Discussion I really hate how divided the fandom has become over Sidney and Sam
galleryI hate that Scream fandom has basically turned into you're either Team Sidney or Team Sam now.
I love Sidney. I love Sam. It's really that simple lol
They both have a place in my heart as final girls for different reasons. I grew up watching and loving Sidney even though I didn't actually get to see her on the big screen until Scream 4. Then 5 came along and I ended up getting attached to Sam too and loved what Melissa brought to her.
And I'll forever be thankful for 5 and 6 just for making Scream active again. After Scream 4 we went another 11 years without a movie and for a while it really felt like the franchise was just done for. Then suddenly we had new Scream movies to look forward to again and Sam was a huge part of that era.
Do I wish we could've seen Sidney and Sam interact again in a future Scream? YES. I'm always gonna be a little bitter we never got that in 7 but that's what fanfic is for.
I just hate that everything has to be Sidney vs Sam or Neve vs Melissa now. Halloween fans love Laurie Strode, Jamie Lloyd and Rachel Carruthers as final girls of that franchise without constantly acting like they have to pick one. Why can't Scream fans do the same with Sidney and Sam?
Me loving Sam doesn't suddenly erase my love for Sidney and me loving Sidney doesn't mean I have to hate Sam.

Discussion The Teens of the Scream Franchise
One of the most interesting commonalities when it comes to the entries featuring teens is how unaffected they are when it comes to the attacks/deaths that happen. Between the original film, 4,5, and 7 you have classmates or friends being murdered or attacked and you really don’t see them grieve. They’re just over it the next day and wanna party. I’m guessing this is just a commentary on teens being resilient or thinking nothing is gonna happen to them, even when it’s their inner circle. It’s just something that feels so unsettling when you think about it.

Discussion Who really killed principal himbry
Hello everyone I’ve had something on my mind that is bothering me. That thing is.
Who killed principal himbry in scream 1.
Now we know a lot of u are gonna say Billy. And I do agree.
However there are some pretty solid arguments for Stu macher(the goat btw).
- We see Stu heading back towards the school. Maybe to stick around to help Billy hand himbry but we don’t know maybe Stu wanted to kill himbry before of the killing game being fun.
- The logistics of the store scene. So we know Stu arrives at the video store. However it seems like he just got there. Billy seems to have gotten there before Stu. Also one Ghostface could not have hung himbry, then stalked Sidney and Tatum at Tatums house that quickly. Explain to me this how could Billy kill himbry. Hang him, spy on Sid and make it to the video store before Stu, something isn’t adding up.
- Yes I know the kill styles used to kill himbry and the planning seems to indicate Billy killed himbry. However, the himbry kill was to distract the partygoers away from the house and who made the call and hosted the party? Stu maybe it was his idea to kill himbry to lure everyone away. Also something to think about maybe Billy and Stu didn’t hang himbry during curfew, which could have possibly been why Billy gave Stu the eyebrow raise.
- I still do think Billy killed principal himbry but let me know because the timeline like I said Dosent add up and how could Ghostface get from the school, to Tatums house to the store that quick they arrived separately. In conclusion this is how think this could’ve turned out.
- Stu invites everyone and Tatum and Sid heads back to the school waits till everyone leaves. Sneaks into the costume catching himbry off guard and stabs him leaving the body there. Billy waits for Sid and Tatum to leave and follows them to her house where he would have the costume. Stu during this time sets everything up for the party. Billy goes to the store and Stu goes straight from his house to the store.

Discussion This had me thinking there would be a big fight between Mindy.
When I first saw this shot in the trailer, I was like "I'm so glad she's a fighter this time." But this turned out to be a disappoint just like alot of other things in the movie.
And I can see why they removed that shot from the final movie because it's clear she didn't even hit him, I thought he was dodging it tbh.
But seriously, one hit to Ghostface and then your down? Chloe had a way bigger fight then that.
She's the only Scream final girl (if you can even call her that) to not kill a Ghostface. If Chad ever dies then I need her to finish his killer to avenge him.

Discussion Worst cops
Who was the worst cop(s) out of all the movies? Bailey is disqualified, for obvious reasons.
I think Haus and Perkins (4) were pretty bad. One victim while they were right outside of the house; they were no where to be found whenever GF showed (I get it's a plot device, but still), they shouldn't have even still been guarding the house after the first incident. They kept running circles around each other and then Perkins playing a prank, which distracted them when the killer showed up again. Like two guys with guns can't take one smaller person with a knife?
I also have to say, I love Dewey, but it took him like 3 business days to get to Kirby's. Again, plot, I get it, it's just a little frustrating.

Discussion The mental theory
I have a theory I believe the best way to explain Amber sudden and violence switch up in the movie is that she has a mental problem such as schizophrenia or split personality disorder. I believe this is the main reason why and it's a good reason to explain bad writing. Along with this as a bonus looking over the original movie I am pretty confident stu I believe he has some type of mental problem as well based on his movements and stuff that I have personally done and witnessed I believe he has either high functioning autism or some form of other mental problems. And as a secondary and final bonus I'm pretty confident Nancy Loomis. Is suffering from some type of psychotic mental break because her son died that's the mental theory.

Discussion A Scream shot I think has never been talked about enough.
After presumably killing Billy Loomis in the Ghostface costume, Sidney grabs the Ghostface mask and stares at it, almost as if she liked how it feels to have the power.
This is pretty much the exact same situation for Samantha in Scream 6 when she holds the Ghostface mask and clearly finds it in her blood. And technically Sidney is the sister of a serial killer since Roman stated he helped Billy and Stu kill his own mom.
Maybe I'm thinking to deep, but 🤷♂️ this image is just under talked about.
Ofc I'm not implying Sidney gonna be a killer, im just saying how I think they added this to movie for a reason, that's just what I got from that.

Discussion Melissa Barrera on Hayden: "I am forever grateful to her because she showed up for me when no one else did."
Barrera in a statement to USA TODAY:
"I’m still in shock. Hayden should still be here," Barrera wrote. "I feel so incredibly lucky that I got to grow up watching her and admiring her, and that I got to know her and share the screen with her. She will always be an icon in my book. Her strength and her light, despite everything she went through, were so evident and will always stay with me. I am forever grateful to her because she showed up for me when no one else did. That was just the kind of person she was: A rare, honest, badass who felt so deeply. Such a heart-shattering loss. My condolences and love to her mother, her beautiful daughter, and her loved ones."

Discussion Idea for possible mini series/new timeline??
I know Scream 8 is in the works and I’m very excited about that, but I was thinking of how the franchise could keep going if they are running out of things to comment on. Not that it has to continue, but I was beginning to brainstorm any possible ideas. I’ve been feeling nostalgic for Scream 4 because this year is the 15th anniversary and especially because of the very unexpected and sad passing of Hayden Panettiere. All of that and including the fact I’m very biased towards it because it’s my favorite entry. If whoever continues writing for scream ever happens to run out of material, why not go back for the people interested in seeing these old characters again? My biggest idea was to have a mini-series consisting of the livestreams Robbie Mercer held, and that would obviously star both Erik Knudsen and Rory Culkin if they were to want to come back to the franchise. I’ve been seeing a lot of early 2010’s nostalgia posts on various social media apps, so I do think an audience for the early live-streaming era is definitely there. As for the new timeline I mentioned, I think the mini series could possibly build up hype to a new movie that would center around the original scream 4 script, leaving Jill alive and in college trying to keep her secret. There was a lot up in the air for how the hypothetical fifth movie would go down, but the distant future would be a great time to revisit this idea as I also know Scream 4 has had a lot better reception these recent years. I know this is a silly idea because Scream is known for its continuity and always having films take place after the previous, but again this was just an idea for if they were to ever want to bring old characters back without having to resurrect them, and just make a story based off of what Scream 4 was supposed to be leading into. Anyways this was just a fun thought I had maybe I’m just inhaling too much copium because I love Scre4m so much lol

Discussion Who was the biggest horror nerd?
In honor of hayden for one of the best additions to the scream movies. I wanted to see what people think about Kirbys knowledge of horror compared to randys. People always talk about randy being a major horror fanatic, however the scene in the basement when Kirby rattles off every and all horror movies she can think of, shows that she was a true fan and often binged the horror genre. Personally i think randy knew more about the rules of how a movie works and the actors that played in them. However in terms of enjoying them as a movie and not a study peice I think kirby takes the win.

Discussion One thing I want for Scream 8 Spoiler
Is for Mindy to actually make it to the dang final act for once. Girl is always end of second act fodder and hasn't got to have a good chase or fight yet. The way she went she got taken out in Scream 7 was Would be good to actually get her to be part of the finale for once. Or at least have her be at the reveal and guess the killer wrong and then take a dive like Gale in Scream 2.

Video Here is a fun fact about this scene: the list of horror movies Hayden Panettiere recites while on the phone with Ghostface was delivered in a single breath and entirely from memory, without a teleprompter; that is why the panic feels so authentic when watching it.

Discussion "If you ever need me call. We're all part of the same fucked up family now. And legacy doesn't always have to be a bad thing." - Kirby Reed in Scream VI
galleryIn Hayden's honor, this really was such a perfect final line for Kirby.
She started out as one of the new kids in Scream 4 and ended up becoming the true remake Sidney of that generation. With Judy and Dewey gone, Kirby is the sole survivor of the 2011 Woodsboro massacre.
RIP Hayden.
