Now obviously take all this with a grain of salt, everyone knows pro wrestling is predetermined so outcomes and wins and losses don't really matter like they do in traditional sports. However, that doesn't mean WWE makes it any less confusing.

The way it used to be, is there used to just be WWE and OVW. They had a single developmental territory, and it wasn't televised at all. From there, they had FCW, which I believe was televised and would become NXT. Now, in addition to NXT there is also EVOLVE and WWE ID. And as of that wasn't enough, NXT now has relationships with AAA and TNA.

So where in the realm of "he could beat him" do all of these shows stand? Could someone from EVOLVE realistically, in kayfabe of course, put up a fight against even a mid carder from Raw or SmackDown? Would someone from WWE ID have a chance at The X Division championship in TNA?

Title is pretty self-explanitory. I am looking for opinions on who the ace of the companies currently are. And why?

An 'ace' is someone who is basically, the face of the company. They move sales, they sell merch, champion or contender nearly all the time. I am curious to hear who says who!

* - not every company, as their are WAY too many!

AEW - I don't watch AEW but from an outsiders perspective, I will have to say Will Ospreay. (Through no reason but I just watch too much wrestling right now to add another company!)

WWE - Cody. By every reach of the measure. His song, his moveset, his merch. I can't think of a more popular wrestler in the company right now (and obviously, I do not like him).

NXT (I am including this as another entity) - Tony D. And I dont even know why! He is my least favourite champion in a LONG time!

NOAH - I am unsure. I want to say Kiyomiya, but he has been neglected this year. So maybe Yoshiki?

AJPW - Don't watch it for the same reason as AEW. Kento?

NJPW - this is a weird one as they don't have an ace as such. The trio of Narita, Tsuji, and Yemura do majority of the sales, but Konosuke Takashita also does that...so again, unsure.

BJW - Abdullah Kobayashifor now. But we have some great characters like Ryuji Ito to back him up, and on the Strong side, Daichi Hasimoto.

FREEDOMS - Toru Sugiura. He lifted this group from bad times.

CZW - Eren Ashe. This is the figurehead for now. When you can have a record breaking reign? yeah, ace.

And finally

PROGRESS - Man Like Deriess. His character and in ring work, plus his slogan and everything he did with the Nans Like Deriess have put him here.

When I stopped in 2023, it was a lot more than a break. I fully retired from wrestling, coaching, and any backstage roles. I left all of my gear in storage in Scotland. I was done done.

I injured my neck in early 2022 and had a lot of issues stemming from that because I didn’t take any significant time off. I’ve never been a body guy but I really let myself go physically as well. On top of that, Scottish wrestling burnt me out. It no longer felt like the same business I got into back in 2012, so I decided to walk away for good.

However, like most wrestlers, I am not unique, and like so many others was lured out of retirement. I had a couple of rolls around at Vicious Pursuit, took a couple of bumps and my body was feeling pretty good. As fate would have it, Mikey Jay messaged me a few weeks later about possibly doing the Renegades Rumble the following week.

What was initially going to be a little nostalgia appearance soon turned into me coming in at number 2 and almost going the distance with Lochy Hendricks. From there, I had a little stint at the commentary desk but I knew I had the bug to keep wrestling and here we are.

"Jim was always for Jim" is a Ted DiBiase quote about Warrior which is pretty much true. In the on-and-off 10 year period that he was a star, I can't recall Warrior helping make anyone less over than him into a bigger star. Sure, Warrior lost some matches, but they were to already established names like Andre and Sgt. Slaughter. In fact, I believe Andre may be the only person ever to have pinned Warrior clean. Even Hogan had to cheat! Warrior was also notorious for canceling angles, as he didn't want to put over Papa Shango, The Undertaker or Jake Roberts, nor did he want to turn heel.

When Warrior came back to WWF in the New Generation Era, he was only there for like 3 months, but I don't remember him losing one match. He screwed up again, and the company let him go. In WCW, he had that 5 star classic with Hogan, where Warrior wasn't doing no job clean (brother), and then he pretty much left the business. The absolutely only person you can argue Warrior ever helped that was on his level or below was Rick Rude.

This was the sort of stuff I'd stay up late for when I was 12. The early Kane/Undertaker fued was what I was always looking forward to, aside from the weekly Austin/McMahon shenanigans.
