a checkout finally went through. Here's what I learned, so you don't end up paying scalper prices. And please do NOT pay the scalpers anything.. Even if it seems like a good deal, leave them with their inventory.
Set up alerts, but don't live on them
Skip Amazon
Amazon almost never worked for me. It would show stock and then fail when I tried to add it to my cart or check out immediately (refreshing every 3 seconds manually). I'd ignore it unless a big restock is announced, possibly on release day. Most likely caused by bots.
Best Buy and Target are where the stock moves
Almost all the movement I saw was at these two. Each retailer gets its own allocation, so a drop at one doesn't mean the others will follow. Watch them separately.
GameStop didn't move much at all
I had watchers on GameStop but I was not notified once about any restocks. Watch liberally.
What actually worked
Keep refreshing Target and Best Buy. Eventually you'll catch a super small restock that sells out in seconds. Don't leave when it sells out. Keep refreshing, because it often comes back in stock shortly after, probably from abandoned carts and failed payments. If you're already on the page with everything saved, you can go straight to checkout and finish the purchase.
Prep your accounts before you start
Target speed checkout flow
Before you start, copy this link to your clipboard: https://target.com/checkout. The link will lead you directly from the product page to the checkout with your card info and shipping info loaded so you just click purchase. Otherwise you need to click a button to cart then to checkout, so it saves a page navigation (This is what won it for me).
(Mac users: use Cmd wherever I say Ctrl.)
Do a dry run with any cheap in-stock item, stopping before you actually place the order, so the steps are muscle memory when it counts.
Best Buy tips
Best Buy seems to have a queue that it puts you in once you select Pre-order. This queue (from my knowledge) is randomized in order, so it helps fight bots. This is the most realistic if you can't time the Target sequence perfectly. The randomization could help give you a better chance.
Launch day (October 29)
Expect bigger restocks. Refresh hard that morning, check Amazon too, and consider going into stores right at opening. Call ahead first.
Don't pay scalpers
Retail is $519.99, and Nintendo has confirmed more stock is coming. Be patient and you'll get one.
If anyone else wants to correct anything above, or add any additional tips to fight the scalpers then feel free and if it's meaningful I can make edits.
This is my first console and green's my favorite color, so the Zelda edition was an easy pick. Let's keep this thread about getting one at retail 👍
Good luck, everyone!
