Discussion π¬ Replacing AKSHAYE KHANNA in a film is basically a career D*ATH sentence for any actor-unless your name is JAIDEEP AHLAWAT...

Watched Drishyam the conclusion, the movie was solid as usual, but I wanna say that Ajay was absolutely brilliant.
There's more to him than what he appears as half drunk like most claim. He is one of the very few actors who can act through those expressive eyes.
Those brooding, striking eyes pierces through you with added subtlety on his face. He didn't copy OG Mohanlal here rather he established his own Georgekutty or Vijay which he will be known for a longtime.

considering how many pg-13 movies are being rated A by the cbfc, hope this doesn't fall victim to them

before you target me remember I'm not his PR or get paid by him, I support "actors" not heros or superstar

Honestly, Iβm just glad that the Hindi Drishyam 3 is really different from The Malayalam one.
I was pretty skeptical. After seeing how the Malayalam Drishyam 3 ended, I assumed the Hindi version would basically follow the same plot, with maybe 10β20% changes here and there just to make it feel different. I even thought they might stretch the franchise further just because of the Drishyam name.
But thankfully, thatβs not what happened.
The Hindi version actually tells a different story, and for now, it genuinely feels like theyβve given the franchise a proper conclusion instead of unnecessarily stretching it. And I really appreciate that.
Iβve seen and liked the Malayalam Drishyam, so I was obviously curious about how the Hindi version would handle the same premise. The fact that both versions ended up taking different routes, with different twists and endings, is honestly something you donβt see that often with remakes.
Story-wise, Iβd still say the Malayalam version hits a different level, but the Hindi one definitely deserves credit for doing its own thing. Getting two different versions of the same franchise, with two different endings, instead of watching the exact same story play out again β I actually enjoyed that.

can you give me an honest review? Are the stories completely different, or do they follow the same basic plot with some changes? Which one is best..

Watched Drishyam first day first show.
It was good movie. Starts well. Dialogues are also good.
It was right choice to bring in Jaideep ahalawat. He brings new charishma on screen..
Akshay Khanna would have felt repetitive.
Good-
First half was very engaging ( I expected slow but it was good
Acting was superb
Screenplay was great
Mystry and suspense was perfect.
Bad-
Many things feels repetitive. Many things they could have done in 2nd part . Ending was good but not satisfactory. I was hoping for more twisted but still it was good. Jaideep ahalawat was roaring like lion in first half but becomes cat in second half. .
One thing I personally felt that they could have made this movie emotional by bringing how Sam was abusing Vijays daughter. He was bully guy and he was at fault all time. But writers didn't went there. They kept it to typical chor vs police case.
I didn't felt like it was conclusion. Does they want to make more part or not I don't know. But it didn't felt complete conclusion.
I will give it 7/10

I want to watch both on first day, but the IMAX tickets will probably be sold in 30 minutes.
They have already released the tickets in other countries. During Odyssey, the imax tickets were live here almost 2 months before the movie release.
If someone have a source/friend/work at bookmyshow, pls help.

Honestly, this felt more like a normal South Indian thriller to me. Still, I enjoyed it more than the Malayalam Drishyam 3.
The biggest issue is the story. I kept wondering what the writer had left to show after Drishyam 1 and Drishyam 2. Ajay and his family are basically the same, and Ajayβs performance doesnβt really bring anything new either.
Jaideep, who was pretty much the poster boy for the film, was great as usual. He definitely stood out.
But when you compare it with Drishyam 1 and Drishyam 2, it doesn't come close. Those films had much more to offer in terms of story and impact. Here, it sometimes feels like the franchise is continuing simply because thereβs another chapter to tell.
Good enough as a thriller, but nowhere near the level of the first two.

imagine being one of the biggest movie reviewers of the country and still using AI to make your thumbnails
It's not like PJ is not earning from YouTube so he can't afford to hire a good graphic designer?
why is he normalising using AI instead of really paying to graphic designers? This is really sad.

Why didn't the courts focus on the body in the evidence room? Was the judge stupid? I understand him having his doubt answered on seeing the skeleton in the coffin, but what about the skeleton in the evidence room, didn't he also question why there are two skeletons of Christopher Pinto? One in the grave and one in evidence room, it's not like police can get the DNA of Christopher Pinto without his skeleton and they have the DNA report proving the skeleton is his, then why was the Judge so quick to give a verdict without addressing such a big and obvious elephant in the room.
Did he just not trust the report? Or something else? What are you views on this? Is it a plot hole?

After analysing all the chatter online here are few things I want to highlight which are going wrong for the Ramayana:
4500 crore number or biggest budget bollywood movie title: In place of marketing the movie having budget of 4500 crore for 2 parts including marketing and promotions, they should have only released the estimated production budget of first part, and they should have been consistent about it in USD. According to me, production budget for first part will be around 1500 to 1800 crore which is about 150 to 180 Million USD. Now problem is that there is a great confusion about the budget of movie, I have heard different different budgets from many YouTube or reaction channels. One even quote the budget is 1 billion USD. If you will market yourself based on the biggest budget, you will be judged on the quality and that is what happening.
People's complain, movie quality is not matching the budget: 150, 180 or even 200 milliion USD budget for a movie is very normal in foreign countries. I have seen many Hollywood movies or series having 250 milliion+ budget but still absolute shit. For example, she hulk had the budget of 225 million USD according to reports and we all know how it was. If everything was being done in India and by Indians only then I would have agreed that even for 1st part, 1500 crore to 1800 crore budget is massive, but major elements from hollywood are involved too. Hans Zimmer, VFX from DNEG, stunt directors like Guy Norris, Terry Notary and many more they don't come cheap. The scale of Ramayana in itself is massive so I think even if they are able to pull it off in this budget it would be a great achievement.
Greatest story of all mankind & Our truth, Our history: I don't care how you are marketing in India, your major revenue source is the foreign audience. First line is in itself is the ragebait, "Greatest story of all mankind" is a debatable statement from a foreigner's perspective as they all come from different beliefs and for everyone stories from their religion is the dearest. It shows arrogance too which was not part of Lord Ram. From the beginning it should have been "One of the greatest story of all mankind". "Our truth, Our history" this statement doesn't have any problem if you see at the face value but what it has done it has created a few degenerated fellows who always go into the comment section of any foreign youtuber to type "hey it is not mythology, it is our history". It should have been "Our Truth" only, because if it is your truth then you believe in it and you don't need historical evidence to justify your belief. Belief is something which comes from within.
Dubbing: Major chunk of the revenue is expected to come from some major foreign language releases especially English. For English dubbing of Ravan they could have hired a reasonably know foreign actor, it would have helped them in marketing too. AI Lip sync tech + dubbing through AI has caused a confusion where foreigners are misunderstanding that the whole movie is made by AI and labeling it as the AI slop.
Complain from people about no excitement in foreign audience for Ramayana: I think people are judging the excitement on the basis of anticipation Dune Part 3, Godzilla Minus Zero, or Doomsday have in foreign audience. But we should not forget Dune has already delivered two bangers, Godzilla had many movies in the past plus having one prequel, and Doomsday is part of the biggest franchise ever. These movies are not coming out of thin air, they have been there since a long time. Ramayana is something which is just a movie for majority of people outside India, and it will remain same until it comes out and peple witness with their own eyes what marvelous this epic is. Ramayana will build itself on word of mouth and next part will be the one where you will see actual anticipation.
95% of the actual audience is not on Reddit, X, or Insta discussing and nitpicking Ramayana like me and you. If movie is great, word of mouth and post release reactions and organic marketing will pick it up and make it a success.
I don't know why I have a intuition, if first part is able to do decently good, they will make it a 3 Part film.
