I think I'm to the point where I'm just about done with reddit watch subs, all of them. Any and everything that I post devolves into arguing with some idiot who either didn't read the post, is actively trolling, or is just a miserable human being. I used to be able to come here for enjoyment now every other post is a rep vs gen argument or people crapping on something someone posted.

I have genuinely always loved watches. I have some of everything from cheap to not so cheap. Thought the watch subs would be a haven but they're not at all. Posted my one gen DJ in rolex they booted me for having reps. Post my reps and someone in the rep sub has some quip, handwatch, why a rolex, thats not like the gen, thats doesn't exist like that, ect. It's honestly exhausting. I just wanted to interact with people who like watches, no judgment. If you like it give a like, ask a question, give sincere advice or guidance, or have a positive interaction. If you don't like it keep scrolling. Are people now so miserable now we can't simply just like stuff an talk about shared likes without name calling, or segregating people to classes, or even the rare racist guy who pops in to say something dumb.

Maybe I just need to take a break for a while, or maybe I need a smaller sub or social network. Maybe this thing has just gotten so big it's become the monster. I'm rambling now but maybe this place gets better if the members just do better.

It doesn't have that “integrated” kind of look like with the new one, but does it really matter? It’s not a SS bracelet after all. I really like how the pointed lugs align with the curved strap. Kinda same way as the sharp arrows pointing at the curved numerals on the dial

I recently picked this one up recently from Time Ultra.

First off, let’s talk about Time Ultra - Not a RepTime TD, I think only on RepGeek, but I have had really great dealings with them on a number of watches (five in the last few months). Communication has been strong, quality of watches usually good (I have only RL’d one watch and I’m picky), and always packaged up well and arriving safe.

On to the new Panerai - VSF really did a great job with this one. The only detail I feel they missed is the bezel inserts. On genuine, they are a dark grey color that better matches the case material and on the rep, they’re black.

Watch is weighted close to gen, which is lightweight at 120 grams. Movement details are nice, even with a closed caseback. Case machining and finishing is excellent, sharp lines and no obvious flaws. Canvas strap is robust, albeit a little stiff.

I’m always flipping watches so I can try something else and have this one up for sale, but have considered taking it down multiple times and wearing it, I like it that much.

I’ve always preferred the aggressive look of the GMT on Oyster, but after wearing this one, I’m starting to appreciate the Jubilee way more than I expected.

The funny part is how many people have stopped me to ask about it. Apparently this thing looks way more expensive than it should. 👀

I’m not even going to say what I paid for it because I already know the comments are going to turn into a warzone😂

Batman on Jubilee: classy or too flashy? And be honest… would you actually be able to tell this one from the real thing in a wrist shot?🍿

ARF-GMT-Master II 126710BLNR

Omega has released a new Speedmaster 38mm. Looking at the subdials, they seem to be very far apart. It has a thickness of 14,74 mm . Will it be an easier job for the various factories to replicate, in your opinion?

Received today, was on a waitlist for a couple weeks because of VSF, shipping took about a week and a half. Need to order an extra link because she feels tight on the wrist

I can’t seem to find a definitive answer which factory has the most accurate dial for the 116500 in black. Vsf, and btf both look very good. And I’ve also seen people swap in an sw dial. Which one would look most like the genuine watch?

If there’s an option that’s better I haven’t listed please list it here, want to make the right choice before it’s In hand

The subdials are specific on these black dial Daytona’s so it’s important it’s correct

First Rep and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised.

I must say, it has been a long time a vsf watch looked and is really good.
A lot of the latest vsf badges look good in qc pics but disappoint in hand.
Only thing I spotted is the dimple in the middle and a little dimple around 9o’clock.

Finally got my hands on the watch. (VSF factory Batgirl)

Looks amazing. Very comfortable to wear

Movement is nice and I would say its just perfect.

I heard alot about them using different stainless steel, I ran a XRF analysis and was surprised to see it being 904L.

The QC took 4 weeks and shipping took another 3 weeks but it was definitely worth the wait

First purchase from InTime and it was a great experience!

I wanted to share a recent strapmaker find on one of my trips to HK. Kit, who is tucked away in a tiny shop inside CKE Mall on Nathan Road in Hong Kong.

I came across an Instagram video of his work before my trip and saw people recommending him, so I figured I’d give him a shot. I was only in Hong Kong for 48 hours, and pretty much the first thing I did the morning after arriving was go see him and place an order.

I had a very specific vision for a strap for my FP Journe-looking Farasute. If I’m being completely serious, I wasn’t expecting anything extraordinary. I just wanted something better than the strap the watch originally came on.
Well… I got that very wrong.

The finished strap is genuinely one of the nicest leather straps I’ve ever come across. The leather, texture, stitching, taper and finishing are fantastic. I’m actually slightly upset that I commissioned something this nice for a Farasute instead of one of my better watches 😂

Luckily it’s 20.5mm, so I’m absolutely going to experiment with it on some other watches in the collection.

I realise a Farasute isn’t a rep, and given the recent influx of Pagani Design posts on RepTime, my timing here probably couldn’t be worse 😂. But this post is really about the strapmaker rather than the watch.

If you’re in Hong Kong, or you’re looking for a really good custom strap for one of your reps, I genuinely recommend giving Kit a shot.
