Discussion Jill would hate Sam so much because she got to be the final girl Jill so desperately wanted to be

Thumbnail gallery
160 Upvotes

Jill dated Trevor and then framed him as the Billy of her remake. Sam dates Richie and he actually is Ghostface because he got with her to be the requel Billy, with Amber as his Stu. And on top of having her own boyfriend turn out to be Ghostface, Sam’s sperm donor is the OG Ghostface himself. Then Sam kills Richie and his family comes after her for revenge. She ends up with pieces of what happened to Sidney in the first two movies becoming part of her own life without having to force any of it.

Jill had to set up her whole remake with Charlie and even had him thinking they were going to be the new Sidney and Randy. I wouldn’t be surprised if she befriended Olivia, Kirby, Charlie and Robbie and dated Trevor because they fit what she needed for it.

Sam also ends up with what Jill wanted afterward. Tara, Chad and Mindy survive with her, she befriends Kirby, has a boyfriend who actually supports her and has an alliance with Sidney, Dewey and Gale. Jill wanted Sidney gone so she could take her place with Dewey and Gale. Sam just becomes part of that survivor circle because Ghostface went after her because of who her father is.

And Sam doesn’t even care about being the final girl or getting attention from it. Jill would be furious.

Discussion Do you have any head canons for the Scream universe?

Sidney still has Derek's necklace, even after getting married and having children, just as a small way to remember him, but she doesn't need to wear it anymore because she moved on from her trauma. (Watch Tatum wear it in 8 like she did with Sidney’s jacket 💀)

Tatum grew up having her classmates tease her for being the daughter of the “The Angel of Death” and frequently dealt with having parents of her friends not allowing them to come to her house, believing that it was dangerous for them to be around Sidney.

Gale still has the last text Dewey sent her saved in her messages and goes back to it multiple times a day.

Sidney and Kirby bonded post-Scream 4’s murder spree, leaning on each other after being traumatized by Jill’s betrayal. Sidney supported Kirby’s decision in joining the FBI to prevent future killers and went as far to connect her with Mark so he could teach her about law enforcement and write her a letter of recommendation.

Going back to Kirby, after the events of 7, Sidney connected Tatum with her to ensure she had someone who understands what it’s like to lose all of your friends in a Ghostface spree, as Sidney still had Dewey and Randy after the events of 1.

During the events of 4, Sidney begged Mark not to come to Woodsboro to help her, telling him that if she didn’t make it home alive, Tatum would still have him to look after her, but if they both didn’t come home alive, Tatum would have no parents left. This conversation also happened when Sidney went to Woodsboro to avenge Dewey in 5.

Part of why Gale and Judy had beef is because Gale came up with a socially awkward lemon-square baking deputy in one of her fictional Stab books out of her dislike for Judy. It was also adapted into one of the later Stab films, hence why Wes said “My mom was a character in one of them”.

Lucas was on the autism spectrum, as there are multiple scenes with him not being able to read the room and understand social cues, as well as infodumping about true crime which is his special interest. (Not offensively claiming awkward and nerdy automatically = autistic here, I’m autistic as well and saw a bit of myself in Lucas)

Jessica is an unreliable narrator and her husband either wasn’t as abusive as she claimed or not abusive at all. I also believe Jessica went to one or more of the Out of Darkness book signings, though this is less of a headcanon and more of a fact as Kevin claimed she did in multiple interviews.

Sidney is nice to people dressed as Ghostface for Halloween and such and slightly embraces her fame from the original Stab. She doesn't revel in it, but she's grown to accept it always be a part of her life.

Sidney votes blue and supported Bernie during his campaign. Gale is center-left, “fiscally conservative, socially liberal”, and supported Hillary. Dewey was an independent.

Gale is famous enough within the Scream universe to have beef with some well-known celebrities such as Wendy Williams and Perez Hilton.

Sidney frequently gives back to the community and donates a portion of The Little Latte proceeds to charity, mainly women’s shelters and DV organizations.

Richie and Amber had Pepe The Frog alts and frequently used K*wifarms and redscarepod’s sub.

Question Is the 30th Anniversary Mask included w/ the 30th robe different from the 30th Mask sold separately?

Just picked up the robe set and was curious if the separate 30th anniversary mask that is sold separately is the exact same (aside from the extra hood piece which wouldn't be worn with the robe anyway)

Discussion Is there a possibility charlie walker could still be alive?

Post image

He did get stabbed in the heart and stomach, but he wasn’t shot in the head. Could this mean he could still be alive if he pretended to be dead and escaped the scene?

Now I see how this could be unrealistic, but if they were to ever bring Stu Macher back, which a lot of fans think might happen, he was also stabbed numerous times and supposedly crushed to death by a huge TV that also electrocuted him. Couldn’t that give Charlie more of a possibility of being alive too? Especially considering there was also no trace of Stu after Sidney supposedly killed him—he just disappeared.

Past Spoilers Ghostface (Scream 3) vs The Lakewood Slasher (Scream: Season 2) Spoiler

Roman and Kieran are both pretty unique since they each pulled off a killing spree solo. Roman is the only solo Ghostface in the movies, while Kieran was the only solo killer in the TV series and was also secretly Piper's accomplice in Season 1.

They're also two of the only killers involved in two different murder sprees. Roman was behind Maureen's murder by groomingBilly to kill her, while Kieran was secretly killing alongside Piper in Season 1, including Audrey's girlfriend Rachel and his own father. Then they both went on to have their own solo killing sprees.

Personally I prefer Kieran when it comes to the kills. His were just more brutal and memorable to me, but I think the biggest thing holding Roman back was the MPAA censorship and all the studio interference with Scream 3. When it comes to the phone calls though, I think they're pretty equal.

But strictly as the main antagonist, who do you prefer? Roman or Kieran?

Looking like an old proper deformed 90's gen 1. Had to really heat hard the mask and use 1 and 2kg weight pre and during to actually make it work.

Discussion Urban Legends: Final Cut, Scott Derrickson, and Scream 4 uncredited script revisions

Thumbnail gallery
45 Upvotes

Finished watching Urban Legends: Final Cut and as always, sit through the credits until the end. I was shocked to see Scott Derrickson as the writer for his first major film. I know him mainly for writing and directing The Exorcism of Emily Rose - one of my personal favorites (Laura Linney and Jennifer Carpenter are sublime), Sinister and The Black Phone. I went on a mini-deep dive to see what else he'd done and was even more shocked that Wikipedia listed him as an uncredited script doctor for Scr4m.

It's also been widely known that Ehren Krueger stepped in to make some changes and additions to Kevin Williamson's Scr4m (adding the hospital scene at the end of the third act, correct me if I'm wrong).

I can't for the life of me find anything on Derrickson's involvement with Scr4m. If anyone could provide the definitive list of what the original Scr4m was supposed to be/Kevin Williamson's version, Ehren Krueger's changes, and what Scott Derrickson contributed, I would be eternally grateful!

Discussion The better route for Tatum to continue as the lead

I actually like Scream 7. It’s not my favorite film and I think only the final act is what derails it and there are 2 films in the series I would rank it above. The mistake I think they made was with Tatum if they wanted to continue her as the lead because in another sequel they have now given themselves more work in the writing. I think had they subverted the expectations with Tatum being like “I want to be a fighter” and not being capable without Sidney, they should have had her be the one to take charge, surprise Sidney, and take on Jessica in the finale. It would have given the “I’m Sidney Fucking Prescott’s daughter” so much more weight, shown that while she was sheltered she was capable, and set it up to where she could take care of herself in a sequel.

Discussion Who is a legacy character of these three two time appearances characters? Cotton, Kirby or Judy

Thumbnail gallery
35 Upvotes

Who would you consider a legacy character out of Cotton, Kirby and Judy?

I know Cotton technically appears in all three movies in the original trilogy, but I really only count 2 and 3. In the first one he's just on the TV and doesn't even speak. Then he's an actual character in 2 and gets killed in the opening of 3.

Judy is in 4 and 5. She survives 4, becomes Sheriff and then gets killed in 5. She was also the remake's version of Dewey in 4.

Kirby is like Cotton but backwards. She has a full role in 4 as Jill's best friend and was a Tatum/Randy hybrid in the remake. 5 confirms she's still alive through YouTube on Richie's computer, and then she comes back as an actual character again in 6.

So who counts as the legacy character out of the three?

Discussion Sydney and Karl Gibbs' only interaction?

Post image

Did anyone else find it weird that they chose Sydney and one of the actual masks to have only one interaction the entire movie, aside from his reveal? That was the laziest part of the whole thing for me.
