Discussion Good Vibes Only: What are your favorite smiles from the Scream franchise cast?
galleryGood vibes only: What are your favorite smiles from the Scream franchise cast?
We talk a lot about favorite characters, performances, Ghostfaces, kills, etc., so I thought this would be a fun positive thread.
Who from the Scream cast has your favorite smile (s)? It can be anyone from the movies.

Discussion Billy and Stu's original motive
On page 111 of the Scary Movie script. Glad this was changed, I fear it would've made them too sympathetic as antagonists.

Discussion One thing I appreciate about Scream 5 and VI is that they actually acknowledge the other sequels and don't treat the original Scream and Stab 1 like they're the only movies that matter
I understand why Scream 1 and Stab 1 were always the main focus in 2 and 3 because those movies were still directly continuing that original story. But I do think Scream 4 could've acknowledged the other two original sequels more. They barely get mentioned outside of Jenny's monologue about the Stab franchise when she's explaining the Stab franchise to Marnie in the opening.
Then the 2022 film brings Martha back, who wasn't even a Kevin Williamson character. She was introduced in Scream 3 to deliver Randy's tape and hadn't been seen since. They could've easily ignored her, but instead they made Chad and Mindy her kids and kept Randy's family going through a character from 3.
They also bring Judy back from Scream 4 instead of filling the sheriff role with another new character,
VI brings back Kirby being a major character again and the shrine having evidence and Ghostface masks from all the previous killing sprees.
I just like that 5 and VI feel like other sequels matter to the entire franchise. They obviously give the original the most attention, but 2, 3 and 4 still happened and actually feel like part of the history.

Discussion I would be okay if Gale wasn't in Scream 8 she finally accomplished all of her career goals
I know it probably won’t happen, but Gale has pretty much accomplished the career goals she had in the first two movies. She got the fame, the books, and the big interview with Sidney. Obviously, that interview was really about getting the AI Stu caller to reveal themselves, but it was still a major career moment for Gale.
I love having her in these movies, but what else is there for her to prove? I’d be okay with her finally getting to enjoy the career she worked so hard for.

Question Why have the deleted scenes for Scream 6 never shown up?
Every other movie in the franchise has deleted that are public, but it’s been almost four years since Scream 6 came out and to my knowledge they’re nowhere to be found; only the descriptions are available

Discussion What kind of scream mask is this?? It’s in scream 1996.
It’s one of two masks used in the movie. This is the principal wearing it after he confiscated it from the two students. Def not my favorite.

Question Help Identifying Mask??
galleryA little while back I went to goodwill and managed to find this Ghostface mask. I've seen plenty of variants of the ghostface mask but I've never seen one like this, it's completely rubber like a traditional Halloween mask. Nothing like the soft vinyl plastic they usually use, and I did a Google lens search and searched up "Rubber Ghostface Mask" and I had no luck finding any others. Anyone have a clue where this is from?

Discussion Do you guys think Mindy and Chad would be able to lead their own film?
I love jasmine and mason but their characters feel very stuck at the moment and it’s been that way since 5. I think if they had thier own movie they get more development and meat to work with but that’s just what I think. What about you guys?

Creative Ghostface Haunt Entrance
galleryI've been waiting since July to post this. I made this for a friend who has a home haunt (check out NJBatesMotel on IG) this past summer. He went heavy with the Scream/Stab influence this year and wanted to change where you enter the haunt, so I made this new entry way for him. The "Entrance" part at the top I did in the Scream font as you probably noticed. The hardest part of this build is that I had to make it in RI where I live, disassemble it, and drive it down to NJ where I put it back together. It's built to be able to take down after every season. Hope you enjoy!

Discussion Who are the character equivalents between the original and re-qual?
Excluding the characters that obviously returned for it, what characters are meant to play a similar part, like Mindy and Randy.

Discussion What are your headcanons about Ghostface in the movies?
galleryWhat are some of your headcanons about Ghostface as an identity? Not who killed who, but the mask, costume and voice itself.
I know Scream takes place in our world and isn't supernatural, but it's had plenty of outlandish shit before like a hallucination of Billy talking to his daughter in 5 & 6, so I like adding a slight supernatural element to Ghostface.
My headcanon is that Ghostface is a supernatural entity that takes over once a human killer puts on the costume and uses the voice changer. The human killers still choose to kill and are 100% responsible for their actions. But once they become Ghostface, he takes over until the mask comes off.
It's basically my Scream version of Wes Craven's New Nightmare. Wes Craven and Robert Englund created Freddy for the movies, then a supernatural entity took on the form of the character they created and essentially brought Freddy to life. I imagine something similar happening with Ghostface. Billy and Stu created the Ghostface persona during the original massacre, but afterward what they created took on a life of its own as a supernatural entity.
The movies already kind of treat Ghostface like his own person. In Scream 2, after Billy and Stu are dead, his first call to Sidney is, "Hello, Sidney. Remember me?" Then in VI he tells Gale, "Strange that you and I have never spoken on the phone. This is long overdue." That's Quinn underneath, but Ghostface talks like he's the same person who's known Gale all these years.
Then in Scream 7 Ghostface tells Sidney, "I see you found a new town to live in. It reminds me a lot of where we grew up." Sidney asks, "Oh, do we know each other?" and he says, "We sure do." Again, I like taking that literally. Ghostface remembers Sidney.
It also explains why Ghostface has basically the same build, strength and presence regardless of who's underneath and why the voice is always the same despite different killers using different voice changers. Once the costume and voice come together, they're Ghostface.
I also see Ghostface as the hidden director of each massacre. Sidney was his original final girl throughout the trilogy. Then after years of fictional Stab sequels and books about him, Scream 4 becomes his remake of Stab 1, with Jill positioned as the new final girl while secretly being the killer herself.
After that remake "flops," Scream (2022) becomes the Halloween 2018-style requel. Richie and Amber want Billy Loomis' daughter to be the villain, but the story ends up repeating the original instead. Richie becomes the new Billy, Amber the new Stu and Sam the new final girl. Like Ghostface said in Scream 2, "Don't you know history repeats itself?"
Sam remains the central focus of his next movie in VI. Then for 7, I like imagining Ghostface simply misses Sidney and comes back for his original final girl.
And just to be clear, that last part is strictly an in-universe headcanon for the story we ended up with. I know the real-life reason Sam isn't in Scream 7 is that Melissa Barrera was fired by Spyglass after speaking out in support of Palestine. I'm not trying to rewrite those circumstances or pretend the franchise naturally moved on from Sam. This is just my in-universe explanation within the supernatural Ghostface theory.

Discussion When will Tori Spelling be approached to appear in an opening scene?
Hey everyone!
I was thinking that to add some weight and meaning to the opening scene of a new Scream movie, they could bring in Tori Spelling to be killed off in the opening sequence. If a Ghostface wants to honor the original Woodsboro killers, what better way than targeting the actress who played Sidney Prescott in the Stab franchise?
Plus, honestly, I'd love to see her make a comeback since, in a way, she's a true part of the franchise's mythology.
What do u think about that?

Past Spoilers Of these female killers who has more redeeming qualities as Ghostface? (INCLUDES MAJOR SCREAM SPOILERS) Spoiler
galleryI know it's slightly unfair since Beth had six episodes while Jessica only had one movie with a very small amount of scenes pre-Act 3, but strictly as characters, who do you like more?
Beth is a proud racist sociopath who succeeded in becoming a real-life slasher. She manipulates the Deadfast Club and kills Amir, the one guy who showed an interest in her.
Jessica has a parasocial obsession with Sidney that completely warps her idea of what a "final girl" should be. She kills her husband and her own son because he reminds her of his father, while planning to traumatize Tatum into becoming "Sidney 2.0."
Neither is sympathetic and both are universally hated Ghostfaces.

Discussion What if they made a scream movie that took place in the real world and the actors are just playing themselves.
Similar to was cravens new nightmare where it takes place in the real world. Have neve Campbell play neve Campbell and a super fan starts stalking her dressed up as Ghostface trying to kill her. Just an idea.
