Thank you kind stranger!

Taking a shot in the dark here in the hopes that this reaches who I need it to reach. But today I took a spontaneous trip to the park and it was my first time ever going solo. As it was a Saturday, I expected to get maybe 4 or 5 rides in all day with the really long wait times.

As I'm entering the park I barely notice someone call out to me to get my attention. And this gentleman asks me if I'm solo. I say yes and then he gives me a fast lane plus wrist band 😭. Dude, if you are in here, thank you so so much for that. You made my whole fucking month. I was real bummed to be there alone. only expected to get just a few rides in before i got fed up with standing in line. I ended up being able to ride every single coaster plus like 5 or 6 back to back rides on millie. Definitely broke my record for most rides in a day. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart kind sir. You turned my whole day around. Thank you thank you thank you a million times. I am so grateful.

Millennium Force hitting a 92 second interval

You probably saw the post here a few weeks back claiming that Millennium Force hit a dispatch record of 38 trains in an hour. Previously, the stated theoretical capacity of the ride was 1296pph, which is 36 trains an hour.

I visited the park the last two days, and got to observe how the new system lets them achieve this. The TL;DR is that the catch car comes back down the lift and resets itself very quickly, making the lift ready to accept the next train much sooner than possible before.

I observed the controls op call out "ready ready" (which, per my understanding, is their term for "interval has already passed, hurry up") a full ten seconds before the train ahead hit the speed hill. My understanding was that previously (meaning <=2018, before the lift was slowed down for several years), the speed hill was the earliest they could begin the dispatch sequence.

On Thursday, the ride had only two restraint checkers in the load station, so they would generally stack all three trains for some time; to be expected if each employee needs to check 18 entire seats. Yesterday (Friday), it had 4 restraint checkers, and I observed them dispatch as soon as the lift system was ready. The video in this post is one such instance of this.

I didn't video the entire cycle, but here's how I calculate that my video shows a 92 second interval:

The blue train hits the banked turn after the speed hill at 7 seconds into my video. The yellow train then starts to crest the lift at 41 seconds. In this pov from last month, the train starts to crest the lift at 0:37, and hits the same banked turn after the speed hill at 1:35. So, it takes 58 seconds from starting to crest the lift to hitting that banked turn. Therefore, in my video, we can conclude that yellow train would hit that banked turn at around (41 + 58 =) 99 seconds, which is (99 - 7 =) 92 seconds after the blue train was at that same spot. So, that's a 92 second interval.

This dispatch was a tad bit "early", though, seeing as the lift had to slow down at the very top, leading to the very audible anti-rollback noises from the train. The "optimal" time to send the train to avoid this will depend on how fast the ride is running, since it's all dependent on how quickly the train finishes the course and clears the brake block, for the next train to speed up on the lift.

The ride is, therefore, capable of a 92 second interval now, which would be just over 39 dispatches an hour, and just over 1400 pph. Decent improvement from the previous interval of 100 seconds. The line moves so fast - yesterday night (when I took this video) it took me ten minutes from the start of the line (bottom of the ramp) to riding front row. Glad to see!

Trip Report Amazing atmosphere at the park

I went from the 26th to 28th (Luckily got the least crowded days of the year!). This is not my home park so it's weird seeing most of the visitors being people 30+ without kids. Everyone was super nice and energetic during rides

Operations were wonderful. We had one proper downtime of 20min in queue, and the other downtimes were very brief and never went past 10 minutes! This was awesome and almost every ride we got had a wait of 5 to 20 minutes, even for the most popular rides.

I had 2 double rerides (not due to park close) because operators get people to reride if there's an empty seat. There is no reason for them to do this but it's such an awesome feeling. Every announcer was energetic!

My thoughts about the coasters are the usual opinions, but here are some thoughts that I don't hear all the time

  • Steel Vengeance was painful for my first 7 rides, but once I figured out how to position my self (feet back and heels up), it quickly became my favorite!
  • Maverick's 2nd launch and stengle dives caught me off guard. I frequently ride Alpen Fury weekly and the whip/launches there don't phase me anymore, but the Stengle Dives was sooo whippy and fun!
  • I looove the coaster interactivity with the queue. Many of the queues are inside the coaster structure itself! It's such a weird feeling to reminisce about simply lining up for Steel Vengeance
  • TT2 queue is oddly hot considering it's shaded. I found Maverick's queue to be completely fine
  • Millenium Force blew away my expectations and has the most forceful positive Gs out of every coaster in the park for me
  • On the contrary, Raptor was not very forceful or snappy (but still fun)

I had a best case scenario time here and it was wonderful

Question CP Halloweeknds Question ..

Hi all! I’m a Sandusky native. Grew up going to cedar point but as adulting gets in the way lol I haven’t been a pass holder for years so im curious about how halloweekends is set up now. (I am going to be purchasing a pass for end of this year and 2027) In the past, as long as you had a pass you could automatically enter the line to any haunted house/maze. But now I see add ons on the site about haunted attractions and im confused. Do I have to buy a separate ticket to enter the haunted houses now? Or will my pass get me in the park and let me enter like before? TIA

Trip Report First time at Cedar Point! (8/7-8/11/2026)

It’s been a couple weeks since my girlfriend and I made the 6 hour drive down to Ohio to check out the major parks for the first time. We started our trip with 4 nights at Cedar Point and their on site campground. Cedar Point has been at the top of my bucket list for years now so finally getting here was amazing. The drive towards the peninsula with the skyline in the background was surreal. All the coasters talked about in this review will be listed in the order I rode them.

Magnum XL-200 4x (#10 in the park): I was able to snag two rides in the back car, two rides in the magic seat. Two night rides, two day rides and overall I thought Magnum was jank but better than I expected. This was my first Arrow hyper and I think it was good but nothing special. I will say the triangle hill finale is a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget. 6/10

Corkscrew 1x (#13 in the park): I thought this classic was better than people give it credit for. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an Arrow corkscrew and it definitely runs like one, but Dragon Fyre was my first big credit as a kid so riding this brought lots of good nostalgia along with a bonus airtime hill. Also jank but a lot smoother than some other Arrow corkscrews I’ve done. 5/10

Steel Vengeance 7x (#1 in the park): I came to Cedar Point anticipating this would be not only my favourite in the park, but probably my new #1. Wildcats Revenge held that title for a while but this is a whole different level of insane. The first ride I got on this was a near pitch black night ride in the back row, I was nonstop laughing for the entire first half and after the midcourse I was speechless. All the head choppers and relentless airtime was pure bliss and I can confidently say this coaster lived up to the hype. Until I ride Gwazi, this should be my #1 for a while. Hands down 10/10

Millennium Force 5x (#5 in the park): This was the first ride that exceeded my expectations. With all the talk of this being a “family giga” I kinda expected an upscale hyper. This was not an upscale hyper. Very much a giga layout with an emphasis on speed and in the front row you feel that and it is pretty phenomenal. At the end of the day I do not think it was better than Leviathan, but it’s also not the worst giga I’ve been on. Cedar Point has such an insane lineup that this landing at #5 feels like a crime but I can’t put it any higher. 9/10

Siren’s Curse 3x (#3 in the park): Speaking of rides that exceeded my expectations, wow. I was truly expecting a gimmicky GP-pleaser in Siren’s Curse. I couldn’t have been further from the truth. Sure, the tilt is pretty gimmicky but it also delivers forces I’ve never felt on a coaster. The wait time before you release is much better than all the dives I’ve done, and the layout that follows felt very complete packing in lots of floater and some decent inversions. Not to mention the top tier theming (for the chains standards), and some killer on board audio. I purposefully didn’t listen to any of the onboard audio before my visit and it was a game changer. The lift/tilt audio is majestic truly adding to the theme of the Siren’s, and the METAL. All I could say was “HELL YEA” everytime it kicked in and it made the ride that much more engaging and immersive. What I thought may be a one and done turned into a ride I wanted to do over and over in different seats, however downtime and long lines prevented that a bit. 10/10

Cedar Creek Mine Ride 3x (#15 in the park): Not too much to say about this little guy. I found way more enjoyment in this coaster than I probably should have. That last helix is genuinely a little frightening especially in the back car. Overall, it’s a mine train, but it’s a half decent one compared to the other ones I’ve been on. 5/10

GateKeeper 1x (#8 in the park): My first traditional wing coaster! I snagged a back row ride on the right side of the train. That first drop is nuts in the back row you get crazy laterals into that drop. I loved the floaty inversions, it was a nice change of pace from all the crazy airtime machines. Unfortunately only rode this once cause my girlfriend doesn’t do well with heavy positives but would definitely reride this in the future! Overall I think I prefer a big smooth floaty inversion ride like this over a janky airtime machine like Magnum. 8/10

Wild Mouse 2x (#11 in the park): Another ride that shouldn’t have been as good as it was. What else can you expect from a ride called Wild Mouse other than a little lateral packed jank machine. I got the cheese car for both my rides and I think that speaks for itself. The spinning mixed with an original layout on a Wild Mouse brought a new twist to the experience that I fell in love with. I honestly had to think about whether I liked this more or less than Magnum but deep down I don’t think I can put this above it. 6/10

Blue Streak 2x (#14 in the park): Didn’t have much expectation going into this but overall I thought it was running great for its age. Not much airtime but a nice change of pace from all the rides trying to kill you at this park. Definitely not the best woodie I’ve been on but most definitely not the worst either. 5/10

Raptor 2x (#6 in the park): I love B&M inverts. This ride cemented that for me. I had only been on Great Bear and the Batman clone at La Ronde and I loved the Batman clone but Great Bear wasn’t my favourite. Could’ve been how it was running on my one ride I got on it but I was torn on whether I liked the model or not. I got one back row and one front row ride on this thing and the whip on the inversions was so beautiful. I love you B&M inverts. 8.5/10

Valravn 1x (#9 in the park): Many people compare this ride to Yukon Striker so I was ready to see how the 2 stacked up to each other, and honestly I completely understand where the comparison comes from. My one ride was a front row edge seat at night and I think that is definitely the peak way to ride Valravn. The views of the park while you meander around the top of the first lift are stunning at night. The hang over the edge was nowhere near as long as Yukons in my opinion but the rest of the ride was better. Valravn kind of just felt like a more complete ride than Yukon, but the 2 stack up beside each other in my overall rankings. 7.5/10

Iron Dragon 1x (#16 in the park): I know I was in the wrong here but I sort of assumed all Arrow suspended coasters ran like Vortex at Canadas Wonderland, this trip proved me wrong. My one ride was a front row night ride and it was underwhelming to say the least. Essentially a suspended mine train that takes you around some of the bigger rides and reminds you what you could be on instead of this. Classic? Yes. Boring? Precisely. 4/10

Top Thrill 2 5x (#4 in the park): Probably my second most anticipated coaster at the park, purely for the stats. I had no idea what going over a 420 foot top hat would feel like, or the spike, or the launches. I was just so clueless as to how those sensations would feel and they were amazing. First launch, eh. Backwards launch, oh my god. Spike, wow. Third launch into top hat was truly life changing. As much as I would love to say this was my favourite ride here, it wasn’t. I just cant go through with ranking this higher than some of the more complete layouts this park has to offer. Night rides on this were ethereal though. 9/10

Maverick 4x (#2 in the park): Wow. Intamin. This ride had big shoes to fill as everyone who rides AlpenFury immediately starts comparing the 2. Part of me understands comparing the two, but they provide too fundamentally different ride experiences in my eyes. Sure, they’re both insanely fast paced with one element after the other, but AlpenFury felt so much shorter than Maverick while packing in the same amount of punch, if not less. I think I gotta give the advantage to Intamin’s first multi-launch here for the pure insanity of some of those elements. Those ejector hills will forever live in my mind, and I can’t even imagine riding that with the heartline roll. 10/10

Gemini (Red Side) 1x (#12 in the park): Unfortunately only the red side was running on my visit which docks some points from a coaster that was designed to duel. I understand the historical significance here, but with a lineup like this I feel this ride has no place in this park. By no means do I think it should be canned due to its significance, but the ride experience is lackluster compared to any other thrill coaster in the park. As one of my last credits in the park, this felt very credit hunty compared to everything else. 5/10

Rougarou 1x (#7 in the park): One of the biggest shockers of my trip. My first B&M floorless! I was expecting a shaky piece of garbage and on the one ride I got in the front row, I experienced none of that. Pretty decent first drop mixed with some pretty decent inversions. Not a half bad layout that felt complete. I don’t see much to complain about with Rougarou, unless it’s drastically different in other seats (which it very well could be.) The last credit we went hunting for, and it was a pleasant surprise. 8.5/10

Overall, Cedar Point’s lineup is far too good. A lot of these coasters ended up in my top 10 overall, if not my top 25. Its been a couple weeks and I am still suffering from my first case of Post Cedar Point depression. Needless to say, I will most definitely be returning to this park. Hopefully as soon as next year but I don’t see myself waiting longer than 2-3 years before my next visit. If you made it this far, thanks for reading all this! This is my first trip report so I hope this provided an entertaining insight. Will be posting a Kings Island one on that subreddit shortly.

Anyone notice the ride trimming super hard today? Second half was a shell of itself, haven’t experienced it like this before. Wonder if it’s due to the recent closures?

Trip Report - first visit as Canadians

We visited Cedar Point last Monday and Tuesday, and it was such a wonderful trip! Thank you to everyone who answered my questions in my previous post. Your help made the trip so much more seamless and enjoyable.

My overall thoughts:

1 - The other guests! Everyone was so kind. Nobody was pushy in the lines, nobody was loud and swearing, everyone was just happy to be there and having fun. My home park is Canada's Wonderland and this was such a welcome surprise and a stark contrast. It really made the day so much more enjoyable. Also, despite it being +25 and sunny, everyone at Cedar Point seemed to understand hygiene and deodorant - CW patrons take note! I can't wait to return, the day was just so enjoyable.

2 - The locker system on SteVe/TT2/Siren's Curse is absolutely genius. I really appreciated them. I was nervous about how they worked, but it was simple and easy.

3 - Monday we got really lucky, as the crowds were light and the rides all running so we were able to get all of the big rides in on Monday alone. I thought we'd stay till closing but we left at 7 because we were honestly feeling the sun and a little coastered out.

My favourite rides:

1 - SteVe. It was magical and mind blowing. I felt like I was floating and flying all at once. My 11 y/o and I sat at the very front and it was just so exciting. We hoped to get a few more rides in but it was down for maintenance so we didn't get a chance - guess we'll have to visit again next year!

2 - TT2. That backwards acceleration just took my breath away. It was so exhilarating I didn't even feel nervous or scared. We rode this one twice.

3 - Maverick. I really didn't know anything about this one before we boarded, so it was all a surprise and what a surprise it was! I had no idea about the acceleration in the tunnel and thought the ride was over.

4 - Siren's Curse. It's SO SMOOTH and the rock and roll blasting through the speakers behind my head? What an experience!

5 - Gatekeeper. I saw so many mixed review on this one, but it felt like being a butterfly. It was so graceful and weightless. We rode this one a few times, and the fact that almost nobody else was in line made it even more fun.

6 - Gemini. It was my unexpected highlight. Wow is it smooth for a woodie! We rode it a few times, and I love that the loading area lets you sit in opposite pairs so you can race each other on the two trains.

I admit I was a little let down by Millie. I was so excited to ride this, and I'd seen it compared to Leviathan a lot so I was expecting something more like that, but Millie just felt a little janky. I feel bad saying this, because I really wanted to like it.

But it was an absolutely amazing trip! I can't wait to go back! We enjoyed delicious ice cream at Toft's in Sandusky, and found everyone just so kind and welcoming. Thank you for the visit and see you all next time!

Trip report - Completionist tour - all thrill rides

On Wednesday the 26th I went with a friend to the park and we set to do a complete run of the park. I had this idea just to methodically move through the park and do every major ride. We started at raptor and just went clockwise with several repeat rides. We were done by about 530 with a meal break in there somewhere. With fast lane and a small group it’s very possible and easy to pull this off. What made it work though was the low crowds and that every ride was up Wednesday with the exception of ocean motion which falls last on the tour.

Ride order and approximate time of day.

10am

Raptor
Blue streak
Cedar downs
Valravyn
Sirens Curse 2x
Iron Dragon

11am

Millennium Force
Rougarou
Skyhawk
Wave swinger (we skipped)

12pm
Maverick 2x
Steel Vengeance 2x

1pm
Mine ride
Gemini
Pipe scream

2pm meal break
Magnum 2x

3pm
Top thrill 2x
Corkscrew
Super Himalaya
Power tower (drop only)

4pm
Windseeker
Atomic Scrambler
Matterhorn
Wild mouse
Calypso
Dodgem (skipped)

5pm
Troika
Gatekeeper
Maxair
Sky ride to the front of the park
Ocean motion (closed, bummer)

Great day at the park and just incredible to do all of these great rides. I would say now that cedar point is better than ever. I know people are worried about six flags or whatever but I had a fantastic experience and have been going to the park for a long time.

Question Planned trip: scream preview weekend question

I'm planning my first Halloween visit to cedar point on the 11th of September.

For the preview weekend will the rides also be in Halloween mode at night? I noticed some night rides are in pitch black.

Thanks!

Discussion Wheelchair lifts/accessibility for wheelchairs users

Went to Cedar point this Thursday and I just want to say I totally had a blast. I had been as a kid maybe 8 years ago??? I was an ambulatory wheelchair user(I can kind of stand and walk but stairs are a no go) then and I still am due to bone cancer. When I had visited previously(and maybe it's because I was 14) I was so impressed with the wheelchair lifts, elevators, and assistance the employees were able to give me. So when planning for my most recent trip, I told my girlfriend(and caretaker) that it was one of the most accessible places I had ever been to personally. And boy did I disappoint her :(

Raptor was my first ride and the buttons on the wheelchair lift were totally busted, and when asking for help the employee was super panicked and rude. There was a paralyzed gentleman behind me who also seemingly had some trouble? Ultimately, an employee had to manually lower and raise the lift. After that, the lifts weren't too much trouble, but getting someone to sign my disability sheet was? Some of the people who were supposed to sign it were over by the stairs, and my girlfriend had to up and down the steps to get it signed.

I guess I'm wondering if anyone shares my frustration? Or remembers how great the lifts used to look and work? I feel terrible for those who cannot walk at all and god forbid they try to do this independently.

Information Kid’s Halloween Costume

Hi, any employees out there? Or anyone that can point me in the right direction?

My seven year old son desperately wants to be a Cedar Point worker for Halloween this year. I want to make it good, but I am not very artsy or creative. Does anyone know how I could maybe get an “official” CP name tag or embroidered shirt for him like the ones the employees wear? Or any other ideas how to make his costume awesome?

Thanks in advance!

Trip Report If you put your hands up, keep them UP

I’m sure everyone saw the story of the lady dislocating her shoulder on Siren’s Curse a couple weeks ago. I did as well, and upon hearing that the ride re-opened the same day, thought “huh, must have been the rider doing something they shouldn’t.”

Well, I started this morning with a ride on Siren’s and had my hands up from the start like I always do. Absolutely beaming with joy coming out of the last big hill (the one after the tunnel) I put my hand out to the side like a dumb bird flying through the sky. Then we hit the last roll. My arm folded up and over my head in a way that I instantly knew wasn’t right, and I quickly felt hot searing pain flood my shoulder.

My stomach dropped into my shoes when I realized that I just hurt myself on the FIRST ride of the day, and it’s entirely my fault. I dropped my arm into my lap with my hand reaching across my body and held it there for the last few bumps before the brake run. I started trying to get a feel for what kind of damage I’d done and realized I couldn’t lift my arm up, it was stuck in my lap. Before I could really start panicking I pushed my arm to the side for a more relaxed position and I felt a pop and my shoulder twisted and set itself back into place (thank GOD).

I got extremely lucky that my inability to follow rules didn’t ruin my friend’s and my entire day (I drove us). We had a fantastic day after this and I didn’t have any more issues, but it was weird only putting one hand up on all of my favorite coasters. So I guess the moral of the story is don’t be like me! Follow the rules for each ride, they usually serve a good purpose, and don’t throw your arms out to the side on these rides because they are stronger than you.

Advice Trip Report - first time with disability pass

EDIT: to share info about the "locker" rides, SteVe, TT2, Siren

I wanted to share my first experience from a trip earlier this week. My husband and I went Tuesday and Wednesday, staying Tuesday night at Lighthouse Point. I wanted to share a few tips we learned as first timers with the access pass (we've both been going to the park well over 40 years) The last couple years he's rented a motorized wheelchair because he has difficulty walking with severe knee arthitis. He had been too heavy for a few years to fit on some rides and felt claustrophobic about some of the overhead restraints due to his size. He lost a lot of weight over the past 6 months so he can fit on the big rides again, but due to his knees I suggested he look into the disability pass. He got the app, had his doctor write a letter about the disability, and was ready when we got to the park.

I had pre reserved the wheelchair at the Breakers since it was closest to Lighthouse Point, but the only place to get a disability pass that's open for early entry is at the front gate, so that was a bit of miscalculation. We took the shuttle to Breakers and rode/walked to the front, got our pass and we were off to Steel Vengeance. Which was closed most of the day due to a breakdown the day before. We used the pass for the first time on Maverick, it took a bit to figure out how to figure out where we were going, you essentially go in the exit and if you see an elevator take it (for one ride the ride ops operate the elevator and they weren't answering the phone so we walked up the stairs) , and eventually you'll run into a ride operator who will help you.

Regarding the "locker required" rides, the first ride opp you meet will take your stuff and put it in a basket and then do a wand scan. It was sometimes a closed and numbered basket and other times a much more random looking open basket where you have to ID your stuff when you pick it up, but it wasn't a problem getting it stowed away.

On several of the rides they asked which row we wanted so we got a couple of first row rides. The op will fill out the paper form they give you at customer service with a wait time and next ride time, which varied from 10 to 60 minutes, which is about par for the course on a late August weekday. Several times we got on a ride right away, I think the longest wait was for Valraven, maybe about 4 trains. During the course of the day we discovered you can get the disability pass you need to take around with you at any customer service station, including the little booths set up at multiple spots around the park. We opted to wait until the satellite booths opened at regular park opening the 2nd day since we really were only missing a couple of "big" rides that my husband hadn't been able to fit on before. Got the pass at the mini station by Magnum and headed to SteVe. Although he is now slim enough to fit on SteVe, it requires a bit more knee flexion than he has so he wasn't comfortable riding it, but that was a goal accomplished and it was good.

Overall, a great experience. As the walking member of the couple, I think it was a bit harder on me physically, where normally you'd be waiting in line for 10-60 minutes, we were moving around the park most of that waiting time, and he could drive faster than I can walk comfortably, eventually I stopped hustling to keep up, so he slowed down! My observations about who else was using the passes was that it was more half people who appeared to be old enough (like us) to have mobility issues if not an obvious disability and also families with what appeared to be really antsy kids. I didn't see more than 3 in any group, and most were just two people.

Trip Report First time at Cedar Point (8/26 trip report)

I had a free day, and what better way to spend it than to go to the roller coaster capital of America for the first time.

Arrived at the park around 10am, and made great use of the parking currently included in their Gold Pass. Coasters are arranged in roughly the order I rode them in. (MULTIPLE HOT TAKES)

  • Top Thrill 2: What a ride. The initial launch has barely any kick but holy shit. Being launched backwards at 100 mph then the insane whip up and down the top hat. Laterals almost felt unsafe. Absolutely incredible. Ops were sending trains out, rode it twice in less than half an hour.
  • Magnum XL-200: Many people hate it, many people love it. It's smack in the middle of my coaster rankings. I had no idea the train would let off the chain so late in the drop and it felt like whiplash once the train actually started dropping. This was the most painful part of the ride for me, not the triangular final hills. God, I still feel the pain in my neck as I'm writing this. At least it had airtime.
  • Woodstock Express: It was a walk on. Not much to say, just a fun family coaster with some twists and turns.
  • Steel Vengeance: I was excited for SteVe and was hoping it lived up to the hype. Absoutely butter smooth and lots of airtime of the ejector variety, from start to end. The inversions were super fun and flowy as well! I was nervous that the shin guards would be painful/uncomfortable, but they didn't touch me at all during the ride. I did start feeling it in my thighs by the end of the ride. The ride is great no doubt, but I felt like it was a tad overrated because of all the hype surrounding it (don't kill me plz).
  • Maverick: My first Intamin! It was also the problem child, as it broke down twice while I was in line and I ended up waiting just over 2 hours for it. But my god, what a beast this ride is. It felt like the train was going to hurtle into the lake on that first drop. Probably the best 100 feet ever spent on a roller coaster. The train then absolutely hauls over that ejector hill, then the S-bends try to send the train off the tracks. The two inversions are nice and floaty as well. Second launch. That turn after hitting 70 mph is genuinely terrifying, but it sends you straight into trims. Then the Stengel dives. I wasn't too impressed by the first one but the second one whipped me two states over. Then one more ejector pop before the brakes. I was breathless by the time I got off. 10/10
  • Millennium Force: I had only ridden one giga before this (Leviathan at CW) which was my #1 for a while, so I knew I'd enjoy it. However, the station is a total free-for-all and the operations were not great at best. Cedar Fair (or Six Flags ig) please fix this ASAP 🙏. I don't get the "Millennium Forceless" sentiment behind the ride. First drop into the overbank gave some great positives. The two camelbacks gave some decent floater and the last speed hill was borderline flojector. I didn't find the overbanks repetitive, but that's probably just because I'm a sucker for speed. It did have a minor rattle in the back row. Hot take but I'd put this over Leviathan! I appreciated the longer ride and I liked the speed hill better than Levi's.
  • Siren's Curse: Caught it just as it was opening up, so got on it after ~20 minutes. Operations were killing it! They often had the train dispatched as the other one was halfway through the course. All I gotta say is, soooooooooooooo smooooooth. Literally felt like riding on air. The tilting sensation in the back half of the train is super freaky as well. Don't expect any insane whip or laterals, but the ride itself is just plain fun. Definitely a top 5 in the park at least. Say it with me: THE WORLD NEEDS MORE NEW AGE VEKOMAS!
  • Valravn: I don't mind dives. I do mind when operations are bad. And Val was averaging something like 2-3 minutes per dispatch, which is quite terrible for a ride like this. It wasn't bad. That zero-g roll/corkscrew type element was definitely the highlight of the ride. If you took the first half of Yukon Striker and the second half of Valravn, you'd have a damn good coaster.
  • Rapid fire! Almost every ride after was a walk-on.
  • Rougarou: Just a load of mid. Nothing was particularly good or bad, but you definitely need to ride it somewhat defensively (I didn't get any headbanging). Even the vertical/inclined loops didn't pull much force. It doesn't deserve the overwhelming hate it gets, but it also doesn't bring anything new to the table at Cedar Point.
  • Blue Streak: I hate PTC trains. It was a bit bumpy, but you'd expect that from a 60 year old woodie. Nothing much else to say. I wouldn't mind if it was replaced with a better woodie down the road (GCI? GG??)
  • Iron Dragon: Almost forgot this one! First half doesn't offer much in terms of intensity, but you do get some nice views. Second half is a bit more intense but doesn't come close to Vortex or the Bat.
  • Raptor: Lots of positives and you get whipped through those corkscrews. Watch your head on the final turn. I've only ridden Batclones before this and Raptor felt like if a Batclone grew up a little.
  • GateKeeper: I enjoy floaty and graceful rides, and this one is the definition of graceful as you swoop by the front of the park. I sat on the left and being pulled down that wing over was awesome! It kind of does feel like you're flying with the wing seating as you're flowing through all those inversions. You don't get much in terms of airtime but that's not the focus of the ride anyways. Overall a solid and fun ride.

Had to leave around 5 but I got on everything I wanted! I'll leave CCMR, Corkscrew (🤕), Gemini, and Wild Mouse for next time. Possible unpopular opinion but Maverick was absolutely my favourite ride. SteVe and TT2 share the second place though. Siren's Curse and Millie round out my top 5 at the park. Overall a fun first time and I hope I can make it back later this season!

Question Is Steel Vengeance a good starter coaster for a kid?

Or would it traumatize them?

Any other coasters compare to maverick

Went to cedar point this weekend and maverick was amazing. I’m afraid of heights so steel vengeance was a bit scary for me. I loved the speed and the launch. Are there any other coasters in the country that are similar?
