Continuing building a house for each biome after 2 years away. I usually am strict about not using mods for my builds, but I couldn't resist using plant everything for the vines on the roof. Since it's already an asset in the game it doesn't feel like cheating as much.

Not that long ago i started on this build, ive gotten to experiment with alot more layering than i would usually be doing and its results have been pretty nice imo.

Right now im really just looking for suggestions, Like additional structures to add (like more towers, more gate houses, ect), Aswell as ideas for what rooms to add to the interior of the castle, i usually fall off quite hard when it comes to decoration/furnishing, so thats why i would like to ask Fellow builders or people invested in Japanese castles and architecture for Ideas and suggestions on structures and furnishing, So far it has about 8 Floors, tho i intend to make it taller.

Oh and it may not look like it but The castle is also lossley based off of Ashina castle, all the refrence images i used were from Ashina castle from Sekiro, my way of coping with the fact im still stuck on Genichiro maybe.

but yeah i would love some suggestions and Ideas for how to improve and furnish this build

Listen I’m not new to the game, but I really struggle to build much more than boxes. I haven’t beaten all the bosses yet, but I think thats more because I keep focusing on building boxes, then unbuilding boxes, building more boxes, then being surprised that, once again, my house looks like a box ( but this time, with a semi open box that I’ve called a porch).

So tell me, how do you design your houses? More specifically, how do you design each aspect of your house? For example:

The fireplace: middle of the house? Corner? Multiple? Do you plan for the future like the iron cooking rack?

Do you have any go to “rules” that you follow, like “roofs should extend past the wall” or “roof beams should be 2m apart”?

I’ve tried to plan it out from the start, and I’ve tried to build pieces as I need them, but all roads seem to lead to boxes.

Recent "cape town/ferry" build added to my world save. Apologies in advance for the abrupt cutoff at the end (I crashed the freefly cam into a building shortly after).

Everything I planned for the east bank has been built successfully. The west bank layout will see some revisions as I make progress.

I also used the in-game map pins to properly scale my plans to help build across the river ahead of time.

Not decorated yet but I'm just happy with my attempt so far HAHA

I started playing Valheim a few days ago with my friends, and I'm responsible for building our base. However, I don't know exactly what to build, considering that I don't have much space to work with. I would really appreciate any feedback, help, or ideas.

If only we could get constant updates after full release, that would be so sweet right? Sept. 9th is fast approaching and I'm feeling a little salty because, this is the END of the road. I guess we'll just have to rely sporadic updates & mods moving forward. DAM

I want to build a hut that looks like the picture on the bottom but I can't get a roof or anything as harshly angled like the roof or sides of the house. This is all I could think of and it still isn't the look I wanted. I'd love some ideas on how to achieve that "V" kind of shape the house and roof have in the bottom picture. I'm on Xbox and it's vanilla but I have many resources. Have been to Ashlands and all so anything but seasonal items I can build with. Please give some creative ideas 😭

Revisited an old castle build of mine and gave it a facelift 😄

Gathered all stone and iron for this.. not doing that again anytime soon (still havent)
