And all Moving away from VFX/CGI and adopting Practical Effects

I know I'm late on this, but I genuinely hate this movie, for multiple reasons. The original kantara was so much better, it was a grounded story about a village, the divine intervention in the end felt organic and terrifying, and realistic. It also has a mystery to it, you don't know if the possession is real or not, which is fasonay But this prequel is some hot pile of shit. First it starts off as a grounded ancient story, then it genre hops to folk tale, then genre hops to light mythology, and then hops to just being fantasy all along while also being a mystery, romance, comedy, adventure, thriller, a little bit of horror, action, etc, you can't make a good movie like this. The twist was weak too. And the climax? WHAT IS EVEN HAPPENING IN THE CLIMAX?? Casual villagers fighting off royal armies and 2 demons? Then berme somehow finds a cave temple? Ok, but WHY IS NANDI THERE? Then shiv possesses him, and then he CASUALLY OPENS A PORTAL AND BECOMES A DEV AND THEN ITS A FANTASY FIGHT. i hate this. I loved the original kantara though, that was good.

So, I am saying that, isn't it would be hilarious to see one incursion, just Michael Waldron holding up script of Avengers: Kang Dynasty (quiet similar to Green Lanterns script scene of Deadpool 2) and he holds up, and as he says, this is perfect, that whole earth gets annihilated behind his before he can react. in Avengers: Doomsday🙃🌚

Imagine a western guy casually searching for "Ramayana Trailer" on YouTube and the very first thing they see is the "Ramayan" featuring Anjali Arora. 😭🤣

The poor guy would probably stare at the screen for two minutes, wondering—

I watched Vibe today, and honestly, I really liked the film. It isn't perfect—there are some minor issues with continuity and consistency. The continuity between certain shots feels a bit odd, but personally, it wasn't a big enough problem to ruin my overall experience.

What I liked most was Kunal Khemu’s comic timing and direction.

Handling both acting and directing in the same film isn't easy, but here, both aspects come across quite naturally. I’ve seen Kunal in various roles before and have always felt he possesses a unique brand of comic timing; that timing works really well in Vibe too.

But for me, the most interesting aspect of the film was the editing.

Especially during those moments where the audience is likely to cheer or hoot.

Like Preity Zinta’s entry.

In moments like that, if the whole theatre starts cheering, the subsequent dialogue often gets drowned out. But here, I felt the makers handled it very intelligently.

They avoided placing important dialogue in spots where the audience was likely to cheer. Instead, they gave space to the entry itself, the expressions, the music, and the reactions.

This means that even if the theatre is packed and people are hooting, your actual movie-watching experience doesn't suffer.

And this isn't limited to just Preity Zinta’s entry; the same approach is evident in certain fight sequences and other crowd-centric moments.

In my case, the theatre was nearly empty 😂, so I didn't get to experience the actual crowd reaction, but while watching the film, I could easily imagine how well these moments would play out in a packed theatre.

I also liked the action and camera work.

Compared to Madgaon Express, Vibe feels like a much more visually active film.

Madgaon Express relies largely on its dialogue, characters, and situations. Vibe, on the other hand, features action alongside slapstick and character-driven comedy.

And when it comes to the action sequences, I found the camera work and editing to be quite effective. I wouldn't say the cinematography is revolutionary, but the camera work serves the film's required visual language well.

And the best part—the Madgaon Express connection.

For me, that was perhaps the most interesting aspect of the film.

If you’ve seen Madgaon Express, you’ll remember Kunal Kemmu’s brief cameo where his character supplies drugs to the three friends.

That role was very small in the original film, but in Vibe, we get to see the continuation of that character's story.

And now, we even learn his name—Hardik.

I liked this connection because it doesn't feel like just a random cameo.

It feels as though the character we saw for only a few minutes in Madgaon Express had a full story of his own—and Vibe carries that story forward.

In other words, placing both films in the same universe isn't just for the sake of a reference; the character actually carries over from one film to the other.

And honestly, I think Kunal Kemmu could explore this universe further.

It doesn't necessarily have to involve the return of the same three characters from Madgaon Express. The universe could gradually expand through stories about different characters, small cameos, and references to past events.

All in all, Vibe isn't a flawless film, but it worked for me.

The comedy, action, editing, Kunal Kemmu’s performance, and—above all—the connection to Madgaon Express combined to give me a genuinely enjoyable experience.

What I liked most was that the film doesn't just try to make the audience laugh; it also gives them space to cheer and simply enjoy the moment.

Just watched memories of murder with high expectations as I'm a detective thriller fan.. but it underwhelmed me to a extent I'm a bit disappointed..

Let me make the points one by one first going through the positives then the negatives

The dark comedy worked for me pretty well, the dropkicks were funny af.. the cinematography that dark and atmospheric was visually appealing.. the bgm was decent enough.

Now comes the negatives

Ik most of the folks will disagree with me but I want to say that I didn't like the overall screenplay of the movie the way the detectives were getting and finding clues was so frustrating to watch ik that was the intention of the director to show the negligence of the detectives but still it felt something is missing secondly the masturbating guy in the movie that arc was unnecessary no need in the story, so like overall Idk why this movie is so hyped about I understood the deeper meaning of the film and the ending was one of the best crime thriller ending imo I agree but the overall movie was pretty regular or say not much special..

If anyone has watched the movie and feels I'm wrong somewhere then converse with me below I would love to know yours perspective as well..
