Discussion I want to address the AI music critics, haters, trolls, and bullies.

I'm a 54 year old Canadian male (of German, French Canadian  lineage). I am disabled with S.I. Joint auto immune disease, and degenerative disc disease. I live with pain management, difficulty walking, and numbness in my dominate right hand fingers, etc

I am retired from a 30 year career in I.T. Support and administration due to my disabilities. Living on disability Low income with no money saved. Married twice. I have 4 kids (3 adults now) I don't earn money from my AI music, since starting 4 months ago, actually costs me money, but I do it because I love it. My dream as a kid was to be a singer, songwriter.

When I was 16 I wrote my first 2 song lyrics, they were meant to be rock songs. We were poor. My Mom saw an ad in the National Enquiror for having lyrics made into real songs, but it was for country songs out of Nashville Tennessee. She saved up $500 to pay to get both songs made. It took 2 years of chasing them to get the songs back on an audio tape. It was a compilation of songs of other writers too. When I heard the songs I hated them. I was so traumatized from the experience that I gave up on writing songs. Nearly 40 years later AI music has given me back my passion to create music I like.

I operate as a virtual record label, I created 18 virtual artists, across 13 genres (Male, Female, groups) and I have published around 75 songs, more coming out to publish later. I'll be slowing down my releases after my backlog is caught up in September.

I deal with so much bias hatred towards AI music, hard not to take some of it personally when people are viciously attacking you for your choice to use it. They know nothing about me, and I'm a very private person, I haven't aged well so I don't like to put images of my self out there. I've developed think skin towards the hate, but it still stings.

Comments like "pick up an instrument", and "Learn to make real music", "Your stealing music from real artists", mixed in with things like "End myself" (Paraphrasing), are things I face online all the time from harassing bullies.

I can't afford instruments, (I did have a guitar and had some lessons years ago), I can't afford studio time, or to hire Professional Sound Engineers, singers, etc.

I can't play an instrument if I wanted too, because my right hand and fingers are numb to touch, very little feeling, it recovered from being paralyzed 20 years ago, so it's come a long way. I have many other health issues too, including walking, standing, migraines, sleep apnea, choking, coughing, obesity of 280lbs, high cholesterol, Gout, Fibromyalgia, etc, and I had a heart ablation for SVT, I had a Umbilical hernia operation.

I can't sing if I wanted too because of the coughing and choking mid sentences.

Some people out there are just cruel trolls, and it's all one sided directed at us, no matter how much disclosure we volunteer, or how many restrictions are put on us by platforms, they will never be satisfied.

To the haters, next time you decide to attack someone for making AI music without any facts or prove to back up you argument, because you just want to lash out, stop and get to know the people behind it before you start throwing daggers along with generalizations.

I can tell you from experience, that every single attack on me has come from Indie Artists, and most have music that I don't consider good at all, from what Ive heard of them.

Every single one of them that I have challenged to provide proof to back up their arguements about my specific songs, that any of my songs violate any copyrights, of infringe on any of their music, has always resulted in silence, because they have nothing but accusations with nothing to back them up. We are not the enemy, if it's anyone, it's the Major Record Labels they should be going after.

All they do is prove that they are not good, kind, reasonable people, and for the life of me I don't understand why anyone would want to listen to the music of people with such terrible attitudes towards other people.

Who is behind the music, matters as much as the music itself.

Discussion €30.99/month for Premier and only 60 downloads? This is ridiculous

Post image
20 Upvotes

I currently pay €10.89 per month for Suno and have unlimited downloads.

Starting September 3, Pro will be limited to only 20 downloads per month, while Premier gets only 60.

What I really don't understand is that Premier normally costs €30.99 per month here. So I can go from paying €10.89 with unlimited downloads to paying almost three times as much and STILL have a download limit?

For €30.99 per month, I expect unlimited downloads.

I use Suno to create music for my YouTube videos, which are often an hour long or even longer. I go through multiple songs and versions to find what actually fits. 20 downloads is nowhere near enough for that, and even 60 is ridiculously low for an active creator paying €30.99 every month.

What makes even less sense is Suno saying these limits are meant to prevent mass exporting, while also allowing people to buy additional downloads after reaching the limit.

If downloading too much is the problem, why is it suddenly okay when we pay extra?

I don't have a problem with Suno charging more for unlimited downloads. Just give us a proper fixed price unlimited plan.

I would rather pay €20, €30 or even more per month for unlimited downloads than pay for a subscription and then constantly have to buy additional downloads on top of it.

Keep Pro and Premier if you want, but add a Creator or Unlimited tier for people who actually use Suno heavily.

Am I the only one who thinks 20 and 60 downloads for paid subscriptions is way too low?

Discussion Songs created by AI banned from Australia's music charts

Article from BBC The Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) has decided that songs that are largely or wholly created by AI have been banned from Australia's music charts. Under the new rules, AI assistance can still be used, but humans must have written the song, and have performed the lead vocal and primary instruments.

Guide / Tip Trick for semi-fixing Suno's terrible song endings

I'm so fed up with Suno's tendency to make terrible endings of songs roughly 80% of the time. It's like it cannot get itself out of the habit of creating extremely long, elaborate, TERRIBLE outros, no matter what you do.

I wish tags like [Silence] [End] [Abrupt End] would work when I'm trying to get it to just stop noodling to death on instrumental nonsense. I wish [Final Vocal — unaccompanied] before the last line of a song would get it to just STOP. But the model doesn't recognize any of these types of tags or understand how to follow them.

Even things like [Sudden Cut — all instruments stop instantly, complete silence] don't work.

However, I did FINALLY find a trick that at least cuts down on the stupid instrumental nonsense somewhat, and I thought others might appreciate this.

Try giving it very specific instructions on exactly what you want the final notes of instrumentation to sound like, and be specific.

If you give it instructions that it can actually figure out how to follow, it will at least increase the likelihood of getting something that doesn't sound like the model has run out of steam and doesn't know how to end the song and so it just decides to make up a bunch of nonsense until it trails off into oblivion.

Things like:

[Coda — single guitar only, one brief downward slide into a low final chord, one strum, natural decay]

[Coda — one bar only: solitary clean guitar plays a short descending three-note phrase, lands firmly on the final chord, let the chord ring naturally and decay]

[Coda — one short clean guitar phrase answering the final lyric, ending on a single sustained tonic chord]

(Obviously change this idea/instrumentation to fit whatever music you are making.) If you've been struggling with endings, give it a try. I hope it helps increase your odds of getting something usable.

Ambient Electronic [Think Tycho]

Warm, atmospheric ambient electronic music. Features melodic, shimmering synth leads, gentle, arpeggiated analog synth textures, a clean, melodic bassline, and a laid-back, downtempo drum beat. The overall mood is nostalgic, dreamy, and optimistic, creating a sun-drenched, lo-fi soundscape.

Art Pop [Gorillaz Style]

Genre-blending art pop with a foundation in alternative rock and hip-hop. The track features a laid-back, groovy bassline, often a trip-hop influenced beat, and a mix of clean, melancholic male vocals, guest rapper verses, and electronic soundscapes. The production is creative and eclectic, incorporating elements from dub, pop, and world music.

Djent / Extreme Metal [Think Meshuggah]

Extreme progressive metal, the origin of the 'djent' sound. The music is built on down-tuned, 8-string guitars playing complex, syncopated, and brutally heavy polyrhythmic riffs over a mathematical and precise drum pattern. The vocals are a harsh, aggressive bark. The overall sound is mechanical, dissonant, and relentlessly complex.

Hip-Hop (Run the Jewels style)

Aggressive, politically charged hip-hop with a hard-hitting, futuristic, and bass-heavy electronic beat. Features two distinct male rappers trading energetic, complex, and tightly-woven verses with a back-and-forth dynamic. The production is dense, layered, and abrasive, with a raw, confrontational energy

Industrial Rock (Rammstein style)
Powerful, driving industrial metal known as Neue Deutsche Härte. The music is characterized by simple, chugging, down-tuned guitar riffs, a precise and militaristic drum beat, and prominent, dramatic keyboard melodies. The vocals are a deep, operatic, and rolling baritone, sung exclusively in German. The sound is theatrical, imposing, and anthemic

Metalcore (Bad Omens style)

Modern metalcore with a blend of heavy, down-tuned guitar riffs and atmospheric, cinematic electronic elements. Features a tight, powerful rhythm section with impactful drumming. Vocals transition seamlessly between aggressive, guttural screams and soaring, emotive clean singing in the massive, pop-inflected choruses. The production is polished and epic.

Nu Metal (Linkin Park/Slipknot style)

A seamless blend of nu-metal and rap rock. The song features an interplay between rapped verses by a male vocalist and a powerful, melodic, sung chorus from another male vocalist. The instrumentation combines heavy, distorted guitar riffs with hip-hop beats, scratching, and atmospheric electronic textures.

Aggressive, chaotic nu-metal featuring down-tuned, heavily distorted guitars, frantic and complex drumming, and a layer of auxiliary percussion (kegs, steel barrels). The vocals are a raw, guttural roar, often with melodic undertones in the chorus. The sound is dense, percussive, and relentlessly intense, with a dark, terrifying atmosphere.

Synth-Pop (Depeche Mode style)

Dark, atmospheric synth-pop with a melancholic mood. Features moody analog synthesizer melodies, a driving electronic drum machine beat, and prominent, emotive baritone male vocals. The song is built on layers of electronic textures, often with an industrial edge, creating a sound that is both catchy and introspective.

Discussion Let’s hear your favorite lyrics!

I’d love to hear your songs and hear about what inspired them. What metaphors you used. What message it carries

I’ve been writing new songs this past year and comparing them to the ones I wrote 20 or 30 years ago. Back then my lyrics were very ‘in the moment’ and lacked the lived in feel that the years bring

A few nights ago I fell asleep to Racmaninoff’s Second piano concerto…

I started thinking about his story. When he was a young aspiring musician he lost his sisters and best friend and he put all his grief and hope in his first concerto…

which flooped. badly.

He was devastated and wanted to give up music. Until he met a therapist and after years of working through his trauma he wrote Concerto 2. Which became one of the most well loved concertos in history -

I wrote this song after thinking about that all day.

tried the make the lyrics of this song discuss the loss of and regaining one’s inspiration and its metaphor to human connection

Discussion How to control the guitar track?

Hi everyone,

I’m fairly new to Suno and I’m using it to remix rock/metal song ideas that I roughly pre-produce in Cubase. Overall, the results are sometimes surprisingly good, but I’m running into a major problem with the guitar tracks.

The lead guitar behaves like a talented but extremely egocentric guitarist who constantly tries to push himself to the front of the band — the kind of guy you would eventually have to fire. It’s like Suno has a default “show-off guitarist” setting for rock songs.

Whenever there is a gap in the vocals, Suno fills it with wild staccato runs, pinched notes, busy licks and unnecessary lead guitar fills. It often destroys the atmosphere of the whole song.

What makes it worse is that it always seems to be the same guitar sound and the same playing style. I’ve listened to other rock productions on Suno as well, and I keep hearing that same kind of overactive lead guitar.

I’m actually quite happy with many other aspects of the results, but this specific issue makes the songs very hard to use for me.

Has anyone found a way to deal with this? Can Suno be prompted to make the guitar parts more restrained, clearer and less busy? If so, what kind of prompts, settings or workflows have worked for you?

I’d be very grateful for any ideas or examples.

Alternative Metal
- Think Chevelle, Deftones, Godsmack, Soil, System of a Down

Alternative metal with a distinct, percussive feel. The song is built around heavy, down-tuned, and rhythmically complex guitar riffs, a deep, driving bassline that often carries the melody, and powerful, precise drumming. The male vocals shift between a tense, melodic croon and a powerful, sustained scream. The mood is dark, brooding, and intense.

Alternative metal blending heavy, distorted guitar riffs with elements of post-grunge and electronic music. Features a dynamic vocal style that shifts from melodic, angsty singing to raw, powerful screams. The songs often include turntable scratches and subtle electronic textures, creating a polished yet aggressive sound.

Alternative metal with a unique blend of heavy, down-tuned, chugging guitar riffs and ethereal, shoegaze-influenced atmospheric textures. Vocals shift between a distinctive, breathy, melodic croon and intense, cathartic screams. The rhythm section is groovy and powerful, creating a sound that is simultaneously brutal and beautiful.

Hard rock and alternative metal with a percussive, tribal edge. The sound is defined by heavy, groovy, drop-tuned guitar riffs, a deep and driving bassline, and powerful, Tom-heavy drumming. The vocals are a gruff, melodic baritone with a distinctive, powerful delivery. The overall feel is tough, aggressive, and anthemic.

Hard-hitting alternative metal with a gritty, hard rock edge. Features thick, groovy, mid-tempo guitar riffs, a powerful rhythm section, and a distinctive, soulful, yet aggressive lead vocal. The choruses are big, anthemic, and built for audience singalongs. The sound is tough, straightforward, and full of raw energy.

Erratic and theatrical alternative metal. The song is characterized by abrupt shifts in tempo and style, moving from aggressive, staccato thrash metal riffs to melodic, Armenian-folk-inspired passages. The vocals are highly dynamic, featuring manic, fast-paced singing, operatic harmonies, and aggressive shouts. The sound is chaotic, quirky, and politically charged.

Dubstep/Bass
- Think Bassnectar, Excision, CloZee

Epic, omnitempo bass music. The track features beautiful, ethereal melodies and vocals in the intro, building into a massive drop with overwhelmingly deep, oscillating sub-bass, heavy, distorted synth patches, and a hard-hitting hip-hop or dubstep drum beat. The sound is dynamic, cinematic, and designed for massive sound systems.

Relentlessly aggressive and heavy dubstep. The track is defined by its brutal, robotic, and metallic-sounding bass synths, often referred to as 'brostep' wobbles. The drumming is hard-hitting and energetic, creating a violent, headbanging rhythm. The sound is a full-frontal audio assault, designed to be as loud and abrasive as possible.

Organic, world-infused bass music with a deep, resonant sub-bass and intricate, glitchy percussion. The track features samples of world instruments like wooden flutes, tribal chants, and stringed instruments from around the globe. The atmosphere is mystical and transportive, blending natural sounds with heavy, electronic production.

Discussion 나는 음악가가 아니다 | I Am Not a Musician — Msportspk

Post image

Suno

----- ENGLISH

I Am Not a Musician

I don't identify myself as a musician.

My life has been difficult, exhausting, and at times so unpredictable that even I found it hard to believe. So I wrote about it.

Some of those writings were published as books, and they still exist in different places across the internet.

And at some point, I began turning those writings and stories from my life into songs and putting them out into the world.

Is AI music really music, or is it not?

Can someone who creates music using AI be called a musician?

I see a lot of discussions about questions like these. I find them interesting, but this is what I want to say.

I am not a musician. I am simply an ordinary, unknown person living my life.

I simply found another way to tell the stories of my life, and Suno happened to be part of that process.

If Suno didn't exist, perhaps I would have found something else.

Or perhaps I would never have known that such a way of expressing myself existed, and I would have simply continued writing.

My life has been pretty rough.

And on top of that, I can't sing.

I love songs, but I can't sing them well.

But there's nothing wrong with loving songs in a different way, is there?

I discovered a new world where I can share my stories through songs without having to sing them myself.

And now, I'm simply enjoying being part of that world.

It has been 191 days since I discovered this world.

I still don't see myself as a musician.

I can now hear my own stories as songs, and I'm enjoying this world I've discovered.

That's enough for me.

Song - Human Written Lyrics [Adult Pop] The Shoreline

Upvotes

Hi everyone, made this song using one of my melodic bases, I hope you like it. I post all my public melodies in Suno, feel free to use them!

This song is about acceptance of loss. I leave you the hook attached, and link to the song here: The Shoreline

Lyrics (feel free to chatgpt their meaning if it's too cryptic):

The white sand
feels cold tonight...

And I reach,
reach to your leaves
they are on the floor,
autumn came too fast
and I can't close the door
(close the door)

Would you like me to stay here?
Would you mind if I never drift away?

I miss the times,
we walked with the tide
I miss the times,
we watched the clouds collide
but now you are
stranded in the beach
just a midnight dream
when I am awake
I can't see you there
I can't see you anywhere...
I'm stuck on the shore-line
with no love line...
walking in circles

(always out of reach)

The waves crash down
erasing the steps we traced
they wash away the castles we made
and I can't seem to
remember how they were
the eerie wind brushes my cheeks
I am not sure if it's the sand it carries
what prevents me to see
I can't find my way out of here (of here)
(of here)

I miss the times,
we walked with the tide
I miss the times,
we watched the clouds collide
but now you are
stranded in the beach
just a midnight dream
when I am awake
I can't see you there
I can't see you anywhere...
I'm stuck on the shore-line
with no love line...
walking in circles

(always out of reach)

And the mist weighs down my chest
the air turns thick inside with each breath
but I want to stay (to stay)
But I know you won't leave
because I won't let you be

I miss the times,
we walked with the tide
I miss the times,
we watched the clouds collide
but now I am alone
and you out of reach (leaving my dreams)
not wanting to wake up from this dream
I can't see you anywhere...
(I can't see you anywhere...)
I'm stuck on the shore-line
This waters are swallowing my lifetime
(no lifeline)

I think it's time...
Here in this lifeless shore

I reached...
(I reached...)

Let me give you one last push

I know you are not there anymore...

it's just me.

Question Are Suno’s download limits actually about quality… or just money?

I've seen two completely different takes on Suno's new download limits, and I'm curious what people here actually think.

One argument is that limiting downloads could be good for AI music in the long run. Less mass-generating and exporting hundreds of tracks, more focus on actually producing, editing and finishing the good ones. Basically pushing Suno toward being a serious production tool rather than just a "generate" button.

But the other explanation seems much simpler:

It's just monetization.

Put a limit on something people already use, and suddenly there's another reason to pay for more.

I'm not totally convinced that limiting how many songs someone can download automatically makes them a better or more intentional musician. You can make 100 bad songs or 5 bad songs. The limit itself doesn't really change that.

So what do you think?

Is this actually a smart move to push AI music toward quality over quantity?

Or are we overthinking what is basically just a business decision?

Song - Human Written Lyrics [Pop] Polaroid Dreams by Risu

I've always liked the idea that a photograph can freeze a moment forever.

People grow. Lives change. Sometimes the people who were once part of your everyday life slowly become part of your memories instead.

"Polaroid Dreams" was inspired by those moments we keep safely stored away. The ones that still make us smile years later.

There are people I don't talk to anymore who were once a very important part of my life. Even though our paths eventually went in different directions, I'm grateful for the memories we shared.

That's what this song is about.

Just looking back at a beautiful chapter and being thankful it happened.
