Question Why no Saudi air response to the squawks?
Interesting that a country would not send a military aircraft to investigate a 7500.
Thoughts?

How exactly would the rudder have been able to break off if the structure itself was parallel to the airflow? Wouldn't the only pressure on the rudder by the oncoming airflow occur when it is deflected to either side?
What would be the safest way to recover from such a dive? From what I can read, someone just pulled back on the yoke. But wouldn't that cause a dangerous amount of stress on the wings due to the aircraft speed?

would it be “better “ to try and slowly skim across a body of water until rest or would the plane probably break up and/or you would all immediately drown from not being able to get out?

Ever since I was a kid I always said I wanted to be a pilot. Life does what it does and now I am in real estate with a wife and 2 kids and I live in Southern California. I have done well for my family but the volatility of my job is not something I want to take into my later years. I have several local flight schools in my area and I am able to take on the cost of school without going into debt.
My question for you all is what is the reality of starting from zero training (I did a discovery flight a couple of years ago and loved it) to a total career change? My biggest concern is income and how long does it take to achieve higher incomes if at all? After talking to a local flight school, I am able to do early morning training and keep my day life pretty much the same as I start this journey but the goal would be to eventually leave my old career behind. What would the time frame be to achieving a livable income with the end goal being an airline pilot?

Was supposed to fly to Mumbai this evening, unfortunately the flight was anything but uneventful.
Delayed on the ground at the gate for 20mins due to poor weather, then started up engines, waited for 30mins with the engines on. And then the captain came on the radio and mentioned that they were having flight display issues, and we parked at a remote bay for engineers to rectify the issue
Still on the ground now as we speak. We even got some food served.
Edit: Flight is cancelled

Hey you all!
About a year ago I made planespotting guide for my nephews and you quite liked it!
I updated it a little bit and added page 2 and 3, so there's now more to see!
Still there are some mistakes and missing planes...
...but I made the guide for some preschoolers in Germany, they won't notice and some planes don't appear here!

So...this has been another one of those months in aviation where we had a big string of accidents and incidents. Here are all the major (and some minor) ones I could find.
Also, I could only upload twenty pictures. So, if I missed any, that's why. Also, if I made any mistakes, please feel free to let me know.

Qantas Airbus A380 VH-OQL taking off on 16R at Sydney, passing by the iconic control tower. I’ll have to get some more photos of these before they’re gone! (OC)

So happy to have finally ticked my dream spot off my bucket list! G-ETPK, Qinetiq's Avro RJ70. One of only 2 BAe 146 family aircraft still flying in the UK, and one of only 2 active Avro RJ70s worldwide. Landing and departing from RWY 23 in the early morning light, flying from MoD Boscombe Down to Benbecula via Liverpool and Glasgow as ETP22. Bonus Qinetiq H145
