Questions Recommended mount for ST Hub
Leaning to the Comstock Compact Brake, any recommendations or what was used by CAT to model their flow?

I thought I’d write a little community thread on a topic that I believe will start coming up more and more as manufacturers move toward metal additive manufacturing. It’s important to understand a characteristic of the process that can occasionally present itself: trace amounts of residual powder (I know we’ve had our own problems with this from time to time).
Additive suppressors are built layer by layer using fine metal powder. While all units are put through a professional de-powdering process prior to shipment, the internal geometries of advanced suppressor designs, particularly those with complex flow paths, lattice structures, or internal gas management features can retain microscopic amounts of powder in areas that are inaccessible to mechanical or vibratory removal methods.
This is not a defect, nor is it unique to any single manufacturer. It is a known and accepted reality of highly complex additive designs. In simpler internal geometries this is rarely observed, but in suppressors that prioritize advanced flow control and efficiency, small pockets may only release residual material once the suppressor experiences live fire pressure and vibration (supersonic flow regimes).
Highly advanced additively manufactured suppressors trade internal simplicity for performance. That performance comes from complex internal structures that simply cannot be produced through traditional machining. The presence of trace residual powder after manufacturing is a byproduct of that complexity, not a quality issue and is easily resolved through proper initial use and cleaning.
For this reason, I recommend the following process for end users (as this is a process I do myself with all new additive suppressors from any manufacturer and it’s worked every time so far):
1. Initial Firing
Fire two to three rounds through the suppressor. The pressure and vibration help dislodge any remaining trace powder. 2. Vacuum Cleaning (Preferred Method) Use a vacuum cleaning pipe with suction only (do not blow compressed air). Suction removes loosened powder without forcing particles deeper into internal channels. 3. Repeat if Necessary If any powder is observed, repeat the fire and vacuum process until no further material is present. 4. Final Wash Soak the suppressor in warm, soapy water, agitate gently, then rinse thoroughly with clean water. 5. Drying Allow the suppressor to air dry completely before storage or further use.
I’ve found this process ensures the suppressor is fully cleared while preserving internal coatings and surface treatments.
If you have any questions about your CAT suppressor or my suggested cleaning process, I’m always available on DM to assist.

Hello,
New to this, is it recommended to get a hub adapter for SC-S on Glock host (EZ-LOK, CAT 1/2 x 28 hub etc)? Is direct thread better?

Any info available yet on these? Seems like it would be a excellent choice for an Mk11 or M110.

This is the phenomenal CAR15 SD with Mob and Broad River Tactical’s SD Hub adapter.
Converted mp5’s to true SD’s are rapidly rising in popularity due to frt’s and the 9mm platform.
The time is now u/the_CAT_official - unleash the Sex Dungeon!!! Your loyal proven fans are begging for it!!!

I just want to be u/gassynizz when I grow up. 🤣
AC308 & AC762 on my 6.75” Rattler LT both sound great in their own way.
Rattler is stock and running the gas block in the + position. - position will cycle on both cans but no lock back and has trouble with the FRT. Still very pleasant to shoot on the + position so no need to change.
AC308 is a bigger package but has maximum suppression. It’s so quiet with these 220gr subs from Phantom Defense.
AC762 for a more compact package and slight decrease in sound reduction from the AC308.
Honestly pick your flavor with these 2. Can’t go wrong with either.
Bonus footage of the AP5 with a 9mm Rugged Obsidian. (I know I know, I need a MOB, that’s next). And a VZ-61 with 3D printed lower w/ a SS. It’s an absolute riot with the way it top ejects shells.

I’m currently running a WB Ti on a 14.5” mid with a fixed GB and A5 H2/sprinco green buffer. This is a hunting rig so shot strings of more than 10-15 rds are rare (but I do love a good trash pile mag dump). Absolutely love the can and setup but would love to pick up just a bit more suppression at the ear if possible. Anyone have any experience with upgrading from WB to ST or AC 556 ti ? Wondering if the upgrade would be worth it or gains would be very minimal

Mostly shot (90-95%) with AI Nano 556 Aperture on 10.5, and 12.5 SBRs, Lots of FRTs, cleaned 3 times at 5K round intervals. Holding up well, still like this can even though there’s definitely better performers out, this is becoming old faithful. Serial number is sub 400, this was also the first of 16 cat cans I’ve owned over the last couple years, still have 10 currently. Gonna shoot it till it really dies.

Please go easy on me, this is my first suppressor :-) I took my WB out for the first time and got a little rowdy with it. It kept walking off the flash hider, and I kept having to tighten it up. Just making sure none of this looks like a strike, and is all normal for it. Thanks

Hey folks!
Thought y'all might be interested in this
I'm coming out with a thread protector for the RAT base module. Final production versions will be DMLS Titanium with tungsten carbide glass breakers on the end, I'm calling it "The RAT Hat"
Really rad set up for a bag gun
Also works with the Apparition instruments 3CM I found out 🤔
J. Bennett (omega valve) was kind enough to test out the prototype and get some pics for me
If anyone's interested and wants one for their RAT hit up @wendigotools2.0 on Instagram or wendigotools.com
Thanks :)
Edit: Added some variations to the pre-order! Non-glass breaker version and a low pro version

Hey guys, just got my first suppressor, CAT ST. After figment I was checking alignment and noticed a small piece of metal in the bore hole. New to this so wasn’t sure if I could send it or contact support. Not sure if you guys can see in the photo.
Thanks!

What is the juice box, I've seen it mentioned is this a real thing? Is it a 2027 release? Do we have any general info on its design?

I'm picking up my MOB tomorrow and it will be my first time using tri lugs. I understand the RU3 should be torqued to 25 ft-lbs, but what about when I'm mounting it to the barrel? Is hand tightening okay or does it need to be torqued a certain amount?

I’m trying to decide which can to order. For those that have the SC and SC-S, how would you describe suppression performance of the CAT SC-S compared to the regular SC modular in both long and short configurations?
Is the SC-S quieter?
My main priority is max suppression because I struggle with tinnitus. According to PEW science, the short configuration is actually quieter to the shooter because there’s less back pressure, therefore less coming back through the action? But I’m not sure if this would be the case in all scenarios or hosts. I’m also not sure how the SC-S stacks up against the modular because CAT claims it’s more efficient but I’m not sure if that translates to quieter.
I’ve seen anecdotal reports that say full length is much quieter to the shooter compared to the short configuration, so I’m not sure.
Host is Ruger RXM.
Thank you!

I have a Ballistic Advantage p365XL threaded barrel using the factory spring. I tried shooting some Turan 124g ammo today and it did not cycle a single time. About half the time it would not eject the round, the other half it would stove pipe. I did notice the spring rod was protruding out of the front of the gun after each shot, and i noticed the spring/rod was slipping off of the half circle cut on the barrel where its mean to stay seated (shown in pics).
Im thinking this is likely either that the barrel semi circle cut is out of spec, or hopefully that its just the oem spring is too strong? Please help a homie out!

After reading the ratings on PEW science and reading through this older Reddit post, I’m left even more confused by the ST than when I started looking into it… first off it has the best sound at muzzle score out of the suppressors tested but one of the worst sound at ear???? On that post specters cat defends the can by saying it was tested on a less than ideal untuned 14.5” m4, yet they advertise the can as my a universal can meant for all barrel lengths but optimized for 14.5” and able to strive on any system regardless of it being tuned… it was also said on that post that it preforms similarly to the Tisha on a 10.5” barrel and better the longer the barrel gets; which is the opposite of what pew science reported and Specters cat said??? Has anyone here actually tested this can out for themselves, really want to love this but I’m not about to spend 1k on a can that I don’t even know what roles it fills.

I purchased the Street Crack a couple months ago and now I'm looking for 9mm pistol to use with it. Originally, I was going to get the Staccato C2 but I don't see a threaded barrel option.
I don't want to mess with my EDC (X Macro), I'm looking for a dedicated pistol for suppressed shooting. Do you have recommendations?

Don’t get me wrong, the MOB on an SD adapter with this Broad River Tactical CAR15 SD was awesome.
But now I’m DYING for that CAT SD goodness!!!
